Most people miss that the new Curado M has Silenttune technologie which stops the spool wobbling from left to right inside the reelbody when having a loose tension knob. When you set the reel like you used to do, you just have the tension knob to loose and this is why it backlashes. Just increase the tension a little bit and you will get more distance without backlashing. It is like driving a 1000hp car and and complaining about it going faster than your old car even you push the accelerater the same amount 😁
recently got into fishing and decided to to buy a reel from shimano, daiwa and lews to see what i liked best. i like them all but my daiwa tatula 200 just casts so much further and feels much smoother than my SLX DC XT 70 and lews kvd. I've hear so many good things about shimano tho so im debaiting on grabbing a curado to give shimano another shot, or getting a tatula SV.
Great video Justin! I purchased the Curado 70 after watching you throwing around soft swimbait's with it. It's just a really fun reel to fish. Since then I purchased 2 of the 150's HG and XG and they're a great bang for the buck reel. I use them for bombing casts. I also have a couple Met's and love them too. The only reason I don't have the 200 size is the weight. I'm older now and just can't handle the extra weight (Keeping it light). The only exception I made was for the 19' Antares 70 a couple years ago. That's ONE sweet caster.
How do these do with light weights? The Curado 200s have been a staple with Pacific Salmon fishermen in Oregon, we usually are fishing under 1/2oz total weights.
I just ordered the shimano 200k BECAUSE it's $139 on TW right now. I couldn't resist. I have the 200 dc and love it. My trip down the shimano rabbit hole started 3 year's ago BECAUSE of Royals content. I now have a shimano arsenal. I remember when I asked JR about the 150 dc around this same time the beginning of February 2021 that was my FIRST BAITCASTER. JR's videos and content played a HUGE ROLE in my bass fishing addiction.
I have a really rsre bass pro reel that has 24 different brake settings. It was the most difficult reel to dial in. But man it could cast square bills better than any other reel on my 7f medium rod that i use. It is currently retired until i take it to a repair shop
my Experience on it, Shimano curado has like a break-in period for 30-50 cast. the day i was fishing with it i was backlashing like crazy. so i thighten it up. second day it was a windy day, it was not able to cast as far, so it loosen the brakes and spool it cast perfectly without backlash in to the wind.
Thanks for another great honest review/comparison! Totally agree with casting distance remarks. For me, what's most important in a reel......must be light and comfortable in hand, easily adjustable for different baits, very smooth operation and durable, which means it must be a Shimano. I love my Curados, but my overall faves are my 2016 Metaniums! Has the rain and cool weather improved the bite on Lake Travis?
What you mean “loose” my brake tension is loose but I make it loose until the spool can move side to side with my thumb. That’s how all my reels are setup because I know Shimano and Diawa recommend.
I would like to see a new Micro Max chatterbait for ICAST 2024. The current one works but has trash components and a cheap hook. A Mini Max style but even smaller, maybe offer a 5/16 and 7/16 version?
Is the Curado K still worth getting after almost 6 years since it released. Since it goes on sale for $150. Or would it be better off to get a newer $150 reel.
They’re tank’s of reel’s! I personally prefer the k over the dc just because of the reduced gear ratio = more drag pressure! I’ve still got an old bantam curado 100 it’s a great little light line reel for it’s age! And still holds it’s own against the current tech!
My dude all my shimanos will do that from time to time like its not fully engaged press the button to free spool and reel it up from the OG greenie to the new '22 alderbaran SLX DC every one under the sun 😂🤷🏽♂️🤙🏽🙏🏽
Same here. I learned if before you cast, I have to make sure to snap that casting knob down with a little force and the same when you engage the reel after the cast to snap that handle forward.
Great Job, Just wondering what reel did ya choose for the LUX series 8ft rod???? I bought one, JR10 for the win, and was wondering what you chose as a reel for the big swim baits?
Time to switch man shimano is loosing it .. there making funky noises and ticks on new stuff .. i tried daiwa and not one regret ! And thats after fishing shimano only for a loooong time

Your analogy at the end is perfect for what I was thinking during the video at first!
@@Smiththebat😂 i love old curado most than this one ,my friend often backlash using this reel
Then your friend sucks with a baitcaster or he doesn't know how to tune it right

Hope you're doing well Justin. Keep up the great work and stay in the fight. You have a ton of people who support your journey.

Can't go wrong with a curado, I'm surprised your slx wasn't like butter.

Great video, good to see someone else watches tactical bassin and tries some of the gear too! Sorry i missed the premier, but i guess we both did! 😅
The micro chatterbait slays them. There's something about that tight fast vibration it gives off, they attack it
Difference is the spool with the back lashing I’m guessing. Spool is moving faster so need to tighten just like you did Lol
Love my 200 curado's, the slx 150dc is what me go down the shimano road.

What's the weight on those 7.5 flush'es?
Hey Justin what Fluorocarbon line do you like to use. It looked like it was Seaguar Invisx. Thanks
Yep

you need to check out the alijoz, under 100 bucks, compares to what u got...35 lbs of drag, good reel

Thanks for the vid on the reel. I’m getting a new setup and I think I’m going to get the CuradoM

Absolutely. Full stop. No debate. No question. No regrets. Best bang for the buck in the entire Shimano lineup.
@@JustinRoyal how about Curado K vs New Tatula 100
The flashback mini chatterbait come in 1/16 oz. And 1/8. It's a micro chatterbait with no skirt. Same blade size as the micro. Check it out
Showed them in the video you are commenting on. Check it out.
I hope you test those Flush 7.5 so I can see how you like it
I bought a Shimano SLX BFS reel and I don’t know the difference from Shimano SLX MGL 70 and the SLX BFS.
I watched JP DeRose of Shimano casted the new Curado M reel 200+ feet on his video. WOW 🤩 🎉
I love this reel i just got it for my first real higher quality reel and its great i dont know why it gets so much hate
My girl said she sent in my Lil tackle wall. . It wasn't quit ready to be sent in but I'm interested to see what you say.

Does it have clicking drag?
What size hook for the flush 7.5
Is the Sweep baits pre-hooked?
No sir. 7/0 keel weighted is what I rig then on.
Let’s go! That micro gets smoked when they’ve chasing those tiny minnows.
Thxs for the 🔥 JR!

Interesting reel review. Thumbs up.
Great Job, Just wondering what reel did ya choose for the LUX series 8ft rod???? I bought one, JR10 for the win, and was wondering what you chose as a reel for the big swim baits?
Considering another Bantam
You don’t have the Curado dc 200
Curado k Is Win?
JR, what do you think about the curado 300 K? I'm asking because I'm looking for my next swimbait reel. Would you choose a 300 K OR the TRANX 300 ??
I have both and unless I’m throwing something really big, like 4-5+ ounces, I prefer the 200 size reels.
Nailed that one, I sold my 300 curados and bought 200s instead. I’ve had both but if I’m throwing baits under 5-6 oz I def prefer the 200.
Curado 200Dc you forgot about.
Just get a Daiwa (Tatula, Zillion, or Steez) and call it a day bro
I wish I could afford a curado dc
Oh well it looks like I gotta get me one because that’s what really matters. I’m not doing anything tomorrow so I’ll be off to Bass Pro!
I don’t think they have them in yet… at least not anywhere around me 😒
You need to by both new, then the k will win
Say Curado one more time Mfer. Say it one more time
Let's go
❤
With all those bird nests that is why I don't like baitcasters spinning rod through and through
Time to switch man shimano is loosing it .. there making funky noises and ticks on new stuff .. i tried daiwa and not one regret ! And thats after fishing shimano only for a loooong time
