Main problem I have with the system is that while it can be deep you can easily just find 4-5 powerful sleights make a deck that's able to spam those and besides one of two bosses get through the whole game on autopilot. At least that's what I did til Riku. It's just something that kind of examplifies how repetitive gameplay wise this game can be
Dude I dunno. I think it’s unique and what not as a combat system, but I don’t like that everything I do can be canceled because I’m not good at mashing the numbers until the right card shows up. I think it works well, and I don’t hate the combat, but it was a bit difficult to get into for me
i use arcum arcanum or whatever it's called on certain boss fights and destroyed them with it. only problem is the low count can easily be broken so you have to time it right. never tried lethal frame and i wouldnt use it regularly if it's that op, that would just take the fun out of it.
"I'm never gonna get that time back-I rather have played the D.S. game" -Jirard PATRONS, DO IT. WE MUST MAKE HIM COMPLETE 358/2 DAYS AND MAKE HIM EAT THOSE WORDS!
@@Mqstodon Except remember the multiplayer Mission Mode? I'm pretty sure that has its own achievement markers. In the worst case, each of the 19 playable characters might have their own progress to track. At best, it would mean playing through every mission in the game again.
I think what people don't appreciate about the Riku mode is how brilliantly it pulls the rug out from under you. By the end of Sora's story, most good players have just pre-loaded their deck with powerful sleights and zero cards and are just mashing through them to wipe out everything in their path. But when Riku mode takes that away, you have to rediscover the basic gameplay of scrolling through your deck to choose the right cards, and really making good use of enemy cards, instead of just building an OP deck.
Similarly (for me anyway) when I was a kid I struggled with Riku's Wonderland, replaying it I realised what I had missed: despite being so far in it was trying to get me to use more card duels; evade the 6s I couldn't counter, wait for one I could duel, then be on more equal footing as duels don't use any cards you don't have in your deck
Ah, Chain of Memories. This is my second favorite of the series, behind Kingdom Hearts 1. I love the card-based system and the story so much, it's really one of my favorites.
Funny, the reason you dislike Riku's battle system is the reason I like it; no deck building. The card battle system made this game an absolute chore for me to play, so I ended up watching a friend finish the whole thing instead. It's a shame that the card system put me off to playing it when the story turned out to be one of my favourites in the series. Maybe I'll give it another chance someday and try to learn the mechanics properly, because while I don't personally enjoy them, I really admire how complex some aspects of the system are. You didn't mention it in the video, but attack cards with different keyblades on them don't just do varying base amounts of damage, they also do different amounts of damage depending on which order you put them in a combo. There are three hits in a combo, and some keyblade cards may hit hard on the first and second hit, but do weaker finishing hits, so to truly utilize their strengths and avoid their weaknesses you also need to build your deck with these things in mind. ... I just want to mash the X button, though.
I think one of the things that made me want to play it as a kid was because it was a kingdom hearts game on my little game boy advance! I could play an entry of one of my favourite games on the go and explore my favourite worlds in pixellated form. The sprites are gorgeous and it's very ambitious with it's use of fmv's and long story campaigns. A lot of charm is lost when it's presented as a home console game. A lot of the assets are reused and you feel like you're retreading a lot of the same. And yeah the card system is tedious and frustrating to begin with. I really think when you get the hang of it, it becomes quite addictive.
@@david-jonballinger6638 I agree, I almost quit playing because the early game with the cards they give you are so boring and weak. The moment you finish the first set of worlds they hand you is when it really started picking up imo
"358 Days Over Two" is how it's officially said. The easiest way to understand it is to remember how the game follows two characters over the year (365 days) leading up to the intro sequence of KHII. That intro sequence was a week, or 7 days. 365 - 7 = 358 So, in short; 358 days, over two characters.
@@Mqstodon We can both love the games and still simultaneously admit that neither the story of KH nor this title are intuitive in the slightest. 358 Days Over Two sounds like the result of a bad translation, that or a math problem from Pre-Algebra.
While this was my least favorite game in the series (not counting the mobile game) I kinda agree. I felt that the GBA version was the more fun version of the game.
Wow, the timing of this video is amazing! I'm replaying all the games to get ready for KH3 later this year and am currently playing this game right now. I literally just saved my game and went to get a snack while watching some UA-cam before returning and found Jirard's video. It is meant to be. Glad to see you giving this the Completionist treatment!
I think it was worth to mention that every keyblade has different plus sides and down sides, like some keyblades do more thrust damage while other do more ender damage, or less thrust and ender for way more starter damage
Took me a while, but I'm finally caught up on The Completionist. I think this is the first episode I've seen the day of since Mass Effect! Great job as always, TOVG team! Keep up the stellar work!
I remember playing this on the GBA and thinking it was a nice bridge between 1 and 2. Surprised that in the tons of handhelds they've done since they never did anything with the card system again.
As someone who completed this game a few months ago, I have to say I'm quite impressed that you completed it. I think aside from the grinding stuff, completing it made me appreciate the game more.
If you haven't already, you should at least play Dream Drop Distance before playing Kingdom Hearts 3. All of the "side" games in the KH franchise further the plot, especially DDD. I won't go into more detail, though.
Ah gosh, watching this video gave me so much nostalgia. I still remember when I first saw the trailers for the original Chain of Memories. I’d always liked JRPGs, Final Fantasy specifically, though I was never into Disney at that age. Naturally, the game appealed to me, even though I’d never heard of Kingdom Hearts somehow, so I got it and started to play. I fell in love with it. As a bonus, since I’d never played the original Kingdom Hearts, everything that happened was new to me. Well, I’d forgotten most of the mechanics in the decade or so since then, but hearing you talk about them brought it all back. I’ll have to go back and replay the game sometime. Probably gonna stick with the GBA version, since I have an unhealthy love for sprites in my RPGs. I did later get and play the first Kingdom Hearts, and got the second when it released. Haven’t gone any further than that, since then. Though, somehow, in spite of many years passing, and thinking I’d given up on it, everything I see about Kingdom Hearts III makes me feel excited. So, who knows, maybe I’ll jump back in when it comes out.
wyatt barnett Either you ain’t much of a hero, or anyone who thinks the joke went over your head ain’t. Really, it’s hard to tell when the given joke is blatantly obvious.
Unfortunately those aren't "Sub Titles". They are main titles and it's a bit ridiculous how it all worked out. Every kingdom hearts, including non numbered are cannon.
I just want to say thank you for doing what you do Jirard. You truly go above and beyond to make every one of your reviews special, and you treat games fair and objectively. You’re one of the best reviewers out there! :)
These introductions get better and better each time. It went from Jirard not being the most expressive, but selling the point of the idea... To completely capturing the essence of this show in a neat little package. The Beard-Mode roar is now top notch. Kudos
7:40 to be fair having a character suffer from amnesia can make them be even more interesting, like Neku from TWEWY and how he tries to piece together his last missing memory which makes him go into a murder mystery, trying to find his killer
TRIVIA: in the original Chain of Memories, Axel's catchphrase was "Commit it to memory". A play on how Castle Oblivion wipes your mind and because it's your first time meeting him. HOWEVER, in the remake they changed his first line to "Got it memorized?" to match with the later games.
well technically it is there's not really much that you learn in this game aside for the obvious new things like the existence of a group called "organization XIII" a girl named "namine" have the power to mess with your memories and the she is the one the help you restore at the end your memories while forgetting the event of the chain of memories
They are... Birth by Sleep isn't a spin off, and 3D you can argue isn't a spin off since it is all new worlds and you play as Sora and Riku. But other than the final showdown there really isn't a lot of new stuff in that one either. We should probably stop scaring people away from Kingdom Hearts since we want more of them.
@@christurner5791 nah this game is like coded/re-coded in were the only important part if actually the ending were mickey wrote the letter at the end this is similar the take away in this is new enemies organization xiii, namine power to mess with memories, namine put you into sleep to fix your memories you forget when wake up the riku part is only this mickey, riku get out of the realm of darkness (some how), riku want to conquer his darkness , new character diz (he's a ahole)
In my opinion, my favorite part of this game, is Riku's campaign. Yes it's short, yes his deck is limited and doesn't allow for any customization, but it does something special from both a game-play, and story perspective, and that's a lone wolf theme. Think about it, with Sora's game-play/story, despite losing his memories the further he goes through the castle, he still has his friends/allies to get him through battles in game and out. But with Riku, the only memories he has is with Maleficent and her gang, and even the memories you'd think would be happy like say Destiny Islands, the organization ends up twisting it to show Riku his true nature. Plus game-play wise, most of the worlds are empty, no cutscenes with him interacting with iconic Disney characters, plus the majority of the characters he does interact with are people he's fighting. The only thing that's keeping him from giving up and accepting the darkness, is King Mickey, who is your only ally in battle. But let's face it, if you could only have one ally in the whole game it would be King Mickey. But even so he's only a mirage throughout most of the story, but when Riku see's him in the flesh, it feels like a huge weight is lifted off your shoulders. And when a game can immerse you into it's world like that, you know you've done something extra wording.
You know Chain of Memories has a real history with me. It was the last game my dad ever got me before he passed away. I loved this game when it originally came out on GBA and well I literally just finished the Re:Chain of Memories on 1.5 for the PS3 just yesterday right before this episode came out. It’ll always be a special game to me and well I just am glad you liked it too.
It is a great battle system. Many people just whine whenever anything is different. Hell, with the right care, CoM lets you shatter the game over your knee. Getting Tornado is the signal of the end times, and once you get Mega Flare? The heartless kneel and pray to their gods.
Yupp. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but it's actually the game in the franchise that I've replayed the most. It's a real fun game to pass time with, in my opinion of course. Also, just out of curiosity. What's your take on Re:Coded? I liked that game a lot as well, and it felt similar in certain aspects.
I genuinely don't understand how people didn't finish CoM. I slaughtered it when it was on the Gameboy when I was like ten, it's all about high number cards...
Finally someone that likes this game. I also love the customization aspect of the decks in this games, I think this is where Sora can show the maximum of his abilities without feeling broken in a gameplay sense, and I love that. Wish that Square would make another game with this type of combat but maybe with more original content instead of it being just mostly a rehash of another game
maxalej oh come on. Re coded was good just not great. In fact I got back into the franchise with recoded so I have some good memories with it. It was fun I liked the extra things from the keyholes. The only things I didn't like was the chain of memories area and wonderland.
And 99% of people that think that of the system just skipped past the tutorial and decided that they were playing kh1 again, and that started complaining that they weren't and didn't understand it.
no. i did pay attention to the tutorial and still hated it. especially the second time around on the re release i knew exactly what i was getting my self into and yet still hated it
The GBA version of this game will always be the "best" way to experience Chain of Memories. The card combat was made for a handheld and in the ps2 release until you get some good crowd control moves its a real chore to take out a screen of enemies. The GBA's battle arenas were small and cramped but it made it much easier to hit multiple enemies when grinding out levels. Next, the story was so much more mysterious. The game had no voice acting and the little screen made most of the hooded figures look the same. Until you got to a got scene with more than 1 in the frame it's not even obvious there IS more than one hooded figure in the castle. AND the ones you do see, while they had their hood up, you can't even tell if its the same 1, same two, or what's going on. And given that its called "organization *13*" you can only question if the 2 or 3 you see are the same ones since you really think their should be a total of 13. CoM was basically just a way for square to milk their franchise a bit but it ended up working out on so many levels. What we REALLY need is a proper console port of the DS games. 358/2 days in particular. That entire game might as well be called "oh, so THAT is why: the Game" for the Kingdom Hearts franchise
The GBA game was my first entry in the series. I got it when it first came out, and it’s always been one of my favorites, right up there with Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance. I’ve since beaten it, and the PS2, PS3, and PS4 versions, a combined total of 8 times. However, I’ve never collected all the Enemy Cards... but I want to sometime! Thanks for giving the game a shot, Jirard, and I’m glad you loved the combat! It always gets unfairly disregarded among the fandom, and I’m always glad to hear people appreciating it.
Rotten Pizza He does still do that, but only when there are seriously crazy plot points you should know for later games. But I agree the story section wasn’t quite done justice.
He treat it as a side game especially since he already played KH2 and he doesn't seem to care about the story at all. Which is understandable when you played the games in a confusing order and with years long pause, but it's still his choice to do it that way.
It's a metrics thing. Since a lot of people skip the spoilers, the youtube algorithm hurt his video exposure (since there's no difference between skipping spoilers and skipping because something's boring in the system).
If he doesn't he'll understand why the non numbered games aren't side games and I wan't him to understand kh3 if he review it so let's hope he'll play it. I'd add I really hope that Girard will make a KH2 final mix new game plus episode. I was really disappointed when he decided to not wait and review the old version instead, especially since a lot of the added content is for completionist.
Kingdom Hearts is my number one favorite game series of all time. Yeah the story is convoluted and makes you want to tear your hair out with how confusing it is but I just went with whatever they were saying ESPECIALLY DREAM DROP DISTANCE. These games have amazing characters and a story that’ll make you cry, get mad, and make you happy, and I love it. This games community is the best community out there, and one I’m happy to be apart of.
Gotta say not was I was thinking of this when you hinted "keycard". This is my favorite series and love your reviews of them and look forward to them when you make them. Keep up the hard work Jirard.
Funnily enough GBA CoM was the first Kingdom Hearts game I 100% completed. The summer between 8th and 9th grade for me was so boring and quiet that I was able to play it almost constantly.
when i first got my gameboy advance, i wasnt into kingdom hearts, i just thought the cover looks nice (im glad 6 year old me was so easy to impress). For me its kind of strange to hear so many didnt know about this game. I played it for hours and hours. sadly never finished it, but with the 1.5 + 2.5 edition for the ps4 i really should give it another try
Another purpose of this game was to get people who had a GBA but not a PS2 (read: nintendo kids) to get a taste of Kingdom Hearts, to bring them into the fanbase and thus be able to talk about it with those that played the PS2 game. Having many of the same worlds and characters and events definitely helps in this regard. Once those people were firmly rooted in the Kingdom Hearts fanbase, they were that much closer to buying a PS2 and the first (and later second) game, so it was very important the fanbase wasn't fragmented. They really could have gotten away with a shot-for-shot remake on the GBA, but I think adding some new characters to set up the sequel and changing the main gameplay mechanic to work better for handhelds were both fantastic decisions that only helped to further the games purpose.
Oh my Gosh! Thank you, Jirard!! I know you might not be the biggest fan of this game but Chain of Memories is one of my favorite games of all time!! I have played every version of it to death with the original GBA version as my favorite! It's so cool to hear you talk about one of my favorite games! Thank you!
As someone who played this when it came out on GBA and a few times on ps2 when it came out. it's really nice to see someone appreciate the card gameplay. The story in this one is one of my favorites because of the way Sora gets. It's just a bit darker with his obsession through the castle. ALSO MINDBLOWN DURING BBS WITH A CERTAIN SCENE IN THE SECRET ENDING with the origins of this castle.
I just realized this is the 1st Kingdom hearts game that you didn't spoil the ending... But with the Kingdom hearts games I wish I could hear your reaction to it :(
I really know your struggle! The grind in this game is insane!! I was going for 100% too, since i got it in both kingdom hearts 1 & 2, but even after i got all enemy cards, alle slieghts and Sora to lv 99, my ps4 glitched out the slieght trophy, so my spirit is really broken down at the moment! I hope i can one day try again and figure out a way to trigger it! Kudos for completing it! It´s nice to see someone also liking Chain of Memories! :D
PLAY THE DS GAME!! I feel so sorry for everyone just watching it as a movie. Working for that next cutscene in the DS game makes it that much more rewarding and emotional.
PieSniper As much as I hate Days as a game, this is true. I wish it would get a full-fledged, overhauled remake. The gameplay needs to be seriously redone, because that game was the biggest chore for me to get through just to experience that sweet, sad story.
I know the most balanced method of leveling up in this game. Whenever you hit a level ending in 5 or 0, increase HP. When unlocking a new Sleight, take it. For every other level, increase CP. It's mostly the same with Riku.
The drop rate for cards is 10x lower, but you can pay $1.00 for a pack of 3 random cards, including duplicates, for "Player choice". Oh and, remove the Gold and Silver cards and sell them as cheat cards instead of hard-earned rewards. Also all that extra content added in the remakes, take it out and sell it as $20 DLC.
Jirard, why do you torture yourself, 100% completion on this game is utter hell, its a fun game, but 100% is about 15 hours of grinding the same 3 rooms on the top floor, and that doesn't include the rest of the grinding you're doing in the rest of the game, this is the only KH game I've gotten a platinum trophy for and it took way too long, I worry about you sometimes, Jirard
Please complete Dream Drop Distance!!!! It's honestly my favorite KH game, it's so fun and addicting to play!! Also, you're the first person i've seen with a positive review for chain of memories?? Everyone i know of really hates this game lol. I'm glad you have a different opinion, it's very refreshing!

Sonic blade was my savior
Raikunai would do like 2 full health bars if it connects
Sonic Blade is also broken if it hits the enemy
On my first (and till now my only ) playtrough I wanted to play through it without these OP sleights. It was hard
i use arcum arcanum or whatever it's called on certain boss fights and destroyed them with it. only problem is the low count can easily be broken so you have to time it right. never tried lethal frame and i wouldnt use it regularly if it's that op, that would just take the fun out of it.
You released a video at my birth day wich talks about my favorite video game franchise of all time
Thx dude
Happy Birthday!
The Completionist Where’s Persona 5?
He didn’t play it yet duh!
Yeah dude
Oh and thanks
Jirard slowly turns into Ansem.

I was about to say "Which one?"
But I guess you cleared up what he meant.

PATRONS, DO IT. WE MUST MAKE HIM COMPLETE 358/2 DAYS AND MAKE HIM EAT THOSE WORDS!
I mean days is amazing and i imagine super fun to complete too
@@Mqstodon Except remember the multiplayer Mission Mode? I'm pretty sure that has its own achievement markers. In the worst case, each of the 19 playable characters might have their own progress to track. At best, it would mean playing through every mission in the game again.
@@jardex2275 oof fair point, yeah
Just what I needed after school, thanks Jirard!
The moment you finish the first set of worlds they hand you is when it really started picking up imo
>completes the game 100%
>still calls it a side story despite clearing up A LOT of confusion people will have skipping over this to 2
Alrighty then.
"358 Days Over Two" is how it's officially said.
The easiest way to understand it is to remember how the game follows two characters over the year (365 days) leading up to the intro sequence of KHII. That intro sequence was a week, or 7 days. 365 - 7 = 358
So, in short; 358 days, over two characters.
I don’t know what this means, but I can tell it’s helpful
Still as convoluted of a title as the story is in KH.
@@Cheddar_Wizard ...which means they're both not? The title is not hsrd
@@Mqstodon We can both love the games and still simultaneously admit that neither the story of KH nor this title are intuitive in the slightest.
358 Days Over Two sounds like the result of a bad translation, that or a math problem from Pre-Algebra.

Super underrated game. People hate on this game but the Gba version is my favorite version of this game.
Yeah. But you know the best thing about this game? NO XEHANORT!!! Whoo!!!
You are aware that Riku is one of Xehanort's, aren't you?
no...the game was bad. the story was great but the gameplay to me made it unplayable
guess my opinion is wrong. what should my favorite version of this game be?
I honestly prefer the gba ver.
I think its gameplay is much better suited to a handheld...
Also the Pixel Art is so nice
@@iacomary nice bump
Absolutely. Pixel art was a way cooler aesthetic, by making it 3d it *reeked* of reused assets from KH1.

Took me a while, but I'm finally caught up on The Completionist. I think this is the first episode I've seen the day of since Mass Effect!
Great job as always, TOVG team! Keep up the stellar work!
15:43 I always just filled up on premium cards then used hi potions and mega ethers to restore them all. Worth it
I remember playing this on the GBA and thinking it was a nice bridge between 1 and 2. Surprised that in the tons of handhelds they've done since they never did anything with the card system again.
cause its god awful. the gba version is all right but working on a console it becomes terrible
Mathmachine a lot of people didn't like it. But I really enjoyed the added layer of strategy.
cause the card system was garbage lol
strategy u mean hoping you already have the right deck built
Mathmachine probably they only used for the story
As someone who completed this game a few months ago, I have to say I'm quite impressed that you completed it. I think aside from the grinding stuff, completing it made me appreciate the game more.
If you haven't already, you should at least play Dream Drop Distance before playing Kingdom Hearts 3. All of the "side" games in the KH franchise further the plot, especially DDD. I won't go into more detail, though.
DDD would have been so much better if it was just Riku though imo
does it matter if it 3ds version or the ps4 version?
@@Norkixx It really would... Especially with that twist at the end.
The game: Pick your cards wisely and focus on stratedgy.
Me: Spams Proud Roar (Simba), Blizzaga and Curaga constantly.
Kid, i got three words for ya.
Lethal Frame.
lethal frame is a godsend
I’m a fan of Tornado, myself :)

I can't wait for the finally announced KH SuperBeardBros run.
Kudos
Wow, I was literally just catching up on Liam's Chain of Memories playthrough.
Hats off to Jirard for liking that card combat.... It nearly killed me
It killed me. I couldn't play past Agrabah.
I didn't mind it too much, but goddamn I had to stop at Maleficent.
I actually liked the combat system a lot. I had a lot of fun with it.
I quit after Atlantica, Ursula's boss fight was complete bs, after I beat it I said I was done then just looked up a video of the story.
did sora forget atlantica is a water world?
CoM is actually one of the LEAST spinoff'y KH games.
*WOW* that totally isn't obvious you fucking *BASTARD*
"SPIN-OFFS" *INNER FANBOY TRIGGERED*
well technically it is there's not really much that you learn in this game aside for the obvious new things like the existence of a group called "organization XIII" a girl named "namine" have the power to mess with your memories and the she is the one the help you restore at the end your memories while forgetting the event of the chain of memories
@@christurner5791 nah this game is like coded/re-coded in were the only important part if actually the ending were mickey wrote the letter at the end this is similar the take away in this is new enemies organization xiii, namine power to mess with memories, namine put you into sleep to fix your memories you forget when wake up
the riku part is only this mickey, riku get out of the realm of darkness (some how), riku want to conquer his darkness , new character diz (he's a ahole)
Jirard
There are no side games in the series
Please
MeowserTheGamingKoopa well if we’re talking about the most meaningless edition, it would be recoded.
Panda'sBass recoded was a recap that added an extra twist to the plot.
Jacob Garvey what was the extra twist? Was it between Pete and Maleficent about the Book of Prophecies? Or the fact that we have Young Xehanort?
Marque Cardona exactly. Don’t get me wrong it’s not the worst game in the series( which goes to 358/2 days)
Storywise though 358 is amazing.
“Come forth blue eyes white dragon”-Sora
It’ll always be a special game to me and well I just am glad you liked it too.
wierdly this is my favorite of the whole franchise, i enjoyed the mechanics of it and idk i just really enjoyed it 😊
It is a great battle system. Many people just whine whenever anything is different. Hell, with the right care, CoM lets you shatter the game over your knee. Getting Tornado is the signal of the end times, and once you get Mega Flare? The heartless kneel and pray to their gods.
Testified!
I played through the game on Proud mode first time out.
I was a natural and I breezed through it!
Except for Larxenne. Fuck her fights!
Ehh I just Ars Arcanumed Larxene and Rikku to hell, But Vexen and his shield can go to hell.
I genuinely don't understand how people didn't finish CoM. I slaughtered it when it was on the Gameboy when I was like ten, it's all about high number cards...
It is definitely not for everyone, what is weird considering that its plot is mandatory.
Its also all about RNG. I currently have been grinding for 5+ hours just to get a specific card drop to open a door to progress.
I tried many times to finish ir but I can't... it's simply no fun for me and that bothers me... I want to complete it but I can't for some reason :/
9s and 0s. And for most the 3d game is worse because cards don't work as well as they did in the advance version.
Definitely my favorite entry in the franchise. I enjoyed building my decks and leveling Sora. Of course, this game isn't for everyone
Dear Lord, those completionist goals...Jirard, you're a mad man to do this stuff weekly
17:34 Because the Hundred Acre Wood is just too innocent for combat action
20:39 No Jirard. You don't want to play the DS game. You'll regret those words. 358/2 days is a slog.
Team Dusk but not as bad as RE:Coded
maxalej oh come on. Re coded was good just not great. In fact I got back into the franchise with recoded so I have some good memories with it. It was fun I liked the extra things from the keyholes. The only things I didn't like was the chain of memories area and wonderland.
The DS version isn't all that bad, honestly. It's probably one of the actual GOOD "fighting" type games on there that isn't Pokémon.
But the story was terrible, just a repeat of the previous stories and bad gameplay at least 358/2 was a original story
Oh come on, 358/2 days isn’t that bad
I actually love the cards system. No one seems to but me XD
Most people who bothered to read the tutorial and understood how it works either don't mind it or like it to some degree, me included.
The card system is probably one of the game's best features in my opinion.
you are insane. its what made me hate the game
This isnt really the same without a spoiler section
Rotten Pizza Agreed I miss the spoilers section -_-
Rotten Pizza He does still do that, but only when there are seriously crazy plot points you should know for later games.
Why does your comment go with your sad kirby pfp so much lol
I really want to see him review Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.
YES...
It'll happen surely given how kh3 is coming this year
If he doesn't he'll understand why the non numbered games aren't side games and I wan't him to understand kh3 if he review it so let's hope he'll play it. I'd add I really hope that Girard will make a KH2 final mix new game plus episode. I was really disappointed when he decided to not wait and review the old version instead, especially since a lot of the added content is for completionist.
He's probably saving it for a KH3 tie-in, since it sets up for that game.
Don’t forget 0.2😆
"A forgotten side story"
*takes 110 hours to complete*
*Introduces like 10 new characters*
The original GBA version is legit one of best in the series
Funnily enough GBA CoM was the first Kingdom Hearts game I 100% completed. The summer between 8th and 9th grade for me was so boring and quiet that I was able to play it almost constantly.
I actually still have the GBA version. went back to it a little while ago actually.
The GBA version is the better version hands down.
I also feel like it was significantly harder. Though that may just be because I was a child and refused to use sleights.
John Kennell actually I replayed the game last year at 20 years old. Game is actually just hard as shit lol
i remember getting the platinum trophy for this game, and my god, it took me like 3 weeks straight
when i first got my gameboy advance, i wasnt into kingdom hearts, i just thought the cover looks nice (im glad 6 year old me was so easy to impress). For me its kind of strange to hear so many didnt know about this game. I played it for hours and hours. sadly never finished it, but with the 1.5 + 2.5 edition for the ps4 i really should give it another try
Another amazing video! That is one badass keyblade at 1:11 BTW! Keep up the awesome work! (Thanks for hearting my comment last time!)
Last time I was this early games still had completion bonuses.
oof
I love this i love you this is the best thing ever
Love your channel.
I was very fortunate to have a GBA at the time of KH2's first release.😊

As someone who played this when it came out on GBA and a few times on ps2 when it came out. it's really nice to see someone appreciate the card gameplay. The story in this one is one of my favorites because of the way Sora gets. It's just a bit darker with his obsession through the castle. ALSO MINDBLOWN DURING BBS WITH A CERTAIN SCENE IN THE SECRET ENDING with the origins of this castle.

We already had an ugly square protagonist. Ever play the original NieR?

Imagine if EA released this game nowadays...
the only way to get all the cards is buying loot boxes!

$29.99 for a Sonic Blade deck
The drop rate for cards is 10x lower, but you can pay $1.00 for a pack of 3 random cards, including duplicates, for "Player choice". Oh and, remove the Gold and Silver cards and sell them as cheat cards instead of hard-earned rewards. Also all that extra content added in the remakes, take it out and sell it as $20 DLC.
Jirard, why do you torture yourself, 100% completion on this game is utter hell, its a fun game, but 100% is about 15 hours of grinding the same 3 rooms on the top floor, and that doesn't include the rest of the grinding you're doing in the rest of the game, this is the only KH game I've gotten a platinum trophy for and it took way too long, I worry about you sometimes, Jirard
thats the point of his channel is to grind and 100% the game
Please complete Dream Drop Distance!!!! It's honestly my favorite KH game, it's so fun and addicting to play!!
Also, you're the first person i've seen with a positive review for chain of memories?? Everyone i know of really hates this game lol. I'm glad you have a different opinion, it's very refreshing!
