This is still one of my all-time favorite songs. The instruments, Sarah McLachlan's voice, and those oddly cryptic lyrics all make for a masterpiece I never get tired of. This song came out when I came of age in the late 90s, so I remember it playing on the radio and on TV a lot at the time, and therefore, maybe that's why I'm partial to it, but I'm convinced that it's just a beautiful song. You're so beautiful.

I noticed she also mentioned the name of our LORD & SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST and even the name of GOD. I don't know if the God she's mentioning in this song is the one & only true GOD introduced by the Holy Scriptures, which was written in John 17:1-3 (New King James Version)😇😇😇🙏🙏🙏📖📖📖

Her Grammy for this was well deserved, tbh. There's just that certain aura on her singing that gave this the edge over Mariah, Jewel, etc. that year.

Love the sound and the melody. It's also an insight into how women love the tension a man creates in a woman - in this case the mystery - even though he is in actuality not really anything to be proud of.
She can't let go of the tension. it's a turn on. But if she realized that's all it is, she'd move on to something better.

Oh wow !!! You deserve an award I have been trying to figure out what this damn song and it's meeting was for over two decades and you probably gave, no you gave the most accurate depiction in my opinion. You have taken a weight off my shoulders because this is one of my favorite songs growing up and I was so worried it was sacrilegious or some kind of blasphemous song that I'm jamming while Christians probably are thinking I'm worth being seen when I pull up into the church parking lot lol

Now reading the lyrics this song so exquisitely reflects those (my wife) who can never bring themselves to be candid, genuine for fear (I suppose) of their partner (husband) not wanting to talk, discuss, understand, negotiate even on things that might be deal killers. OMG, there is always a way through, around, over, under .... There must be willingness to risk. The alternative is deeper mysteries and never being known. ... What a sad song.

Ok i may be crazy, but i swear i heard instead of "You strut your rasta wear," I heard "You stretch your ass to wear," lmao. I heard this song when i was 5 because my parents have the album. 8 years later, it still hits different, even in 2021. good song.

I realised this song is about men like me, but it's done in an understanding way. Quite moving, really. Makes me understand how the women in my life see me.

THESE ,OHHHHH UA-cam , ARE DEFINITIONS ON LIFE BY MAN"S INTERPRETATIONS ON LIFE WHEN LIFE ALONG IS GOD AT WORK. ONLY IN THE WORD CAN WE DEFINE LIFE AS IT TRULY IS......NOT ACCORDING TO SINGERS THAT CHANGE WITH THE WINDS OF TIME AS AREOSMITH HAS. AND MANY BREAK UP BECAUSE THE TIMES HAVE CHANGED AND NO MAN IS BUYING THEIR ALBUMS ANYMORE; BUT, WHAT WILL THE ENDTIMES BRING ...?
    A CHANGE OF HEART.
