The mother of Jonathan Toews insisted that her kids (Jonathan has a brother) speak French. Growing as a francophone minority in Manitoba, Jonathan learned the value preserve his culture. He wants his futur kids to speak Frenc too. Maintaning the French language isn't easy when you live in an english speaking environment. Mario Lemieux's and Raymond Bourque's kids don't speak a word of French.
I call BS on Mario Kids not being able to speak French. I would assume they do since Mario and his Wife Mother tongue is French. How they wouldn’t pass it down to them would be blasphemy.
@@BusyChild Raymond and his wife are francophone, their kids don't speak French. Mario Lemieux speaks to his kids in english. I have francophone friends who's kids were born in Montréal. Once they relocated to Dallas and went to english school, they lost their French.
