  • This is my non-sponsored review of the Circuit Cubes Space Rovers set. I'm excited to see what can be done with the controller and motors. The small footprint opens up tons of new possibilities with Lego builds.

Would love to see Lego jump on a project this scale... imagine what they could do with a $200 creator set with at least 2 batteries/bluetooth receivers and more motors plus genuine parts... the efficiency and fit of the gears would likely be better with genuine parts. You could probably modify existing 6 wide trucks from the city sets and turn them into tabletop RCs with very little gearing exposed... which would just be really cool in an existing train layout... I'm picturing a dump trump driving up to a hopper car and dumping in some gravel... Thanks for reviewing this product!

Great ideas, I hadn't considered 6 wide scale RC vehicles, but that'd be fun / challenging. It may be harder to modify existing sets than to build from the ground up at that scale. I'll have to give it a try 👍

Same here. I'm still on the fence on getting any of these.

Interesting stuff, I could see maybe using these motors and hub in some of my train freight cars.

Idk if there is a way to turn on an output and leave it on. It'd make a pretty sweet crane though 🤔, gotta clean up those derailments

Seen these kits at Sam's around Christmas and started to pick up, but was concerned about quaility and kinda skeptical about "compatible" lego as the quaility is always inferior to Lego. I do like the compact battery hub and motors. Would like to see more ideas and testing with actual Lego builds. It would be cool to incorporate functions in smaller Lego technic builds, and this smaller footprint could be beneficial in those builds. I can now see the benefits. Keep helping me drain my wallet, 😆

I hear ya, my wallet is killing me about as much as my back 😅. I'm very close to being able to monetize the channel so maybe I'll do that to help recoup costs

We made the individual bluetooth cube and smaller “Cubit” motor available at more affordable prices 🤙🏼

maybe ther can be a physical controller

It's supposed to support controllers. I never got it to work with Android but I haven't tried since I made this video

That box art aside from the mobile phone and "bluetooth" symbol on the front looks straight out of the 90s.
Maybe Circuit Cubes should just release a version of all the kits that only has the tracks/non-lego design parts and the hub/motors/wires with like a list for ordering official parts off bricklink or other sites, the rest of the pieces look to have worse connections than the lego-compatible bricks you can get from cada or bluebrixx.
Just buying the parts separately on their site doesn't make any sense as this set is $60 while a brick+wires+3 motors is $95 ($70 on their current discount).
It would be interesting to see if any of the builds become less unstable when built out of actual lego parts.
At what voltage does the system run? I might thing it's only running on 5v since the battery inside that thing must be absolutely tiny and I don't think they put a 2S battery in there. In any case I would like to see for how long it can run a reasonably loaded motor for, but I don't think it will be for very long.

Good questions, I can test the voltage and see what it is. If I build a narrow gauge train I'll set it up on a loop and see how long the battery lasts.

Local Sam's club has the Robot Rumble kit for $75, comes with 2 Bluetooth cubes and 6 motors. Maybe worth picking up to experiment

That's a good price, it's currently $100 on Amazon. The problem for me is I'd have to use two phones to connect to both hubs. I am planning to look into alternative methods to control them though and keeping my fingers crossed for support from the BrickController app
