    The bald bear was played by Bart, who was probably the most famous bear in Hollywood. He was in movies, TV, and advertising in the '70s, '80s and '90s, before succumbing to cancer in 2000. Every human actor who played alongside him was impressed by how well he was trained.
    Can't wait for Thor Ragnarok!

    • @GeminiWolfstarGaming
      @GeminiWolfstarGaming 2 роки тому +10

      To add to fun facts about Bart the Bear, he was truly massive! Stood at a height of 9 ft 7.5 in (293 cm) and weighed 1,500 lb (680 kg)! And crazy enough, he appeared in the 70th Academy Awards on stage as part of a salute to animal actors and "handing" Mike Myers the envelope. You can can find the clip of it here on UA-cam.

    Old dynamite is even more dangerous than good condition dynamite. As the nitroglycerine ages and sits neglected, it leaches into the paper and can form crystals on the surface of the sticks. These crystals are extremely shock sensitive and even bumping them can cause a detonation.

    • @markissleepy
      @markissleepy 2 роки тому +12

      Came her to say this. The nitroglycerin can also leak out, build up, and explode without warning if it's kept in damp conditions so if that mine section is normally filled with water like that they might be in even more danger there.

    This movie touches on so many things about going on vacation in the northwoods. Every summer our family went to northern Wisconsin in the 60's through the 80's. We did the bears at the dump, the restaurant which in real life was called Paul Bunyans, as a teenager there always seemed to be someone you might call a summer love whether it was a local or someone else at the resort and going fishing early in the morning. The trash cans all had the latching lids to keep the racoons out.

We were at my mom's folks' house up in the backwoods of northern Minnesota and my uncles were watching it, but we weren't supposed to. My grandma and aunts found out we were and yelled at my uncles for letting "the kids" watch something so inappropriate and so my uncles made one of my boy cousins stand in front of the TV during the "racy" parts so we couldn't see them. It still makes me giggle now, some 30+ years later. Solid gold.

      One of my good friends when I was very little absolutely loved this movie. We'd watch it every time we got together. His family was very big outdoors/camping/hunting types so it just fit.
      That friend died a number of years ago in a car accident. And I haven't yet been able to introduce my own kids to the outdoor and camping life of northern Minnesota like I enjoyed so much in my youth. I hope to someday soon.
