Yeah, this conversation has blown up recently. It's such a different environment we have today with fan entitlement and easy access to creators. A complete 180 from when I was a teen and fan culture was intentionally separated from the creators.

Yes! It's so overwhelming, and it sucks that most of these boundaries just have to be enforced instead of implicitly acknowledged and respected.

Love this topic and absolutely Kacen’s blog post was very timely and really helped put things in perspective for me, and gave me permission to let go of a fair bit of guilt and shame. You have a great way of breaking topics down and making them concise and digestible. Love it!

THANK YOU NANDI. This is so hard for many authors to put into practice because we're conditioned into thinking we have to be available and "on" at all times. It's an insidious way of enforcing hierarchical structures onto those whose main responsibility is to create.

I think author self care is so important! It can be tricky as we’re so accessible online. I’ve set up auto reply on some messages to help 💕💕💕

That's such a great option!! I also see authors just removing contact forms and their emails from their websites so their publicists field everything. Whatever it takes to feel safer and more comfortable, go forth.
