As a guy who've first had three oscars (in a 60g until they outgrew it) and later a single oscar, I have to commend you on the beautiful footage of them! You really managed to showcase how beautiful they look, and that's rarely the case with oscars on youtube.
@@speedyis9899 You should not have the red parrot in their tank. The poor things are not happy, I, think they are river fish, they need some kinda tank flow.
Basically the same for me. My dad had 2 oscars and when I was little I would spend all day going around outside finding ants and crickets to feed them. That's what started my whole aquarium craze. Ever since then every tank big enough has had at least one O in it.
I have a couple of oscars living with my 4 pair of angels and they are very friendly with them, previously i thought Oscar were pretty bad fish (in terms of loving with other species) but then I saw your videos and you literally changed my whole perspective regarding oscars YOU ARE THE BEST UA-camR/FISH KEEPER IN THE HOBBY AND YOU MOTIVATE OTHERS TO BE THE SAME AND I LOVE THAT Thanks for all the efforts ❤️❤️
I love the format of these videos. Never had and not thinking of having big fish tanks any time soon, but after following you for a long while now, if I had to pick any type of "big fish" I'd definitely go for a "pack" of Oscars, they are just amazing.
Your right, I’ve had my 2 red tigers together since they were only small, it’s so cool how they swim in unison all the time, I have my pair in a 180 with an albino sail fin Pleco
I was about 9 years old (I’m 56 now) when I first saw an Oscar. A family friend had a big tank with 2-3 Oscars in it. After seeing that I was hooked on fish and aquariums. I have never had Oscars but they are one of my favorite fish.
As a guy who had Oscar and experienced the trials of Oscar's I love them so much they are my favorite fish of all time there so cool there mean and loving at the same time it's so good to see someone share my love
Great video. I love how they hang around together. This video looked especially good, with the dark background and the room lights lowered. I look forward to more.
I really like your fish tank updates. I learn something new every time and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I do have to admit though those Oscars are absolutely gorgeous.
Due to medical and physical issues i have to stop with the hobby but i am happy i can still enjoy it through these ways, maybe in the future i can pick it up again, but thanks for making these videos with so much varriation
Oscars are my all time favorite fresh water fish i had 5 at one time 3 tigers and 2 albinos tigers and they liked to be petted on the sides i am trying to get back in the hobby because of your videos you have made my interest peek up again so i told my wife i want your DIY book and im going to build a massive tank just for oscars and one for her for whatever she wants to keep
I LOVE your piranha tank and I never liked them in any tank EVER to you set yours up. So natural so relaxing and love love love the colour of the water
Man, you got me thinking of my Oscars that passed away years ago. A breeding pair, but we never got a successful clutch of eggs. Of all the fish I've had, Oscars seemed to be the most intelligent. Always excited when I'd walk by the aquarium and helped each other hunt down crawfish I'd give them for an occasional snack.
Of course , I like this type of video format. How else could I live vicariously while contemplating the aquariums, fish and aqua-scapes I want to set up...? Thanks for your consistent production of useful, educational and entertaining presentations.
Absolutely adorable beasts! I share your love for them. I like this kind of format - methods and best practices in the start, then story telling towards the end.
Such a beautiful fish! I like how you are feeding them only what they need as it is very easy to overfeed and like you said that's not healthy for them, this tank really looks nice!
Your Oscar aquarium is exactly how I want mine to look. I love the black background, river gravel and how you have the lights above the water to create the deep, dark light ripples. You have an absolutely beautiful aquarium with crystal clear water. 👍👍
these happen to be the perfect videos currently. Son is excited to get into fish keeping. So having these updates is perfect. Clearly Joey is reading my mind... sorry lol
Iam glad to here that got my fahaka he look like tad pole he about 3inches now growing him out with different fish now 3months so far so good I learned so much from u these past 2yrs
Good video, great presentation. Who manufactures the tanks that you use? I myself love the black silicone look. I would like to start a fish room and just wondering your preference and thoughts. Thanks.
What a great tank! Question could you make a diy video about a hang on the back overflow box, just watched some sump videos from 5 years ago, im so curious if u can make it!
The idea of the King wandering around Walmart hoping to meet a fellow fish friend hits home a little too much. I was from a small town originally and all we had was a Walmart. Driving to the big city was 3-4 hours away and wasn’t going to happen so I did what you did and used Walmart and found a small group of like wise keepers. I also have come along way from those Walmart times.
i just taught my oscar to hand feed. had him for 4 years now and he’s growing quite nicely since i put him into a bigger tank. This fish is my lively hood and has helped me through very tough times.
Walmart gave me the most bulletproof pleco I've ever owned. One of my very first and favorite fish when I started and had basically no idea what I was doing at the time. Almost 20 years later I still have no idea what kind of pleco that was but it survived everything up until a big power outage during the winter in New York.
Hey Joey, I had an idea that maybe of use to you for water changes. Have you seen Aquarium Float Ball Valves? what if you were to run a hose which you could link up so all the Tanks sit the valves on the side of the tanks can fill with the safety of not over filling. It would not speed up the fill time but it would mean you could empty tanks then have them refilling while you go off somewhere. What I am picturing is short hose into a T push fit [water in], one side a hose running to the Ball valve that you can put on the side of the tank. And final side of the T has a short hose leading to a push fit (john guest) shut off valve [water out]. Make 6 of these (or more), that you can daisy chain together. Now you can empty the tanks and start the filling by adding a new daisy chain valve as each tank empties. Allow them all to fill while you go off and do something else.
It's funny to see this aquarium and the Oscar's behaviour, I always read about "oh Oscars are territorial, you CAN'T have more than one together", and again Joey proved them wrong. One of my favourite aquariums from the gallery!
Beautiful, anyway just wanna ask coz i have a 75gal tank and i want to put oscar on it just want to know how much wattage go i need for the heater? Thank you, your advice is much appreciated.
hello, thanks for your experience, I can ask about your filter, you said that your filter has enough flow to push dirt into the filter, however I find the tank for oscar that water flow is not too strong, so does your filter have bottom suction or just on the surface of the water? I am wondering if my filter is strong enough to draw fish waste from the bottom of the tank to the suction tray at the top of the water. I am planting to hold gold fish
Hi sir, when changing water, the water to be put in the tank is already dechlorinated? can i not just turn off the filter first, put some dechlorinator, and then put tap water directly?
Love it. Looks amazing. I used to have big CA cichlids like midas and jaguars but there were always the fights until I just kept the midas solo. When I am getting back into big cichlids I am going to try an oscar tank this time.
Love these Informative Videos... 😁 I'm pretty sure that every Hobbyist has kept Oscars, It's such Intresting and Interactive fish!! Smart and Gorgeous, these fish are truly an 'Oscar' 😅

Hey Joey! Bro my oscar fishes are around 3 - 4 inches but they r not eating pellets, they are eating shrimp, I fed them sardines they ate those too. The food I have is not food sticks but it is balls. The small balls, brown color ones. They come up in the mornings for food but they don't eat the balls I give them. please tell me what to do should I get Hikari food sticks?
I just got my first lemon Oscar. I'm not sure if it is male or female 🤔 it's a tiny baby, I have never bought on this small! I have it in a 75 gallon for now it is so friendly, but isn't eating well... I've tried blood worms, brine shrimp, and pellets of all small sizes, even a flake food.
