Oh thanks @RevorecRecruitementSolutions, I think you,re the first one to reply….I will definitely check those sites out tomorrow. I have tried the entitledto site, two different advisors at the Welfare rights dept and the Leeds Council Housing officer that’s actually dealing with my case so far and had 4 completely different responses from them!!! I,m just worried once I get put on UC there will be no going back. Nobody will take any responsibility for what will happen. Thanks a lot, love.
Very informative video as someone whos on universal credit for years this is what they dont tell you , they cause stress and anxiety , it can be taken away instantly and you can be forced to go on the work programme and you have to deal with advisors who are almost useless and will make it harder to keep your benifit.
I was suicidal, literally had to stop going into the job centre and told them to end it, I'm living off savings and don't even pay NI contributions, luckily I can live with my parents but they won't be here forever, I feel genuinely a lot better since stopping going in, job centres feel like a prison, it's a horrible nasty environment where bullying and verbal abuse has been normalised by DWP staff and managers. I was forced onto the original work programme and guess what? there was no job at the end of it 9-5 searching for crappy jobs all day, worst 3 months of my entire life, I still occassionally have nightmares and night sweats about the experience, I had things stolen from me from other people fresh out of prison on the same course, and was mocked for not making enough eye contact by advisors there in some mock interviews they did, it didn't give me confidence at all, just destroyed me mentally.
@@tyremanguitars Crappy jobs? what do you want, 50k office job? you get what you deserve. No skills = crappy job. This is reality. Simple market rules of supply and demand.
I'm migrating from ESA Support Group to UC. When I applied this week, I got a notification that I'd receive a call from them, but instead of that, they just went straight to the ID assessment stage appointment (I don't have photo ID). I'm wondering if that's due to the fact I'm migrating rather than a standard new claim?
I work for my self but i am not classed as self employed, and i earn about £300 a month as somethings im building, i noticed income support is no longer a thing, and universal credit tells me i have to agree to search for a job to be paid. However that would mean if i got the job i would have to give up on my own thing. (UA-cam) Any advice for support during growing?
Firstly good luck with trying to grow your channel. As for the UC income the problem you have is that in their eyes, if you want UC money which is effectively tax payer funds, then they want to see evidence you're not trying to do everything you can not to need it for long. Whilst your intentions are legitimate, in essence you are asking for taxpayer money to try to grow your own business. That's not seen as something UC want to be funding. My best advice would be that you'll be better served taking an evening or part time job as you're going to get hounded by UC otherwise.
@revorcecRS why do they keep changing uc? That must mean the goverment are never happy with it? Or its an evil ploy to make people suffer. All there doing is moving the goal posts every time they get fed up, its like a sick twisted game
Can you please explain if claimants wait 5 weeks (4 weeks of assessment, 1 week to process the payment) then why don't claimants receive 5 weeks payment in their first Universal Credit payment? Also, if, say for example, a claimant is switching to Universal Credit from New Style JSA Contribution-based then why does DWP need 1 week to process the Universal Credit payment when the claimant is already in the payment system from JSA???
It allows for a buffer for them if your circumstances change. Youll always effectively get paid as a delay so if you got a job and that info didnt get back to them immediately, they dont end up paying you money you dont need.
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions Thank you for responding so promptly but my question isn't relating to the waiting period, I understand about the waiting period it's the payment that doesn't make sense. Why pay for 4 weeks when it's a 5 week wait? Shouldn't the claimant receive 1 month and 1 week payment? Also, if you're already in the payment system from another benefit then a 5 week waiting period should not apply only the 4 week assessment period.
I see what you mean. The official line is its an even distribution of funds but unnofficially its an excuse to restrict payouts. Basically most people are only on UC for a short period. And once UC get notified that someone is no longer eligible for UC they stop paying, even if in theory as in your example, they owe a week. Its basically an accounting trick that saves a lot money on payouts but with some legitimate excuse to cover themselves. Maybe im just a skeptic but thats my interpretation
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions Again, thank you for response. So, basically, a single person who is entitled to £409.89 per calendar month loses £102.47 for the extra week to process a payment when they're already in the payment system. (£402.89 / 4 weeks = £102.47 per week) WOW! That's a lot of money to lose just to process a payment!! Thanks again, your videos are very informative.
I am currently going from ESA (contributions based) to universal credit due to needing UC to claim housing benefit which im having to get as my mum is throwing me out of her house and i cant afford to rent on my own on my current £500 a month benefits I get at the moment?! I’ve been told I cannot claim housing benefit on ESA and have to go on UC if I want to be housed. I,m scared though I don’t think the UC will cover my food let alone the energy bills etc! Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can do?❤
I have received a UCD81 letter in my universal credit inbox today what is the meaning of it as it doesn't say anything about pay rises or anything like it it just says that I've been put in the limited capability of work related activities what ever that means.
I'm single no kids and live in a council flat I have been on what they call the UC light touch regime since march 2019 I work on a zero contact and long as I earn £338 or more a month I do not have to attend job centre appointments and no mandatory work search anyone else doing the samething
Hi, live in a cheap house £ 370 per month its not the real world . my land lord is selling the property , so I need to fined a new house, the problem is to rent another house I need a 4 bedroom, and they cost £1100 plus, i've rang universal credit but they don't seem to have the answer of what help I can get, I have this year to sort it, it looks like we will be in homeless accommodation , any help would be appreciated
For a 4 bed you need an 8 person household. You also have to consider that those are rare as hens teeth to come on the market for UC claimants. Simplest way is move elsewhere in uk but presumably thats not realistic for you. The typical solution is emergency accomodation until a 4 bed can be found but do not expect that to be quick. Any landlord that has a 4 property has their pick of the market and unfortunately UC claimants are not as desirable as a nice 2.4 children middle class family. Sadly the answer is patience and accepting emergency accomodation or relocate elsewhere
I’m scared. I have not been able to reset my universal credit password for months. However, it will send me my username if prompted but no way of resetting from my phone. The job centre has left me a message saying they have info as to why and the technical team have said why but not gave me anything further. I’m really worried
The single person and over 25 amount I take it that doesn't include housing and you get that in top of it or is the amount the max you can get includes housing
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions thanks as I thought that figure included housing. I have been looking into it and applying is, easy but to book appointment to start with you have to phone. Don't get why they don't just send text. As if people, arnt aware to phone the claim closes after a, while doesn't it
Hi I have adult child she doesn’t have job and I can’t afford her with my universal credit, can she apply uc for herself? But she is staying with me so how she has to prove her cost and what evidence she needs to provide as she does not have any tenancy agreement in her Name , if you answer will be great help
There are two options. Option 1 is register her as living there and get all the proofs they ask for and she also applies for Universal Credit. However universal credit is calculated on household income so as long as she's not working then she should get some money from it. Option 2 tell her to get a job and move out
If your a phone claim, its virtually impossible to change it over. On the other hand. If you was a online claim and wanted to go too a phone claim then you’d just need ask to be treat as one and they won’t expect you too check the account
Good day I’m confused I was made unemployed I went into the local branch I’m single with my 21 yr old daughter living with me but she has a few issues and never worked I’m receiving 320 per month I’m so far behind now with mortgage payments how do I find if I’m entitled to any more help I was told non as I m not in council housing so frustrated never been unemployed before after 40 years
To be honest you are limited on options. The HMRC stance is that taxpayers shouldnt be paying someones mortgage. But then again if you lose your house then its the council who need to help which comes at a cost to the taxpayer. So the logic is a bit shortsighted. Ask for a mortgage holiday from your lender if you havent. That should buy you 3 months. Id sign on for agency work for warehousing etc. The income will be low enough to keep hmrc support money but add a bit extra. Buy time basically. Also call citizens advice. No simple answer I can give you unfortunately.
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions yes it’s short sighted it makes you think after all this time paying into the system is it worth it my next door neighbours don’t work 5 kids living a better life than me
Could you please help me to sough out my problem, when I apply for universal credit, I first created the account, but I couldn't claim as soon as possible. After a while when I try, it didn't allow me to go ahead to make a claim. What should I do?
I'm retired early and getting my works pension which is under the limit. I've just claimed UFC and getting a little bit to top upto 409. But my case worker keeps ringing me to get a job which I dont want. Due to my health. Can they force me to get a job or ami best just coming off uc.
If you're below the official retirement age then HMRC will either want you working to pay tax or financially self sufficient. But the problem is if you have legitimate health conditions they're more like pen pushers than human beings when considering circumstances. Best to stay on UC for now unless you have a viable financial alternative.
Officially you declare them so UC can take them into account. If you dont UC can ask you to submit all your financials. It might sound harsh, but in the eyes of UC theyre paying you taxpayer money so they want to assess whether you actually need it.
If you have less than 6000 in savings you will get normally amount. If you have 6000 to 16000 uc gets reduced. If you have over 16000 you can't get any uc
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions hi I'm new in UK, I have no job, no savings, no property, have two younger siblings to take care, can you please guide me how can I apply for UC
I am living with grand parents, they are very old not working may be they have some property, but our parents are not with us, I am 21, unemployed, have 2 younger sisters, can I get universal credit, and how can I apply for it, please can you tell me the procedure
Yes you can apply. Go on google and type apply for universal credit. Find the hmrc website and make an application following the steps and asking the questions. It takes about 5 weeks to get your first payment.
Finally decided to apply, 22 finished university, tried to find work for 6 months, had 1 interview where i got beat out by someone with 5 years more experience. The experience has been bad so far, i put that i didn't have housing costs or children and it said i live alone when i live with my parents, took me hours to figure out that it says i live alone because I'm not claiming for anyone else, when trying to verify my identity i had to disabled my ad blockers and enable cookies to get the website to work. Iv heard that they try and get you to apply for bad jobs that you don't want to do or aren't suitable for, if i keep applying to jobs that i want to do and keep it updated in the journal section will this be proof enough that I'm looking for work without them intervening?
Basically the work coach is looking to see you applying for jobs. Thats the target box ticked. So applying for naff jobs is what theyll encourage you to do. HMRC arent worried about you being happy or not. Its purely a tick box exersize to get more tax takers into tax makers. In the nicest way youll probably have to take a naff job now and keep applying for something better. You can try and play the system and wait until you find something you want but the longer you dont work and claim UC the better employees wont take you as a serious candidate. If youve been looking 6 months and had 1 interview its probably a good indicator your chances of getting a job doing what you want now isnt likely. Best advice take the best of the worst jobs you can find and keep applying for the right jobs. Itll take a while but at least theyll see your working. To get the job you want is more of a stepping stone process.
My partners is employed but has been off work due to ill health, they have now dropped his money to peanuts. I work , our problem is we got a loan out last year to pay all delta off , I'm worried even. With what I earn we won't get enough to pay the loan plus the mortgage as well as house hold bills etc. Having never claimed before what the hell do we do,
Thats a difficult situation. Im not an expert on the loan bit but there was to my knowledge some legislation changes on loans regarding people being able to afford them. Id look up any articles to find subject matter expert on that online. UC wont help much but maybe a little. You need to prioritise the mortgage 1st. The loan could probably work as an extended payment plan, the mortgage extended to spread over a longer period and cut non essential household bills. But prioritise the mortgage whatever happens
Hi.i got universal credit at the moment..today i just stop working ,in the factory where i been for 9 years...how to let know universal credit about that?what section to chose to let them know about that?thank you
Been on UC since the start of this pandemic, I was forced on to this because of the industry I work in. NOT ONCE have I been paid £409.19. bear in mind I did not get a single payment for 6 months.
Id love to say something thatd help or be constructively positive but sadly im not surprised and I just wish you all the best and that things will improve for you asap.
Me and my partner are currently claiming UC. He is self employed so he has to put in how much he earns every month on Gov.uk then according to that they deduct from our payment. I am not currently working as I am pregnant. We argue every month as to how much is his and how much is mine as it all goes into one account and he has to transfer my share to me. Money gets deducted cuz he works but I'm out of work so how does it affect me. I want to know if we can get our own payments into our own accounts and if not I want to know exactly how much is mine from the payment. Thanks
UC is calculated and paid as a household income, not an individual one. For example if you are out of work in a shared house and a millionaire moved in, your payment will most likely disappear. Thats why the payment comes to one account because its for one household.
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions but how much of it is mine? Cuz I have my own needs to take care of and partner doesn't provide for me. Sometimes cuz he works more (as hes self employed) the payment is reduced drastically and I get left with almost nothing. I'm out of work and need money to support myself. How much of the payment we receive is mine ?
@@nailaparveen7517 I cant calculate how much is yours as I am not an assessor. Sadly, to be honest, there isnt much you can do to change this situation. Unless one of you moves out, UC is inflexible to help your circumstance.
@@nailaparveen7517 Fair will be: -Just divide your 1st payment(50/50), after you just take each months that 50% like 1st month. Because your circumstances doesn't change.
I found this video useful however when I called universal credit up they talked me through more in depth calculations on how they work out from your income how much you would be entitled to. I did not understand it and I am trying to find a video on the breakdown so I can work out myself and understand it. Originally I had a message that I was eligible for universal credit but when I called up they said that even though my income was quite low due to over time I wouldn't be eligible. In the next few days I will be moving out and renting. Is there anyway I can work out if that would change anything and I would be then eligible for the universal credit? Sorry to babble on, on these comments but I would really appreciate some help :-)
To be honest it evolves over time and things have changed since the video. I dont know the exact calcs. This was a basic breakdown. Maybe someone in the comments can help?

@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions I guess logically I should deduce that is per month, but in the past I had heard about people collecting weekly dole payments so I was just curious when the amounts were stated.

Youll need to wait to get paid and then itll get backdated. It could take 5 weeks. The only other option is to contact them and apply for an advance but theyll charge you a large interest rate for doing so.

Hello Sharon, let me help you out with an opportunity to make daily money, how would you like to learn how to make extra money daily, by buying and selling bitcoin
I've just turned 18 and the reason I'm going onto UC is because I don't have the right documents to work such as a passport/Provesional, so I don't hope to be on it for long. I have a question, I've just done the phone interview and now I have a meeting with a work coach at the job centre and it's called a commitment meeting... Do you know what they will ask and what I need to bring? Thank you :)
The commitment is more about are you committed to getting a job in their eyes as opposed to trying to play the system. These are tick box exersizes carried out by a pen pusher who will be more interested in getting you in and out quickly. Your approach should be simple answers indicating that you have tried to get a job, but no success and you need UC as you do not have any other means of income or savings plus no family or friends can or are willing to help you financially. Keep it simple but they just want the boxes ticked to re-affirm and approval
No. Your question is by far the most common question I get on universal credit funnily enough. Unless you take the loan or overclaim for what you are entitled to you dont pay anything back bar any portion that was overclaimed for.
That's incorrect. The housing element is paid to the claimant and they pay it to the landlord. The claimant can request direct payment to the landlord if they have a history of debt, gambling, addiction or any other issue that makes it likely they will spend the money elsewhere.
Please ...hello my name is juma I'm Italian....at the .omens I'm working part time and I live in a hotel paid from company for homeless....can you tell me please ....if you know how many hours I have to doing a part time job'for getting all the universal credit for entire? Thanks a lot... Kindly regards Juma Di Giglio
You will need to ask Universal Credit because it can be complicated. The reason why is that how much you get depends on how much you earn from a job, how much children/family that money needs to support, your visa/residential status, disability status and your income from other sources. It could therefore range from £0 to £1000 per month for example. It is a very difficult question to answer as I dont know.
We as family registered still on Tax credit system, I am self employed, my wife as house house wife, 16 years old son (disable, severe learning difficulties) & 7 years old son. Which one is better for us (UC or Tax credit) ?
It's a pro's and con's situation. UC does have some extra flexibility but you are expected to follow certain obligations (job searching/part time work/proof you are trying to do certain things). It really comes down to two things. 1-Whether you will financially benefit from 1 more than the other and 2-What one works best for you. However, whilst I know the system I'm not an assessor so I'd seek advise from an assessor to answer as I wouldn't know a straight answer for you.
I wouldn't go onto to UC until you get moved onto it in your situation. If your wife gets carers allowance for your son there would be no pressure on her re:work. In respect of yourself you will be okay if you are earning the equivalent of 30 or 35 hours (not sure) at minimum wage. However, if your earnings are below that threshold there will be pressure put on you that isn't there on the tax credits system.
Universal Credit has been an absolute disaster wherever it has been trialed and cost more money to run than it takes in. It is there to force people into work and not worry about whether the work is suitable for them or not. They sanction people for the most trivial of reasons. You have to wait 5 weeks to receive any money, pushing people into abject poverty, or you can apply for an advance (which you have to pay back) and end up not being able to make ends meets. This shit has failed in every category it was allegedly meant to meet, but this apology for a government still persist with it.
For some ppl it's great. My neighbour works at Asda and they really struggle to persuade people to train up as supervisors. Why? Because it's a full time job and people say "'No thanks. I get a better deal than what you're offering by working 16 hrs plus universal credit." So basically they're earning MORE than their supervisors are, for doing a lot less work.
Will my mom's universal credit be affected if i'm 17 years old and work partime but also still in education? She is a single mom with me and my younger sister.

No. But I can see why people would be lead to think that. I believe it implies the state is giving away its money to who needs it 'universally', under the proviso that theyll pay it back via tax in future.
Apologies. I thought I had answered this. I cant condone it but speak to an independent mortgage advisor or another professional as it sounds clever but potentially dodgy
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions thanks for your reply. I'm surprised it may be dodgy, surely it's just paying off a debt. Is there nothing in the rules to tell us in black and white that it's ok to do this. I've tried searching online but can't find the answer. This must have been done by others with redundancy pay and a mortgage? I can't think why they wouldn't allow it?
I think the idea is good. But my concern of whether it may be dodgy is that you have knowingly used your savings to pay off your mortgage despite planning on claiming tax money after through Universal Credit. Its a bit like buying a diamond ring and then going busking and making out youre in financial hardship. So whilst its a clever idea Id seek professional independent advice as if that ever got found out by Universal Credit it could land you in hot water. Just to cover yourself.
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions hi, thanks a lot for your reply. It's just that I would have thought they would approve/allow on the basis it is your home you are securing, making sure you have a roof over your head etc. Otherwise surely we are more of a burden to them if they have to provide housing or help mith mortgage payments? I wonder if anyone else reading this has experienced this situation and can shed light on the prospects of it being acceptable?
When you ring them there is a huge board on the wall and it says 768 calls waitng ,they have to get rid off your call as soon as possible .If they some one will call you back that will never happen , if they say a payment will be in your bank by 5pm that will never happen. UC is a different department, a different payment structure & process and will inevitably replace tax credits in the next few years. Think of UC like a bad paying donation for the unemployed or low income employees and working tax credits as a donation to help with your tax payments. Hopefully that makes sense.
Dear sir, thank you for the information about UC i have been without job since April 2019, in our 4 bed semi detached house me and my wife lives my wife get pension and i am 62years old we have applied for UC but didn't get anything because my wife gets her pensions she worked since she was 17 years old and i have almost been working for last 35 years and never been on benefit we are paying house mortgage aswell and we are just managing on my wife's pensions. please advise what we can do. thank you.🙏🌹🌻🌹🙏.
Unfortunately not much you can do apart from look to get a job. The government dont want to pay you money to pay your mortgage. But to be fair I can understand why as your house equity is a financial asset so by paying UC the government is giving you tax money that youll profit upon. UC is meant to be a temporary benefit or for ppl in financial need. Not to pay mortgages. So as much as I feel for you your not going to get much as you have a financial asset in a mortgage.
Hasmukh Morker, Be careful we lost our home, we were in a similar situation as you are in, we were both working, had ok jobs, we started a family our lovely daughter was born in 2009, unfortunately we new things were wrong just after she was born, the medical staff said no every thing is ok, this went on for three months, it was obvious that my wife would have to finish work and go as a full time care’r to look after her, she had test done , we were told that our daughter was blind, she would not walk, would always be in a wheelchair, she has global development delay, is epileptic, had fits most days, I have worked all my working life from 16 years old, as I have got older I was taking a private pension payment each month from my first job this was £80 pounds a month, because of this the parasites in government have now decided to stop paying my benefit, when my wife went as a full time carer our wages went down to me only, it did not take Northern Rock long before they stuck the knife in, we got into arrears with the mortgage, six months later they repossessed, then after that, just to rub things in even more ,there was a short fall in the mortgage of 38 thousand pounds, how would we like to pay they asked, I said fuck off, we had to be declared Bankrupt, I would not wish that on my worst enemy, now today we have got through a lot, our daughter is doing better, she attends a special school and is doing well, I have wrote this to you and to anyone else, to be careful ,if you have to be in contact with the establishment because all of them are legalised crooks, your mortgage company do not give a toss, to you it’s your home, to them it’s only bricks and mortar, I am sorry for the long explanation, I hope you get things sorted, but you would not think that this Tory government could be so heartless, but that’s what is happening. Take care good luck.

It also says they’re still processing my claim but when I click on home it says on the 24th of feb they will tell me how much I’m going to get and on the 28th I will be paid any money I am entitled too. I’m confused because it says they are still processing my claim... do you no any thing about this?? Thanks
They should work it out soon enough. But keep the money aside as theyll randomly ask for it at a random point in future probably in 5 months or so. This is even if you declare it now. Expect it to make no sense and play dumb if you choose not to declare.
I have a question for you, What does mean exactly savings? I got couple of direct debit in my bank account from France but i need this money to buy a house, i'm a first time buyer, basically it is not a saving but money from my parents to buy a house here. So my question is: Savings means everything's that i have or just money in saving account such as ISA account. Thank you for your answer
Savings in the eyes of universal credit is literally any of your bank savings accounts. They want to see if you can use your own finances to support yourself rather than tax payer money. To be fair if thats house deposit money then thats money you could use to live on so thats why UC will want to know about it.
@@marcoboss5863 I feel your pain, but I can also understand that taxpayers wouldn't want people to be paid taxpayer money so they can buy a mortgage for themselves with it. That's a bit like saying I've lost my job but I still want to buy my dream car, can you cover my living costs so I can still buy the car I want. It's an incredibly frustrating scenario for you, but any savings in the eyes of HMRC are seen as money that can be used for you to live on. It doesn't differentiate mortgage savings to normal savings. They're just savings in the eyes of HMRC. It seem unfair, but that's how they do it.
What happens if you decide to move abroad to look for job or leave for a long period the UK. Do I have to give the money back? Is it enough to comunicate on the journal?
Good question. To my knowledge no, but you need to let them know immediately of any change in circumstances as if they overpay you for thing's your not entitled to due to being out of the UK, in that instance they'll want the overpayments back.
You stop being entitled to UC if out of the UK for 28 days or more at a single time. Upon return you can claim again but you may have to undertake a habitual residency test (HRT). As it’s based on a monthly basis, you would only have to pay back any money received after the 28 days outside the UK. Hope this helps
I've just put in my application and I had a message saying they will ring and I need to have id paperwork, bills ext. I've already conformed my identity via gov/post office. Do you know why I need all this paperwork for a phone call. Not sure what I can proove with a electricity bill over the phone 😕(feeling rather nervous about the whole thing)
They're verifying you are the same person who submitted the checks. Its for security. You wouldn't want it paid by accident to some fraudster would you. So the checks are for your benefit.
Hi🙋♀️ I currently already get UC but I’m 19 and will be a lone parent before I get told by them I’m not entitled to anything else can you tell me if I am e.g more child benefits and income support it it just more child benefits that I’m entitled to
Tbh I dont know. Theyll be some child benefit and possibly single parent allowance but without firstly being an assessor and secondly knowing your finances and other circumstance I wouldnt feel comfortable advising. Id suggest gov.uk, forums or citizens advice as first calls.
Because you need to make them aware. Hmrc's stance is that they presume you have savings, income through other routes or are self employed. With 67 million people in the UK they cant automatically know to be fair to them.
I live on household with private landlord. My advisor from NJSA recommend me to apply for UC. I don't want my Landlord to know about it? Do you know if they will call him if i Apply for it? Thank you in advance
The money for the rent if you claim will go direct to him anyway so he will end up finding out. Id advise to follow what your gut instinct says. Either front it out and risk an issue or go ahead and hope as long as he/she gets paid then who cares. Your call but theyll find out eventually

Hi ive been employed all my life never had to go on benefits but had my first child two weeks ago and after my maternity ends im going back to work for 24 hours a week, ive just been offered a house will I be entitled to housing benefit iam a single parent under 25, any help will be appreciated thank you
You should be offered housing support? Is it council/rented? If its mortgage then probably not. To be fair under 25 single parents do tend to get prioritised so you should be ok.

It would be cheeper just to give everybody that isn't in work a certain amount of money to live on each week and do away with all the red tap and civil servant's that police universe credits, I'm sure it would be possible as they are trialling it in other countries the now, but i haven't heared anything lately about it in the news.I just looked up that the uk government spends 60billion £ a year on it is that paying the civil servant's jobs aswell? I wonder?
The problem is the government want more income not outgoings. I like that idea but we love our red tape and potholes in this country. The money isnt distributed correctly. If it was that idea would be realistic but it isnt and we make no attempt to fix it.

I don’t know how I’m meant to look for work when I don’t have access to anything. I don’t have a computer, or proper internet at home! I can’t access my cv. I can’t afford to top up my phone too often so making outgoing phone calls is a struggle too. Then there’s the fact I don’t actually know what to do in an interview. Then there’s the side problem of depression/anxiety/panic attacks I get in stressful situations (which the job centre is on the top of that list) I want a part time job but need one on one help and get none. Oh and I’ve no references which means that part of the application form is always blank
Sounds tough. If you can comment on watch on youtube then the internet you have will do. The job id recommend is amazon at the warehouse because they call you, theyll say come to the local amazon warehouse at x tine and as long as you turn up the jobs yours. But if you dont live near an amazon depot simply apply to similar warehouse competitor companies as their process is the same. No interview, no cv interest, no problem.
My partner has child tax credit. She is a single parent and has 2 children. I came to the UK last two years ago and decided to move in with her this 2020 and have a new born baby now. I have claimed UC but I don’t understand what the take-home pay is. I’m eligible to the £409.89 but haven’t received anything because of that take home pay🤷🏽♀️ could you explain what that is?
The way it works is that youre earnings and savings are taken into account first and the amount eligible for is taken off that but...it takes usually around 5 weeks to get your money
I’m a full time student who hasn’t been able to get student finance and I’m not able to work part time due to a disability - am I able to claim universal credit?
Great! Someone told me that I’d need to prove I was looking for work in order to receive UC, but would this not apply given my circumstances? (student etc...)
My visa is is indefinite leave to remain . I came to uk in 2018. My baby was born March 2022. I got ILR on march2023. Am I eligible to apply for universal credit
Universal Credit monthly calculations are flawed as in the old system benefits were paid every two weeks, some months have 5 weeks. Payments cannot be the same amount every month due to there being months with 31 days not 30 even taking into account February shortfalls people will lose money. Payment calculation should be based on days per month only.
Correct Legacy benefits paid weekly 52 payments a year U/C paid monthly up to a max of 12 payments a year Four weeks in a month 12 x 4 = 48 weeks Four weeks short every year Same applies to housing benefit Also people on UC must pay a percentage of council tax This wasn't the case with legacy benefits One of the factors why poll tax was scrapped Being the fact the unemployed could not afford to pay it A single person on U/C gets the same amount as a single person on ESA The benefit of pushing people on to ESA is it makes the unemployment figures look better As only those signing on are counted as unemployed Those on ESA on the whole are exempt from signing on
A friend of mine needs to change the security questions because she didn't make a note of them when she set up her account. Is there a video about how to change them? Could you add a link to that? Thanks a lot!
Hello, if universal credit pays you monthly, do you have to pay that money back one day? I am a bit confused! ... this money is not advance payment, thier regular payment due to your low sallary. Thanks
If the DWP decides you have been paid more UC than they believe you were entitled to it will have to be paid back at a later date. For example, if you did some overtime which took you over their earnings threshold. When I was working part time (net pay £600) on 1 month I got about £80 (towards rent only) second month net pay was £700 and got 1pence (towards rent only) 3rd month my net pay was £650 and they cancelled my claim because they said I earned too much! My full rent was £560 at the time and left me with a lot of rent arrears because of this draconian benefit.
What if my last 3 months of payslips are furlough slips and they don't show my hourly wage or basic week. It just shows how much I received each week as furlough?
Presumably your payslip still contains a national insurance number? Plus your furlough is 80% of your guaranteed basic. With that info there is enough to calculate a claim from their end.
Hi! What happens if I claim UC ( with my partner and 1 child) and later I have to reduce my working hours?( I already work only 30 hours a week.) Will I get more from UC? And how will I know that I would get enough?
UC is generally recalculated by computer automatically every month. If there is a change with your household income it'll correct itself. Two things to be mindful of: 1-if your income changes weekly, UC may not adjust until it's own monthly software re-adjustment kicks in which could catch you out. 2-it's designed to not be enough money so people do not become reliant on UC.
I'm 17 and 18 next month I tried to claim my universal credit just now so I would have it on my 18th birthday but apparently I have to wait till my 18th to make a claim then the process will take 5 weeks till I get my first payment so I'm skint till November it's a bloody joke. Quite happy to give it to people who have never worked in there life but then when work stops due to a pandemic I can't get money.
Thats an expansive question. A 5 step plan is best to keep things simple. 1-draw up a cv and look up examples on google images as a reference point. 2-register you're cv on cv library, totaljobs and indeed. 3-apply for realistic jobs you're likely to be considered for. 4-if you get an interview do whatever it takes to attend asap. 5-follow up any interview with a thank you email. Hope that helps
I work 12 hours a week and started UC last week and my work coach said to do 22 hours a week of preparation for work, training and looking for jobs? How do I do 22 hours a week of that? I’m super confused in what I need to do?
Im not sure. 22 hours a week? Thats nearly 4 and a half hours a day monday to friday. Id ask what they expect you to do during that time but id presume theyd say applying for jobs. An hour a day is fine as how many jobs are you really likely to get? Four hours a day just seems overkill
The general expectation is that you spend 35 hours per week undertaking activities that are related to jobs each. You're already working 12 hours, so the rest is to take it up to approx 35. This is not only time applying for jobs, but looking for jobs, contacting potential employers directly, time spent writing applications, rewriting your cv etc. Job related activities.
Of course, most of this is done online, so it is actually relatively easy to make up to 35. However, if you have any health conditions, or other issues, that make it harder for you to complete job search activities, you MUST discuss this with your work coach, as your claimant commitment should be tailored to you and your situation.
Is it possible my universal credit application to be refused because my postcode is black listed or sort of... and if yes, how i can check my postcode eligibility ?
You're employer should still send you a paycheck. It can be emailed. I'd ask but if not then use your bank statement as proof via a scan or photo. Should still be allowed.

Thanks for putting this together.
Thanks again, your videos are very informative.
Perhaps im just a sceptic as I say but you see a pattern emerging where by if there is an angle to save money the system will.
I sort of don't understand this whole thing, is universal credit something you will have to pay back or no?

UC will cut pension credit and attendance allowance?
Possibly. UC will be calculated using a few things and sometimes those can affect how much is paid out.

If you're below the official retirement age then HMRC will either want you working to pay tax or financially self sufficient. But the problem is if you have legitimate health conditions they're more like pen pushers than human beings when considering circumstances. Best to stay on UC for now unless you have a viable financial alternative.

What's the situation if The person who's Applying for universal credit have savings

@@Thailand-mt9op they seemed to believe I had savings which didn't exist.

The idea is the landlord gets paid directly and the money bypasses your account.
That's incorrect. The housing element is paid to the claimant and they pay it to the landlord. The claimant can request direct payment to the landlord if they have a history of debt, gambling, addiction or any other issue that makes it likely they will spend the money elsewhere.

Was this video made by MTV 20 years ago?
Howd you guess?

By the way, did you cover the 5 week wait to receive any money whatsoever from them? Apologies if you did, but I don't recall you doing so.

Hi
Can I use redundancy pay to pay off my mortgage, then claim Universal Credit because I have less than 6k savings?

What’s the difference between UC and Working tax credit?
UC is a different department, a different payment structure & process and will inevitably replace tax credits in the next few years. Think of UC like a bad paying donation for the unemployed or low income employees and working tax credits as a donation to help with your tax payments. Hopefully that makes sense.

Savings in the eyes of universal credit is literally any of your bank savings accounts. They want to see if you can use your own finances to support yourself rather than tax payer money.
The way it works is that youre earnings and savings are taken into account first and the amount eligible for is taken off that but...it takes usually around 5 weeks to get your money
I’m a full time student who hasn’t been able to get student finance and I’m not able to work part time due to a disability - am I able to claim universal credit?
Yes. I dont see why not
Great! Someone told me that I’d need to prove I was looking for work in order to receive UC, but would this not apply given my circumstances? (student etc...)
If you had a student loan thats different or an education type fund or grant, but otherwise you can apply
I’m 17 , unemployed and live in an under average income house hold and my mum doesn’t claim child benefits is it possible for me to claim it?
Also I have clinical depression for the past 4 years and I have all the paperwork for it too , I also struggle severely to learn because of it
Yes. You can claim
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions thank you this video was very helpful 👍
@@Dtrapz2rich you should claim PIP and your mother can claim carers allowance if she meets the daily hours needed to help care for you
Every body's circumstances are different, so bare that IN YOUR MIND! !!!!!!!!!!!!
My visa is is indefinite leave to remain . I came to uk in 2018. My baby was born March 2022. I got ILR on march2023. Am I eligible to apply for universal credit
Do we have to repay the universal credit
No
Universal Credit monthly calculations are flawed as in the old system benefits were paid every two weeks, some months have 5 weeks. Payments cannot be the same amount every month due to there being months with 31 days not 30 even taking into account February shortfalls people will lose money. Payment calculation should be based on days per month only.
Its almost designed not help people isnt it.
Correct
Legacy benefits paid weekly
52 payments a year
U/C paid monthly up to a max of 12 payments a year
Four weeks in a month
12 x 4 = 48 weeks
Four weeks short every year
Same applies to housing benefit
Also people on UC must pay a percentage of council tax
This wasn't the case with legacy benefits
One of the factors why poll tax was scrapped
Being the fact the unemployed could not afford to pay it
A single person on U/C gets the same amount as a single person on ESA
The benefit of pushing people on to
ESA is it makes the unemployment figures look better
As only those signing on are counted as unemployed
Those on ESA on the whole are exempt from signing on

A friend of mine needs to change the security questions because she didn't make a note of them when she set up her account. Is there a video about how to change them? Could you add a link to that? Thanks a lot!
Youve got me there. Can any other subscribers advise? Ill have a look on other resources and come back to you.
From what I can find they cannot be changed. The solution is request a change of circumstances or make a fresh application and withdraw the old one.
Set up text OTP security on your claim. If you can't answer security questions you get OTP which you have to give to operator.
Can you claim if your 16 or 17 and not living with parents
www.gov.uk/universal-credit/eligibility you can but only under these circumstances
I know a person who is 17 and does not stay with family just sofa surfing with friends but has no proper place to stay
Theyd need a fixed address from a paperwork perspective to make a claim
I'm 17 and 18 next month I tried to claim my universal credit just now so I would have it on my 18th birthday but apparently I have to wait till my 18th to make a claim then the process will take 5 weeks till I get my first payment so I'm skint till November it's a bloody joke. Quite happy to give it to people who have never worked in there life but then when work stops due to a pandemic I can't get money.
The system is slow, has a load of red tape and doesnt care too much about claimants financial problems.
@Chris Longden it's all right bud got back into work now. Cheers for the advice though
Is the universal credit paying then pair a child or there is a curt
It pays top for the first child and reduced thereafter
Could you help give me advice on how to look for jobs and save them? I don’t quite understand please x
Revorec Recruitment Solutions thank you so much! I’ll take upon it all. Hope you are all well and safe x
However, if you have any health conditions, or other issues, that make it harder for you to complete job search activities, you MUST discuss this with your work coach, as your claimant commitment should be tailored to you and your situation.
thanks for your help,
Is it possible my universal credit application to be refused because my postcode is black listed or sort of... and if yes, how i can check my postcode eligibility ?
To be honest I don't know the answer to that question. You could ask citizens advice. My apologies.
No, there isn't a blacklisting due to postcode. Anyone from any postcode can claim.
I havent had physical paychecks in the last 3 months due to being furloughed. I only have my bank statement as proof of income, so what do I do here?
You're employer should still send you a paycheck. It can be emailed. I'd ask but if not then use your bank statement as proof via a scan or photo. Should still be allowed.
@@RevorecRecruitmentSolutions And many people are having to wait up to 11 weeks just to get an appointment despite the fact they were warned there would be a huge uptake of benefits after the lockdown.
