I have had my child tax credits stopped because i got a migration notice and had no choice but to apply, the child tax credits which are for my nephews now they will go without the things they need, what has universal credit got to do with child tax credits and forcing people to go to work in my situation i live with my mum who has mouth cancer and needs my help for phonecalls or making appointments picking up medication ect and recently she had a biopsy that she has cancer in her cheek even though i have made it clear that i am not looking for work and not ready they still say that i am its not right or fair when i have to be there to support my mother through this difficult time, they just dont care and talk over you about your next appointment. I will be taking this further.

I was put on UC as a full time carer in 2018. I had rent arrears of £150 so my housing costs were paid direct from the start . 6 months later I had rent arrears of £6,000 ! I have paid of £2,000 for rent arrears via deductions . I have been living on £90 a week to run house and my costs as a carer . I have been food banks as well . I get battered with arrears from so called previous arrears I had no idea about . In 5 years I have paid £6,000 in total of arrears combined . I cannot survive and very stressed I cannot give up caring role as the person I care for will become extremely poorly
Some councils offer a discretionary housing payment to help with housing costs though its not a large amount. You could also look into hardship payment from UC

the uk government is legally bound by law , under the human rights act to protect the welfare of its citizens, with this in mind how can they legally impose sanctions upon people leaving them with no means to feed themselves, every uk citizen is entitled to this right from the day they are born in this country, so how can they make demands on you to get universal credit, they have to look out for your wellbeing by law, you are not bound by law to do anything to get Universal credit, so how can they tell you , you have to attend a mandatory meeting , and if you dont stop your only form of income
Had to finish work on ill health was put esa until health assessment 77 pounds a week after assessment I get 259 every 2 week then on 19th universal credit and limited capability I should receive but the the esa is deducted from it which leaves 197 on 19th so giving me with one hand and then taking it off me can't afford my mortgage and bills

Suppose me and wife have under 16k savings together - what is classed as low income per month. ? I'm self employed and wife works part time. do we qualify. I earn around 4k a month. do I qualify?
Why should you get anything with savings of that magnitude...people are struggling with no savings and have to rely on the pittance whilst you claim what you don't need to...I suppose you had the full benefit of furlough as well...pay it back
Your very lucky to receive benefits on 4k per month. How did you manage to secure UC? I know a few individuals on 1500 with children and are not eligible for UC.
I agree, welfare should be stopped, forcing people to make good life choices. Completely agree. Why should i work 80 hours a week so lazy bums can sit inside in their PJS all day.
Nobody should do eighty hours a week but they make so easy for people on benefit and employers don't want to employ them does it pay people to go to work
