My gosh! Amazing, such a professional. Proof of why Mobile DJ’s should get top dollar compared to the other vendors at events. I couldn’t imagine any other vendor being that prepared with so much stuff. Great video!
But we just show up and play music right? 😂 Seriously, I appreciate this. When you’re being paid thousands of dollars to DJ peoples most important celebrations you need to be organized and prepared. The mark of a professional is not how well you do when things go right it’s how well you do when everything goes wrong. We don’t get second chances and that’s how I approach everything, including my bag. 😉 Thanks for your time be check this out.
Greetings Rachel from Central NY! Another great video. I just got some combo XLR/IEC cables a few weeks ago. Wish I had them years ago. Appreciate this video. Lots of great back up ideas I had never thought of having. 👍👍
Aren’t they the best??? Seriously I couldn’t believe how much better my setup looked with them and how much easier wire management was. Totally worth the money!! Thanks for stopping by the channel!
Good job Rachel. You cannot predict what might happen at a gig and, like you, need to carry as much backup accessories as you can. I carried most of what you do, tailored for our (older) rig, such as various RCA connectors & cables, extra wired mics, backup power amp, mixer, small tool set, and first aid kit. I also carried a roll of paper towels for those occasional drink spills, napkins, plastic fork/knife/spoon sets (for when the venue runs out during the cocktail hour), a DBX GoRack, if the worst-case scenario happens to our Numark mixers, for peace of mind. And a bottle of Aspirin lol. After 20 years on the wedding circuit, EclecticSongs decided to call it quits. 2023 was our last season, but I still love watching your videos. I guess the next phase, unfortunately, will be AI taking over the trade.
Thanks for taking the time to check this out! I appreciate it a lot. ☺️ I actually have a different small backpack with other "emergency" things, like pain meds, a first aid kit, extra deodorant, extra socks, eyedrops, touch-up makeup, etc. I keep "personal items" separate so they are easier to find and keep the weight down in my gig bag. As for AI… I'm not too concerned. There is no empathy in its work. There is no passion in its work. There is no intuition in its work. There is no relationship or trust. These things MATTER a lot in what we do. If the pandemic taught us anything, it’s that people crave connections and human interaction. I’m not worried about being replaced by AI. Mathematical predictions and generic formulas won't replace in-the-moment experiences and spontaneous creativity. Those who value talent and professionalism will continue to seek out those they know, like, and trust… not robots. If all a DJ does is play a playlist from start to finish… then yes, they should be worried. But those who DJ with creativity, talent, and great MC work will be around for a long time to come. Some restaurants deliver food via robots and drive-throughs, while others have friendly wait staff and fantastic customer experiences where it’s “fun” to dine out. Some people are okay with getting their food handed through a window in a paper bag or having a robot drop off their drinks, while others want to be catered to or interact with people at a bar with a real bartender. Ultimately, the DJ will be at the mercy of what the customer values, generic AI formulas, or real authentic experiences with a human who cares and experiences empathy and excitement. It’s no different than a bride looking to use a Spotify playlist (the drive-through) versus hiring a DJ (the restaurant). We won’t change their minds, and that’s okay.
@@DJRachelLynch I agree with your reply. I think with your level of clientele, (high end), you shouldn't have to worry. People are willing to pay for creativity and services such as yours, and won't accept an AI DJ. Unfortunately, in our low income area, only about half of our brides were more able to afford a high end DJ service. The others wanted the lowest price possible, but we did them because my boss DJ Linda Terricola felt sorry for their lack of budget. Some of those venues had a horrendous load in/out, iffy food, and a long drive through uncharted territories, where even Google Maps couldn't help us :) I think those people would be the the ones to use a DJ-in-a-can app as it matures. Keep your videos coming. I really enjoy watching your professionalism and enthusiasm. 👍
I love the XLR plug holder I can’t stand fighting with the way I roll them up I want to buy that set great bag with everything that is needed. Thank you for the info
I keep almost all of what you keep in your bag in each on of my dj set ups just to keep my back pack a little lighter. But yeah, I def keep one of everything you mention in each on of my set ups.
💯❤️ I have multiple booths (black and white) so I’d be buying double of everything. If I didn’t I’d constantly forget stuff, so having one heavy ass bag works better for me. 😂
@@DJRachelLynch I’ve got two main set ups, my white toad, and then my rolling rack case I use for facades.. I got to the point where I was tired of being like I grabbed that right, knowing i did, and was like it’ll be far easier, granted expensive, to stock them both with everything.
Great video. I have different things in my carry bag, but I have a tote with all the exact same cables and more. I even have door stops as well, though I did like the one you showed better!👍
Great video! Nice to see some ideas of what else to add to my kit. I agree that the outlet tester is a necessity - it's the first thing I use at every gig :)
Looking forward to owning this bag one day! I'm trying to carry in less and less of them, and also have everything/most of what I need in as few places as possible. Appreciate you walking through all of the gear and getting my wheels turning as always!
You have some very cool products in this video. I may just have to invest in some. Wedding season is upon us, my first one is April 6th of the season. Here we go!!!!
I have a “keyboard case” and screen protector that goes on it most of the time, but when I GIG I have a basic clear rubber case that’s thin enough to work with my “holder” that attaches to my speaker pole. Otter box does make nice stuff. Thanks for checking this out! ☺️
Took a little downtown to relax, but 2024 is shaping up to be a fantastic year with lots of new stuff! Thanks for your support and time to be here. 🫡 #OCDDJSUNITED
I have an extra old iPhone I've been trying to find a purpose for. Never thought of keeping it around as a backup music player! I could just keep a playlist going on a loop and add it to the mixer on mute in case the laptop crashes or for whatever reason the music drops.
@DJRachelLynch So when all is said & done with everything packed in that monster, how much does it weigh? You should have gone the extra mile in your vid here by putting it on a scale for us to see 😜🙂
If I’m taking an educated guess?? 40LBS? 😅💪🏻 What helps is the fact that I’m not carrying a controller or mixer in this, so I’ve filled it up with other crap. 😂 #nogymmembershiprequired
Hey Rachel, I noticed you have a Furman power strip now. Did you stop using the D’Addario? Were there issues with it? What do you use for a conditioner?
It's really well-made and personally branded with high-quality embroidery. I don't think it's unreasonable for the build quality and size of this bag. I beat the crap out of this thing and have probably exceeded the weight limit too. 😂 All the zippers feel like butter and the seams are still perfect. I'm too forgetful to have things in two bags, so this was the right move for me, but if you have a system that works for you, keep rockin' it. 🙂 I have thousands of dollars in this bag so I needed something I knew would keep it safe and organized. Haven’t found a better solution than this.
Picked up a couple of must get upgrades out of this vid.. Great stuff. I'm so glad Mojaxx featured you. ✌
