I love how the Scarlet Judge feels like something straight out of old Bethesda humor that we saw in Morrowind and Daggerfall. A very welcome return to that.
That side quest was one of the first I did when starting ESO and it really endured me to the game, even if I fell out of love with the combat. I still wanted to keep going for the tales.
This is so GREAT I just stumbled upon this channel and high respect for the time and dedication that went into bringing forth all these stories, lore, things buried a little bit deeper in the universe that not everyone may have caught. Extremely grateful
Listening to these shows just how much you’ve really improved as a creator over the years. I remember your Cliva Tharn video from years back and hearing it again today, wow. It sounded like you were narrating from a wardrobe in the next room! Long may the excellent work continue. Oh and Ribena. 😉
Yay!❤❤ The length of this compilation is amazing, and the stories are detailed/niche enough that many details are novel to me. I put it on loop before sleeping as a calming comfort blanket. 🎉 Thank you for your creativity and passion!
I always felt bad for the grey prince and his family but hearing the whole story is even more tragic. I mean was it messed up for his father to marry someone without addressing his vampirism. Absolutely. But is locking him away forever a fair response? Absolutely not. Can I understand her reasoning? Also yes. But still its rather horrific to imagine.
And to think. He essentially had ZEROBODY but his thoughts until you come along. He spent at least a decade trapped in a jail cell and we blame him for going insane??? In the words of our favorite jester, “now THATS madness…” Edit: punctuation
Red Bramman was a human and was called that because he had red hair before that card of him came out. So everyone called Bethesda out for not reading their own lore when they made him an Argonian with red skin. He was famous for being one of the first humans ever to venture into Black Marsh. In fact, him being a human is central to Argonian lore. His brutal, colonizer actions in Black Marsh is the cause of Argonians distrusting humans.
And Cyrodiil was supposed to be a jungle. And Ebonarm was supposed to exist. And the Nords were supposed to be interesting. Not to mention the constant changing appearance of Uriel Septim VII in between games. It's called unreliable narrator with occasional retconning.
I kind of like it honestly, it's ironic that history records him as a human but reality shows he's an Argonian who let pirates and cutthroats exploit his own people.
You can always just chalk it up to the whole unreliable narrator type storytelling of Elder Scrolls lore. However, now that I know that, it's really funny and unsurprising that Bethesda would fuck up like that.😂 Oh well.
@Mateus_Pereira_Silva the Imperial city was also suposed have grown in the thousand years since the Aykids built the original circil spilling out across the entire island and into the lake itself with evince style canels between buildings
Now that was quite the long compilation. A good review of some older videos I saw as well as some I've missed. I curiously look forward to what has yet to come. Whenever that may be. Also for my answer that in-video query, I don't drink alcohol. So I'll just go with plain water.
@@ImperialKnowledge ; I see. Well it was a long video, so the music editing is understandable. As for non-alcoholic beverages, its summer so maybe lemonade, or maybe you could try finding lore on some non-alcoholic Elder Scrolls beverage and seeing how close you can make an IRL equivalent?
14:01 In the Daggerfall Chronicles book, the author writes that the "first" is definitely not her firstborn child, and it's intentionally vague because that story is supposed to be continued in the sequel. It seems that the plot thread was abandoned, though, so who knows what's canon. They could easily retcon it if they wanted.
Malkur Valos sounds like a very interesting character given his backstory being raised in Oblivion. I’ve been planning another mage build that I’ve wanted to spice up some and wondered what would happen if I had the mage spend a prolonged amount of time in Oblivion.
The Real Barenziah books now make sense. Ah, an emperor that felt like a fusion between a Roman emperor and king Solomon. The meninauts are suddenly a bigger more interesting mystery than the dwemer and Akaviri combined!
16:48 i think the first thingy that Mannimarco was talking about was her virginity. As there is no definitive truth that she had sex with anyone before the king and Mannimarco.
The idea that Morgiah went to a lich and offered: "I'll get down and dirty with you if you let me have this favor," and it WORKING FOR HER is hilarious. Imagine Mannimarco taking that up as a good deal. "You'll sleep with me? Absolutely fantastic trade. 100% on board with this. Love that, looking forward to breaking you hymen." And here I was thinking Morgiah gave Mannimarco the results of a pregnancy that didn't make it to full term, and so wouldn't typically be counted among her children. A necromancer like Mannimarco being given a dead baby would probably be more than stoked about that (for research reasons at the very least) and so would call that a deal satisfied, even if it had a bit of uncertainty around how legit that trade would be according to other people.
I wish man that would be so funny. But no, in dagger fall it’s said her child and heir *isnt* her first born as a rumor, if I’m right? This is second hand knowledge, I never played daggerfall
Actually, one of the fan theories for Oblivion, is that the first born son was secretly given to Mannimarco and was hollowed out “spiritually” to become a vessel for him, so that once Necromancer’s Moon was enacted he would still be able to walk Nirn. Hence, you see Mannimarco again in Oblivion. Another is that the Mannimarco from Oblivion is that child from Morgiah raised by Mannimarco, and is masquerading as Mannimarco himself after Necromancer’s Moon which would explain why he was so weak in Oblivion. He isn’t the real deal.
I found your channel a few months ago dude! I download your videos and listen to them at work to get through the monotony. I appreciate the long content and lore deep dives! Hoping when ES6 comes out it gives the channel a huge boost in engagement! Ps have you considered doing a video on the lessons of vivec book?
Thing about Theddaus O could have sworn we already did a quest with him before in the Clockwork City DLC. Cause when I did that quest in Greymoor I swear I already knew about him from Clockwork City.
if i had to guess one method Red bramman avoided Imperial capture at sea, it would likely be Intentionally sinking his ship then when the imperials are gone use Air balloons with some magic lift the ship from the sea floor. Argonians can breath under water so that one way to avoid detection.
My only complaint with casually watching elder scrolls video in the background is that every single person pronounces every name so differently it takes me forever to realize who we’re talking about xD can we get like an official pronunciation dictionary or something everyone can agree on lol
And half the time a name that began only in text is given an official pronunciation, most the fanbase dislikes it so much they refuse to use it (ehem, CHIM... we can all agree to ignore ESO's Nerevarine though, right?) - oh, and some names even the games are inconsistent with.
Why do you keep saying Helseth and Morgiah are half siblings? Every source I can find states they are both children of Queen Barenziah, and General Symmachus.
From the point of «Clivia Thorn» it sounds like you recorded in a different state of mind or something. Other than that I am glad this whole thing was put together, nice work dude!
Do you think of the gray princess mother was the one who was a vampire he would be an actual full on vampire or when a human father still make him a half breed
At this point I hope that Bethesda loses the rights to The Elders Scrolls IP because the don’t want to expand the work and lore in any way. The literally said the will never talk about any continents outside of Tamriel. There are about 5 of them.
