Thanks Ken, Yesterday we booked 9 days at this resort and last night I worried that we'd made a mistake. You never know what you're going to get in Cuba. We watched your video and now feel so much better. Actually looking forward to getting there. You're the best.
BEAUTIFUL!!! Hubby and I, along with another couple are heading there first week of April, we can't wait!!! Looks like we'll have a new home away from home. Thanks so much for sharing this walk-through, it gave us a fantastic perspective. 😊
Yes! Please do walk throughs like this. Love the style. Being largely unedited definitely shows the bigger picture of where everything is. I really want to visit here now. (as if seeing that gorgeous suite of yours wasn't enough). Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Safe travels.
I’ve been watching your recent vacation videos so I had to make sure I watched the complete walk through from before. Looks like a nice place to vacation!
Great video! My wife and I are returning next month for our 13th. visit. Each time we return we feel like we're home. As for the building you were asking about, it is for the maintenance and gardeners. Can't wait to see everyone again!!! Thanks
Thank you so much for these! It's always hard to find quality walk throughs and recent, people that do these are the real MVP's. We did Melia CSM and loved it. - Krystle signed into my son's account by mistake lol
Excellent vlog..been here 5 times from England..we remember this beautiful place before the hurricane..made many friends in that amazing place .. thanks for sharing.✈️🇨🇺🌹🎶♥️
We were here in 2018 and although it was a little more 'rustic' than other hotels we had visited we absolutely loved it and the vibe there. Less than a year after Irma, it was amazing how much they had fixed a rebuilt. Great video.
Respectfully, and to promote a fair perspective, one should also venture into other towns and cities, rather than just Havana. Like most major cities, slums are more prevalent there. There are so many beautiful community focused populaces that need to be experienced. I recommend blended visits, do some days at a resort, but the majority of your time in a little apartment rental in Trinidad, Cienfuegos or Santa Clara for example. There is so much to do, see and experience. Watching how Cubans support, love band care for their less fortunate citizens changes ones view of humanity. Forming a fair assessment of ‘Cuba’ in general after one visit to one place isn’t really fair. I live in a beautiful Canadian city, and since the pandemic, poverty and homelessness has taken a major turn for the worst here too. I’ve lived independently in more than 12 towns and cities, have stayed at all of Cuba’s resort areas in over 20 different hotels. I’m not saying the slums don’t exist in Havana and other places, but am hoping that by having a broader experience of Cuba, education will broaden ones perspective.
We booked the other night for a Feb vacay! Loved seeing your video. Brought back wonderful memories of when we were down there at Christmas 2019! The best place we've ever stayed at in Cuba!!
We liked it. We found the service was excellent. Very quiet, great place to relax. They do have a shuttle that goes Melia Las Dunas which has more to offer@@Ken_Domik
How deep is the turquoise blue water? Is the clear water deep enough to reach my chest if i am 5'4? I don't like seeing the dark water, im hoping it's really far back ...
Loved this video! Great job! I’m thinking about booking 2 weeks in March. Do they have a minibar in rooms?I need to drink water overnight. What about mosquitoes? Finally how quiet is this resort? Looking to get away from parties and rowdy crowds. Thx again
Hey Ken, great video, very helpful thank you. We are going to be there for Christmas from Montreal; as you know rules are changing with Omicron, have no idea what's going to happen, the unknown! Looking forward for my vacation!
Hi I will go to Melia Cayo Coco in june 2022. I just want to know where is the better place to stay for tranquility and If theres a place on the beach who is more silent. Thank You!
Thanks so much for the awesome video! My husband and I watched all your videos on Cuba and this one made us decide on this one. We feel like we already know the place and all the little tips there are to know. We are leaving on May 14th. Would you suggest tipping in US or Cdn? We are Canadians. I’m curious to know if the prices for the beer on the bus are in US?
Hey Ken- any possibility on a video explaining the new currency process there? I know the CUCs are gone. What are the options/expectations with the CUPs, paying and tipping now. Love your videos and so glad you're back to travelling to Cuba. My favs.
I exchanged my Canadian cash into Pesos at the resort but a person I met there brought 100 $1 dollar US Bills and tipped that. I gave $20 Peso tips which is a little over $1 Canadian dollar. Just don't bring Canadian coins, they can't exchange them in Cuba
Hey Ken great vid. I'm curious how Melia Cayo Coco compares to Melia Las Dunas in Cayo Santa Maria? A few years ago when we were researching places to go in Cuba we came across your Melia Las Dunas vids and decided to book there and we loved it and have been back there twice!! We are planning another trip soon but after watching your vids of Melia Cayo Coco we are debating if we should try there or go back to our favorite spot! Thanks for all the great vids keep it up!
Hi Ken we have decided to come to Melia after watching this and we're glad we came. I must be honest thou, some of us experienced some descrimination from couple of employees. We addressed the issue to the manegers. Overall we are satisfied with very much everything offered to us.
hi Ken, I love Cayo Coco, I'm going in February to the Pullman (next resort over). How's the beach? ..Is Lenny's open? ...Did it take long to clear customs at the airport due to covid?... lots of questions I know 😀
Covid restrictions were the same as Ontario Canada so no big deal. Walking around the resort and beach you didn't have to wear a mask. In the Buffet and at the bar while ordering a drink
I am wondering can you have breakfast at the beach restaurant instead of always eating in the hotel buffet? Also, can you order calamari at the beach restaurant at lunchtime? p.s. I like your video style.
Hi Ken, thank you for the great video. I was just wondering what the age demographic looked like at this resort. I know its 18+ but did the crowd tend to be more seniors or young adults?
I learned from my experience at a Mexican resort. We need to rate the entire resort experience. The facilities at this resort are, at best, a two star rating. Older,…. worn,…. dated buildings; low maintenance, if any, grounds-keeping. But if the food is good, rooms are clean, beach is good, pools are acceptable, staff is good, we should not care. Just enjoy. That’s as good as as 4.5 star resort. And….don’t tell too many people. Otherwise, next season you won’t be able to book a holiday there.
Actually, the food here is very good. The buffet varies in theme nightly and you always have the option of an big variety of fresh grilled fish and seafood.
Looks like a nice place. Only problem is I'd have to move to Canada, live in Canada long enough to become a citizen, and then I could go. That or wait for my country's government to get it's head out of where the sun doesn't shine.
@@Ken_Domik I was told that if you go the way that Ken says,Cuban immigration do Bo stamp your passport so that you have no trouble getting back into the USA.
Enjoyed this video. My wife and I are thinking about a trip and this place was recommended to us. Your video has helped us a lot. Thank you.
This Walkthrough was the best I ever experienced! Thank you for that!
You're very welcome!

Thanks Ken... I'm about to add the link to this vid to our group chat, you should get a small bump in views.
Love this walkthrough Ken, thanks for doing this. Seems like an awesome spot for a vacay.

Definite yes to the walkthroughs!

You havent really experienced Cuba until you venture into the slums of Havana
One day I will
That would be cool. But if you want to video it, just be careful

We just got back from Melia Buenavista. We are thinking of going to Melia Cayo Coco and we really like your detailed videos, very informative
How did you like Melia Buenavista?
We liked it. We found the service was excellent. Very quiet, great place to relax. They do have a shuttle that goes Melia Las Dunas which has more to offer@@Ken_Domik
Did they have like any nice juices at the bar to mix the rum drinks with or was it just the slushie stuff?
your video is great. Do you know where the classic rooms are situated? Are they close to lobby?
It's a very small resort so everything isn't too far away
How deep is the turquoise blue water? Is the clear water deep enough to reach my chest if i am 5'4?
I don't like seeing the dark water, im hoping it's really far back ...
You can walk out about 30 -50 feet before it goes over your head. Some of the darker spots are sea grass
Merci vous êtes un bon cinéaste 😂 et vous donnez de bonnes explications, bel endroit j y suis allé et je vais y retourner 😊
Very good video, thank you!

Everything is accessible. We met many people that had mobility issues that stayed there. Even people in wheelchairs
We've been there Aug, Oct, Nov, Feb and March, all good months to go. Oct - Nov are the cheapest times
