A bit of an apple fanboy i see. In europe the price for a macbook pro m1 is 2700€ while the msi sells for 1700€...
Have a Z16 and using Adobe, DaVinci, SketchUp with no hiccups or issues. Games, too (but only occasionally). Love this device.

I would like to have HDMI to do Premiere Pro work for UA-cam videos, but I cannot remember the last time I've been in a "meeting", especially one that needs a presentation.
Finding a Laptop has been ridiculously difficult.

I have MBP 16 pre M1 chip. The best thing about this unit is the trackpad. However when doing rendering with resolve or even just a simple iMovie conversion the fans would kick in and it would sound like a hair dryer. Maybe they fixed that with the M1 chip. Aside from soldering of parts aesthetic beauty along with trackpad. Don't see much advantage in value since the units are not upgradable or repairable by the end user.

Decent review but it's not fair to compare apples best cpu when not using the best available for the msi. There is also an i9 version. i7 against m1 max isn't fair tho the i7 did very well beating it in a number of scenarios

I have a Macbook Pro and would like to update to MacBook Pro Max... unfortunately 3D applications that would benefit from the upgrade are only available or optimized for Intel processors / NVidia graphics cards, resulting in a very few options... MSI Creator Z16 being one of them.
yeah, if only they offer intel/nvidia version. it would be nice. i think waiting for razer blade 16 is more worth than waiting for Apple silicon gen 2.
yeah I'm in the same boat as software developer. There are work arounds but the last thing I want to be doing is working around for everything install or need. Awesome performance but limited in use.
3d apps and 3ds max availability only on Windows is the main reason why I'm gonna choose MSI, also I can play most of the games in free time.

I really do not like the huge MBP trackpad. I've used them several times at work and its fine, but I feel like the trackpad gets in my way. My 2015 trackpad never felt small. It does the job. But its not under my palms either.

Has anyone use Z16 for music production or recording? with ableton and cubase? I saw a review on notebookcheck about DPC latency is high on this laptop. Anyone experience this ?

Nice. Compared well, but the whole point of being a pro or not depends on the user. At the end of the day, it's the end results that would ultimately be competing (which will depend on the person using it), not the specs of this device. Sure, a better-performing machine will churn out something more quickly, but if the output/content is bad, then the performance isn't going to cover up for it. So someone with an "I want to be a pro" laptop can/might very well make the other with an "I am a pro" laptop bite dust.
M1 are overrated, I dont care about the energy efficiency, I'm always plugged in
What about Asus Zephyrus M16 vs MSI Creator Z16?
I think these are not comparable. At the price of MBP 16, I can get a Ryzen 9 5900HX + RTX 3080 16GB Scar model. Atleast compare it with WE76 with RTX A5000 or something.
32dB M1Max 56C vs 50dB Z16 81C ... Pretty much sums up Windows Laptops.
Yeah, Mac is crushing it for efficiency, performance, battery life, and thermals.
Battery Life is really a very big factor. Macbook is preferred.

MSI Creator Z17 с RTX 3080TI и i9 12900H будет просто в пух рвать любой мак даже с М3 в любом тяжелом 3D и рендере. Дискретная RTX это не просто лишняя железка..
мак красивый и приятный, но если нужно для дизайна интерьера например, какой может быть mac если даже с накопителем в 1TB этого катастрофически мало? Или будете покупать кастом мака с 4TB памяти который стоит как автомобиль))?

Ok now compare in Cinebench MSI Creator 17 with i9, 32 GB RAM and GTX 3080 16GB with MacBook Pro 16 M1 Max, I'm sure the MSI gonna win. The MSI Creator Z16 is not that strong

I mean I just bought a Z16 Creator with an i9 processer, RTX4070 and 64GB RAM for the same price as a base spec MacBook Pro..
This Z16 (A11UET-013) is too pricey for the hardware you get. The Creator 15 OLED with the RTX 3080 is around the same price and has a 4K OLED screen, 100% AdobeRGB on top of the 100% DCI-P3, and 100wh battery. The performance is about 60% more faster with CPU and GPU combined than this Z16.
I like the MSI creator but the MacBook's efficiency makes me go for the Mac since they don't have much of a price difference.
The MacBook is more reliable in certain situations I work in places where there is no power but at the end of the day it's about personal preference.

@YT-Watcher true but the pros of owning a mac out weigh the cons. The mac is more perfect if you are using it for work purposes most of the times and I think in terms of gaming the msi creator z16 has an upper hand.(don't get me wrong "the msi creater z16 is a perfect laptop in many aspects")

Of those three, the Z16 should have enough to handle your needs.
@@ShakyrBiohacking I use a mouse 99% of the time, but when I've used the trackpad I've had no issues. You can always accelerate the cursor speed to accommodate for the smaller dimensions, although I didn't need to.

MSI Z16 32gb and 2 tb SSD with an I9 almost $500 cheaper than the MBP. I can deal with the noise and lack of HDMI
That's cool and all, but the MBP has definitely more going for it than just the efficiency and hdmi:
- Better display
- Better Speakers
- Better build-quality
- Better Trackpad and keyboard
- Better camera
- Better CPU
- Faster storage
- Better battery
- Full power on battery
and probably much more.

@@onezweithree I can’t pin point accurate animations using a track pad so that don’t matter, use studio quality headsets so speakers don’t matter, export times are faster so storage speed not a concern…. Use to be an Apple fan boy, but I like the fact that I can add that extra 32gb of ram and change out a ssd if I need to
@@davereinhardt3862 Also, isn't the creator z16 screen 120hz? I agree with you on your points. When video editing, i don't think i've ever relied solely on my laptops speakers. I always use speakers or headsets. I really can care less about how the speakers sound.

@@BenGKaiser That's awesome! I'm pretty much convinced Iwant the Z16 as my new laptop with the 12th gen intel cores (i7 should be fine). I'm using it for music production and live audio shows, so it has to be stable.. Unfortunately almost none of the laptop compare channels take into account DAW benchmark tests. Is that something you would consider in the future? I always see games, photoshop, sometimes video software or even microsoft, but never audio software like Ableton or Pro Tools or any DAW. Would be very appreciated!
You forgot that macbooks use temporial dithering and PWM which cause eye strain and headaches in 60% of people so the MSI instantly wins.
I bought my first Mac ever recently. The most important strength of the Mac that reviewers do not stress enough is the fact that it is a truly portable machine!
Windows machines are like fish out of water as soon as you remove their life line, which is that power cord and massive brick that they rely on so much in order to push those high performance numbers. M1 Macs are the only true portable machines that will give excellent performance with or without a power cord, and last a full work day.
In my book, this is the most powerful and compelling feature of the new M1 Macs, and the reason why I made the choice to buy one after being such an avid advocate against MacBooks for years.

Apple makes some great products, I was all in for decades with apple. But when they start going black and to fix them costs almost as much as a new computer I started looking at pc.
