Growing my beard for the first time and I'm around 4 weeks in. My chin and moustache are thickening up nicely but my side burns grow much slower and look thin and patchy so might have to rock the scruffy goat👍
I like the full long goatee with mustache and a stubble beard on the sides of the face. I am going to try this and see how it looks. I usually rock a goatee and mustache but the sides shaved. Now going to let it grow.
I've found the Arabic beard style most suitable and comfortable at a medium fullness with a long stubbled mustache. this seems to keep the sparsely bearded, slow growing, cheek area more balanced. Besides, I tend to get eczema break outs on my upper lip when ever the mustache grows too long, so the Arabic style works great! It is what it is, and I can live with that.
Been slow, but steadily growing, or increasing the beardstache. I didn’t even know it was a thing till seeing another clip of yours. But had the full, even longer beard for about a decade, and now that I am getting more gray by the year, the beardstache gives me the option of paring down the gray “beard” and concentrating on the mustache, which still has color.
I like the beardstache, and I'm on my way, to letting my moustsche grow. I like it, becauseI like the look of a moustache, but it look too harsh/weird on me, if I am cleanly shaven around. Having a long stubble and a mid length moustache is my way to go
Beardstache forever! Aside from the fact that I like it, it suits me because my mustache is the thickest part of my beard. I have some patchiness in other areas so it looks better to keep those on the short side.
At the moment i am currently rocking the scruffygoat. I have had a 5" or so long beard for about three years now and decided to leave the goat longer and trim the rest down to stubble.
I'm all into the hybrid beard style. I think I'm rocking one now. I'm keeping the cheeks and the stach at 3 weeks stubble and letting the chin area grow thick and wide a little over 3 months now.
my stache is very week and sadly would love a big epic stache but my stache is way too thin, been having the arabic beard i have my stache trimmed down to stubble
My husband works in food service so he can't grow out a full beard (unless he wants to wear one of those face nets, which he doesn't). The most he's allowed is a close-trimmed goatee, but on occasions he gets lazy and gets a nice scruffy goat before he gets back to his razor and clippers. On occasion he wears a beardstache and my soul just hurts lol but he likes it so whatever as long he's happy.
I feel the Arabic beard is a common thing in "urban" environments. I have not found it to be uncommon to see men in my neighborhood (Bronx,) with a beard of any length (I'm surprised to see longer ones now,) with trimmed mustaches. I feel I have been in the minority for either light trims mustache wise, or long mustache (I should say I'm inspired by Eugenio Maria de Los Hostos the next time I hear a snarky remark.)

Mine is most definitely a scruffed whaler, pointed full goatee w/o mustache. My only issue I have to be careful trimming my sides or it looks border chin strapish.

I think you forgot the almost full beard that's shaved thin right in between the goatee and sideburns, I've not seen much of it but I've seen it on a few people (and I've never seen 1/2 of these at all)
Well, considering that several people have told me I look like a terrorist, I'd say I have, perhaps, unintentionally sported an arabic beard. My mustache just doesn't get big and poofy.. or maybe I've never properly cultivated it. The hairs are a bit scraggly and untameable to be honest, whereas everywhere else is dense and has a lot of volume.
I feel like in general, a beard-stache makes you look like you have a small chin and makes you look funny. People that already have a small chin, growing a beard is the way to go

On some days, I HAVE to use mustache wax go get the hairs to act right and go in a normal direction, lol. Do you ever deal with that?

Great video! It's given me some ideas to switch it up since I have been rocking a full beard for over a year and a half. Jeff has been inspiring me to try the beardstache for a little bit now since I have the full mustache to pull it off but I am afraid if I do it and don't like it, I will just end up shaving it all off! I really want to grow my mustache out longer but I just can't seem to pull it off. The hair in the middle of my lip below my nose is super straight and thick but when it gets like an inch long it curls under into my mouth and drives me insane. Then the outside of my mustache is mostly curly wiry hairs that shoot all different directions no matter what I do so it looks terrible past a certain length. Any suggestions?
Have you tried some mustache wax/styling product? To get that hefty cowboy style 'stache you'll typically have to use a little elbow grease to style it into that fashion! -Zach
for a successful hybrid beard, choose one that balances, not exaggerate your features into a caricature. For instance someone with a weak chin should not have a huge mustache with only chin stubble, IMO.

I always had stubble with whatever I had. I hate having a clean shaved face. so I pretty much had them all except the Arabic one. I see no point at all having a massive beard but little to no mustache. To me it just looks too weird. Lol Since I can grow a decent beard I had all of them and more because it's just fun and it can grow back.
Well, I haven't rocked the arabic beard, but i do keep my mustache from going full. It's simply more practical, no mustache hair to bother you, especially when you eat.

In the next year or so after my stache grows epic I am going for the “beardstache”! With like a three to five week stubble.

I've got a chin strap into goatee and neck beard. basically a full beard without cheek hair. this is how my beard grows in naturally.
