- The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is "worthy of the gods!" (Time Out New York). The Greek gods are real, and they’re ruining Percy Jackson’s life. As a son of Poseidon, Percy has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and he is on an epic quest to find Zeus’s lightning bolt and prevent a war between the gods. Normal is a myth when you’re a demigod. This "winning adaptation" (The Hollywood Reporter) of the best-selling Disney-Hyperion novel by Rick Riordan is "electrifying!" (Newsday). the original soundtrack is pretty close, so much of the original cast is still in it!

I went to high school with Jorrel (The guy playing Grover), I never closely knew him but there's a bit of hometown pride for him!! So excited to see him make a name for himself :))

That’s called a bootleg, they’re illegal but you can find them around UA-cam if you’re lucky.
@@kater2045 It's not always a bootleg, often shows are recorded and sold so that those who couldn't get tickets can still have the experience

Just saw it yesterday and I gotta say id watch Percy just joke around on stage for 3 hours and be entertained, they all play their characters super well
I saw The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical and it was amazing!
James Hayden Rodriguez ( Luke ) is so talented and did perfect with all his roles. Jorrel Javier is also an amazing singer. He did so good with his role has Grover. Chris McCarrell did amazing as his role of Percy Jackson. He was so on point with his character. And last but not least ( That I am going to write about in this comment) Kristin Stokes ( Annabeth) has a song called my grand plan and she nailed her performance at the show. I could not ask for a better cast than the cast I saw!
I love this musical. I don't know why but each time I listen to it, brings out memories of that time when I fell in love with the series.

Maybe one of my favorite things from when I saw the show was when Chris literally slides into center stage for his entrance in the day I got expelled
I remember actually screaming when he slid on stage! I was actually thinking about how he was going to enter after seeing the others, and when they tore off the curtain, I just couldn’t keep myself quiet!
I love George Salazar but I gave to say that the new Grover looks amazing

Hello person from a year ago, its 2020 and rick single handedly saved it by announcing a good on screen adaptation! AHH IM SO EXCITED-
Saw it Wednesday night in Chicago. I bawled my eyes out, it was so good! I got my things signed by the cast ,and spoke with them and they were all fantastic gems! Everything about the music, acting, set design, and costumes was so much fun to watch! I wrote a One Act version of this show for my high school and they all happily signed my script for me. This experience is one I won't be forgetting any time soon. For any old fans who are worried about seeing the show, I say go for it! It's worthy of the gods! Thank you cast and crew for doing my childhood justice!

I just saw this today in NYC an it was absolutely amazing, the actors were great an it really respected the book even with the boundaries it had of being on a stage. It was just a absolutely stunning musical and I could tell everyone worked very hard to make it as good as it was. 😌😊

Saw the show last thursday in Chicago. Creative use of lighting, minimal set, and kept a pace that rarely felt too slow. Great adaptation for the fans!

Megan Curry they said o their twitter that it’s super expensive and the only way a professional recording will happen if fans continue to talk about the show and go see the tour so it would gain enough popularity for them to get a recording :)

I'm from England and I never got to see the show but listening to the soundtrack brings me back to when I first read the series... that joy and wonder and instant love of Greek mythology - I really hope this show comes to the West End one day

I really wish more shows were released proshot, especially since there’s so many people who don’t get to see them. It’s like, everyone’s always getting mad about bootleggers but they wouldn’t do it if production companies released proshot versions like they did with Hamilton. It just seems like such a waste that so many shows do actually get recorded professionally but never make it to the people. It really makes me wish people in this world were more generous.
