    Dude... You mentioned how the speakers sound better with the motor off, I've thought that forever with mine too, I thought I was making that 💩 up! Thank you for confirming!!

    Factory radio needed to be flashed. The EQ was set to account for the garbage factory speakers. Those Infinity speakers have a lot of potential, even with the factory radio.

    Dude I'm the only person I know that knows Soul Asylum! Thanks for the vid, I just got back into riding and think I bought the wrong bike (Softail Slim). Rode a 17 Street Glide Special yesterday and loved it

      Michael Schaefer yeah Soul Asylum is oldie but goodie lol. Ever since project Rushmore the touring bikes have been the way to go imo. Nothing better than to get up in the morning having a touring bike and say, Where do you want to go today? In a perfect world that would be a great combination to have both bikes. I might add that the new Milwaukee eight motor is a beast!

    The question is...how do they hold up to the elements?

      They are good. I have been running Kappas in my last two bikes. They seen rain and water splash from bike washes. They didn't fail. Infinity stands behind their product too. If they stop working just hit them up and they will send you a new set with a ups code to send the broken ones back.

    Hmm, not motorcycle or outdoor rated speakers.. but you should also have put the speaker grills on before/ when you played again with new speakers as that will affect the sound.

    These are the speakers used : Infinity Kappa 62.11I 150W 6.5-Inch 2-Way Kappa Series Coaxial Speakers

      Hi Steve! Do you like these even on the hwy? Also, were you able to connect without issue or did you have to make new connectors? I have a 2018 Road Glide Ultra and the stock speakers past 50MPH are bad to me, just hurt my ears and hard to understand.

    • @steveg56
      @steveg56  4 роки тому

      @@scotty2221 I would say these are minor upgrades over stock IMO...really need more power to get the most of these.

    Does anyone know how he connected these speakers to the stock HU since these speakes dont have the quick diconnect spade terminals? Most people run an amp so I can't seem to find any discussion on this.

    stock radio isn't enough to push those speakers, install an amp, Kicker PXA200.2 - 2x100-Watt Full-Range Amplifier. Night and day difference in volume and sound quality.

    • @steveg56
      @steveg56  7 років тому

      Yes need an amp bad. How difficult is that amp to install?

    • @scottem2189
      @scottem2189 7 років тому +1

      its not bad at all.. takes about two hours, you'll need a basic amp install kit (Walmart for $20) with some connectors (walmart). Its speaker wires going into the amp from the deck then speaker wires going out of the amp to each speaker, a ground, a power and the blue wire that tells the amp to turn on. Power went to the battery + connection. The ground cannot be installed near the amp, not enough ground on that part of the bike. Had to run a ground wire to a factory ground location in front of the battery. The blue wire.. There are two big plugs that would be used with a Harley brand amp, simply turn on the ignition switch to accessory, test the wires to see which one has power. Shut the switch off, test again. Determine which wire is a switched power and splice the blue wire into it. Before turning the amp on for the first time, turn the radio volume down all the way, get into the deck to make adjustments.. turn the bass and treble all the way down. Read the directions on the amp. The kicker amp mentioned in my previous comment has multiple adjustments. turn the "gain" all the way down. Then turn on the amp using the ignition switch going to accessory. I plugged the trickle charger in so the battery doesn't get low. Now start making adjustments.. increase the volume first, if it doesn't sound good then make adjustments on the amp. I ended up using the 120 hertz option on the amp and the gain was turned up about 50%. I really want to hear the sound going down the road and the Infinity speakers can take it! Start adjusting your bass and treble to where you like it. Before the amp was installed compared to post install.. volume is up at least 75% or better. There is an adjustment on the deck (via the touch screen) that slows the amount of volume increase each time the volume button is turned up or down. If I were to do a second install with the same amp, it would only take about an hour.

      Please every one reading this.....DO NOT buy a wal mart amp install kit. It will have CCA wire instead of OFC copper. (To anyone that says it’s a short run and it doesn’t matter your an idiot) When you guys buy amp kit make sure it says 100% OFC wire. (Oxygen free copper). Every single tenth of a volt matters on a bike. Their charging systems are not like cars. A quality install kit is going to run no more than $40 shipped. Honestly 98-99% of the guys out there should really take the bike and have the install done by a shop that knows audio or someone that is an audio expert. Every single bike I have ever touched has has multiple issues with the previous install. It should run about $100 to get an amp installed on almost any bike..... it will be worth every penny, I can promise that!

    • @steveg56
      @steveg56  7 років тому +4

      Scott Wheeler I was hoping for a bigger difference from the stockers. There certainly not worse, but I did expect a bit more. I feel as though they would really do well with an amp. Mids and bass are much better...just need more power IMO

    • @steveg56
      @steveg56  7 років тому

      shaun brown you have to cut off the factory connectors then the bare speaker wire pigtails in for a nice secure fit. I would recommend running an Amp for better sound as the head unit simply doesn't have quite enough power imo. Hope this helps.
      I'm currently searching for a new amp myself as we speak.
