Thank you for making a Halloween themed episode about the decay of suburban eyesores through Tim Burton analogies, Community, Parks and Recreation, and What They Do In The Shadows 🙃
There's a dying mall near me, and it has become a conglomeration of office spaces, small businesses, and event spaces. The Ulta Beauty was turned into an event space where they host pop-up art galleries and a local annual film festival. The Macy's is now an event space where they host concerts in the summer and warming shelters for unhoused citizens in the winter.
Ah, the decaying malls of my Toronto youth. Cloverdale is the one that comes to mind, they had a circus in the parking lot once, and my mom made me ride the elephant they had, which even as a child felt Wrong. I wonder if they could turn those big empty lots into developments like the condos that replaced Stonegate Community Centre in south Etobicoke (I grew up there, and the place was mostly a parking lot with an L shaped strip of small shops and a Valuemart along it's edges), I would appreciate building up density with condos in the suburbs or on top of single purpose builds like that LCBO on King and Spadina. Did not expect this walk down municipal memory lane in a video ostensibly about Spirit Halloween stores, good stuff!
Quick hello to you Andrew .I heard you may not be playing between the pipes this year .We will miss you out there .I always looked forward to our chats on everything video... hope all is well ..cheers to you good sir 🍻

That fact that 30 minutes drive away is considered close in America kinda blows my mind as an English person. That's so far.
30 minutes starts to feel like walking to your kitchen here 🙃
God, life must be so convenient in Europe.. I drive 37min each way to my job where I make $10.25/hr.
