I prefer the Ambush. That is my current MTB helmet and I love the fit.

Is there anyway for the chinstrap to sit in the middle of your chin? It seams it is off to one side, on the Ambush design. Is it a bother being crooked? thanks.

No bother and thats actually how the straping system is designed. It will pretty much always be just a touch offset.

I don't have one, but would want to remove it, and read in the manual it should not be removed. Trying to find out if it can be removed without damaging the helmet. thanks

Yes it is just stuck on with tape on the back strap. Now why would you want to remove it? You don't have to set it up unless you want the functionality.

Those Mips points look painful does the plastic points press against your head?

They are rubber and no thicker than standard velcro. You dont even notice they are there.
