    In this video I'll be harvesting some tomatoes. The series of harvests were filmed over a one week period. Typically, I prefer to harvest tomatoes after they fully ripen on the vine to maximize size and flavor, but sometimes you do need to pull them early if there are signs of pest damage and you are worried you may lose your whole harvest.
    We'll conclude the video with a taste test!
    I hope you enjoyed this video!

    I was the same way, I hated tomatoes as a kid. Then I had some out of my friends garden that his parents grew and I was hooked. I could almost taste that brandywine through the screen. Amazing.

    I just picked my first cherry tomato today. The rest of my varieties still will need a few weeks.

    One year I didn’t stake my tomatoes at all. I just let them grow wildly! No pruning. No removing suckers. It was the most productive year I ever had.

    That is a pretty nice, big, tomato. Beautiful! I would take them, too. I would pull them off too. Enjoy your tomatoes and take care.

    Subscribed in 5 seconds, Great video presence. Material revealed instantly. Instant fan here. Here in Oregon we are waiting for our tomatoes to recover from historic heat (116), have some early lowers but most indeterminate varieties have several bract levels just fried to hell. Hoping for best, your look great!

    Wow you're not definitely Italian. We grow them upside down in hanging baskets with bird nesting. Towards the end of the season, take them out the dirt and hang in a cold dry place. Then the nitrates drained from the roots and make the green tomatoes ripen or you can use the green tomatoes for fried green tomatoes.

    They look like a nice tasting harvest. Mine should be turning in about 2 weeks.

    I grow a lot of tomatoes in my polytunnel, cherry and salad, cherry tomatoes are so good, taste like a berry tbh, others are great for sauces or salads. But what's the real name of the big 1s you have, you called them mortgage something, are they beef tomatoes?

    Tomato’s are considered a fruit because they contain seeds inside and they have flowers

    • @williamfindspeople4341
      @williamfindspeople4341 3 роки тому +1

      How about eggplant or Squash. Seeds are inside and they flower, in fact you can eat the flowers, but you can't eat tomato flowers.

      @@williamfindspeople4341 Any vegetable that has seeds and flowers is considered a fruit. The flower being inedible doesn’t make it a vegetable

    Why do tomatoes get split like that???? Has to do with watering??? Hum!!!!!!

    • @RobBackyardGardenerr
      @RobBackyardGardenerr  3 роки тому

      Yeah - inconsistent watering causes the inside to grow faster than the outside.
