Love this idea of mind mapping through making word and image associations and how these work together to weave a more expansive message. Once you've made the connections I can see how stream of consciousness or what is also known as free flow writing could be added as the next step to the process, allowing the unconscious intuitive side to begin to braid it all together. Then turning to the guidebook, looking for other key words relating to the images would be like adding another strand... spiralling deeper into the message. My sense is that throughout the process of mind mapping, one is descending... connecting the mind to the heart, traversing further into the depths of womb wisdom. Thanks for sharing.
This tickled my brain in the most delightful way. I've done tarot brainstorms before but not really mind-mapping like this. I am going to have to give this a try, thank you for sharing your process. x
I love this idea of mind mapping as you are pulling the cards and seeing the connections (in real time). I think this helps so much when you are ready to dive deeper into the reading and journal about it, read the guide books etc. I dont always have time to do it all in one sitting so this was so helpful.
Super fun way of playing with the cards. I can’t wait to try it with a question. It also allows me to sit with the cards instead of just doing a quick key word type reading
Yes to sitting with the reading! I love this because it still gives me some structure to work through it with when my brain needs a direction. I’d love to hear how you get on if you try it :)
Such an amazing video. I took so many notes. I did the mind mapping last time when you showed it and loved it. So happy you made a dedicated video for it 😍😍
Really interesting, food for thought. I'm working on buildings my version of a zettelkasten system where all my notes end up in one way or another. I like liking things together also see what a fact might in the future be connected to.
I also love how the Hold card shows a root system and the rosemary is what is above the roots, so I see the 'as above so below' relationship between those cards also. Nice system. I love mind mapping as a organizational strategy any way, so this is a lovely way to apply that method to tarot. Thank you for sharing it with us. ❤
This is a grounded theory research concept called situational analysis, I used this method to organize my dissertation literature review.. There is a great book called Situational Analysis by Adele Clarke. I love this and had not thought of applying this to my tarot readings. Also I love your nail polish color, can you reveal?
Ooh after a cursory google, I think this is sort of how I pulled my own dissertation together! So maybe it's no surprise I would turn around and apply it to tarot. Also the nail polish is a Barry M one, I forget the name though. Thanks for watching!
This is fantastic. I’ve really been curious how you use the mind map with tarot. I love this idea and makes a lot of sense to my brain, esp since I do love to pull from multiple decks. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
I’m glad you’re enjoyed! It’s so good for working with multiple decks, it feels easier to pull in the different styles and ideas in a mind-map than with long-form journaling
Thank you so much for this, I started learning out with mind mapping . Then got lost in all the how you should be doing Tarot 🙄 . Brilliant definitely going back to this technique ❤
Fellow overthinker here, you're not alone! (even my readings tell me again and again and again that I should get out of my study more often but 🤷🏼♀ I'll wait here for the Practice Police)
I’ve got a thing with animals. It might be because I have native ancestors but I looked into the bear and the tiger and they actually have a similar meaning:strength. I love this exercise 🙂🙂
I loved watching this. Seeing a new way to work out a reafing is awesome to learn. Thank you for sharing this process with us. I want to give it a try. ❤
I love this video, thanks for making it! On a completely different note, my special interest is nail varnish and the jumper/nail polish combo is *chefs kiss*
This video is synchronistic for me as today (one day after you posted this), I searched for an online visual thesaurus for exploring words. Lisa Papez inspired this process as I wait to receive her new book, Unlocking the Tarot: Create Your Own Keys. I plan to use a mind-mapping process to record my keywords words to explore their interconnectedness. I had not thought of using mind-mapping with a variety of cards, from different decks, to integrate and explore a theme which evolves by finding the connections between keywords as you have done here. Thanks for sharing this process. I’m very keen to try it.
Love this! It so matches my inner process as i sit and kind of meditate in front of a random set of cards I've drawn. For me, it's a process of connecting, clumping, splitting, and going through silent phases until a whole new layer of connections arises... Left and Right brain having a go weaving thoughts, emotions, responses , meanings, until those magical transformative insights emerge, creating a greater whole. I haven't thought of using mind mapping to keep a record, or at least a trail of breadcrumbs for future reference. Thanks ❤
This was fantastic, Sylvie! Thanks for explaining your process. As I'm still new to tarot, this was so helpful. Dede Willingham is a self-taught artist (drawing/mixed media) who first introduced me to mind mapping. She has a playlist on her channel, "Society of Idea Collectors." You might enjoy her.
I don’t think at any point was there a mention that it was new, it was just meant to be helpful. Maybe try to assess the situation before how comments are made.

Would love to hear how you get on with it, I’m so nosy about how people think about the tarot!
@@TarotMagpie Will for sure update you when I give it a go!

Thank you, looking forward to your VR!
This was great, it really worked for my brain in how I like to interact with the cards. I will definitely be using this in future reads

Love this. 💜
I'd like to see how you do what where when why how with 1 card.
That one’s just gone live!

Ooh that makes a lot of sense actually!
I will definitely try this because i find the linear journaling very difficult, i often can't put full sentences together.
I totally relate to that! Sometimes my thoughts simply refuse to organise themselves in a straight line.
I really enjoyed this! A refreshing approach, a different way to interact with the cards. Love it.

Seriously? This is nothing new! There are books on this subject by PITISCI
Thanks for the book recommendation!
