The ink/acrylic wet blending tip is such a good one, been trying to find a way to get a nice translucent blend for horns and spikes for a while. Thannks!

I love how most experienced painters either dislike, or do not follow the games workshop paint scheme for tyranids. And they still manage to do such an amazing job! Also Where did you get your brush from at you used to paint the finer details? I’m trying to get into the hobby, and I find that drybushing doesn’t work on many of the cheap miniatures I have.
I use a Rosemary and Co series 33 - should be a link in the description. I use a variety of sizes - from 00 to 1 - the most important thing is a good tip
I haven’t painted in 30 years and own nothing for the hobby yet. However getting back into WH40K I fell in love with this scheme. Now i counted 20 colours I would need to try this out… however I was thinking if anyone would think you could come close by getting a good starter set with base colours in dark, mid and light tones for each + plasma bolt and speedpaint medium?? If not I will probably go out and get the paints used, apart from that instead of Citadel colours I will get the Duncan Two Thin equivalents and call it the start of my paint collection. Apart from talking me out of this silly idea, any suggestions?
@@ThePaintingCoach wauw, thank you so much for replying to this old video, colour me impressed. I have seen the video, and don’t worry, all the small bugs are getting that treatment, I am nlt a masochist. But I wanna challenge myself and learn on the big boys, and if I have to learn how to strip paint as well, so be it 😂 Would you think finding tone matching equivalents and follow the guide could work? Or at least get some citadel equivalents following charts like two thins chart?
Equivalents will work fine - I have all the two thin coats paints though and whilst they are great paints, the tine match isn't great on them - you'd have better luck with the new game colour range I think!
hello, please tell me if you will have a video on how to quickly paint the primaris of space wolves, your guides about quick painting are simply amazing. I apologize in advance for the mistakes , I am writing through a translator
Hi, i really want to go for a leviathan scheme with this tutorial :) do you have any tips on converting the colours from kraken to leviathan? Sorry for bothering and ty for answering:)
Hi - I just saw your post on the Leviathan video too! I would use that, and for replacing oils you can use magos purple contrast paint thinned with contrast medium, and also maybe volupous pink for the darker areas
@@ThePaintingCoach ty very much, idk why that other post deleted itself :( but ty very much for answering i'll give it a go with the carapace from the SC video :)
@@ThePaintingCoach ahah, the important think is that I made the new one and now I have the inspiration:) also i'll do vizzik soon and i'll follow the new tutorial on the channel

That's a beautiful paint job, and in the same week I've finally figured out Kraken is how I want to paint my Tyranids after 3 years of horrible grey and now a fully built Leviathan, don't think this could have come at a better time 😀

Damn, this is awesome, seeing your brush control is seriously impressive! Such a satisfying process to watch!
Thanks!
This is one beautiful beastie. Love those tendrils and that wet blend on the horns.
Cheers man!

Nice one you just give me some help to improve my characters on my Tyranids. 😊
Awesome 👍🏻
Would love to see you do the deathleaper in the kraken paint scheme. Fantastic job!
Cheers - I'd paint it with the exact same methods on this 👍🏻
How about painting it as a Xenomorph?
At 11:08 you mention "Wood Brown" but none of the paint brands you use has a "Wood Brown" what color is this? Thank you.
Hmm - it is one of the Army Painter Speed Paints. I know what I have done - wrong name 🤦🏼♂️ it should be dark wood
@@ThePaintingCoach You rock! Thank you.

will probably just go with citadel.. I have enough uncertainties as it is😀
No problem - drop back in if you have any questions!
do you mix paints in a little pallette thing?
Yes a plastic well palette for.l contrast style paints and a wet palette for normal paints
Question sir, why did you use contrast black instead of something like nuln oil is there a benefit of using contrast instead ?
The shade was darker - the new nuln oil would have needed two coats to do the same work 👍🏻

No quick guide but I do have two full Space Wolf tutotials - the techniques would be the same
