How wonderful you made it as a gift!!! ❤️❤️ This yarn is from the brand called Mondial and is their "basic cotton". They don't sell it online but around here we find it in local shops! I hope that helps!
Hello Charlotte! Yes I can (sorry the camera wasn't shooting...! didn't see!). Insert the needle in a stitch from the head, pull the center of this yarn string inside the stitch. You will have now a loop on the needle, pull the ends of this yarn string inside the loop. Pull tightly the yarn ends to secure the strands. Once you add a couple of them, use a embroider needle to open the yarn fuzzy, and cut it on the finished size you want! I hope is clear! It is the easiest way of adding yarn. If you cant understand, I will find a tutorial on UA-cam that uses the same technique. Let me know!
Hello little crochet farm is there anyway to substitute the yarn and hooks size I am using a worsted weight yarn and I’m not sure which hook to use for the little grinch wasn’t sure if the pattern would still turn out thank you😃🧶
Yes you can! You can use a worsted weight yarn with no problem! And change the hook size. I would recommend a 4mm crochet hook for this type of yarn just because the stitches will be tighter, but if you have a strong tension, you can even use a 5mm. Also, the size of your Grinch will be way bigger. I guess it would be kind of double size! But I cant tell you for sure! Let me know how it turns out!
No! I didn't know my camera wasn't shooting when I did his hair. But is super simple. Grab little pieces of yarn and attach on top. Maybe 5 strings is fine! Then, take the sewing needle and open the strings of the yarn. That's it! I hope I helped a little bit...!
@@LittleCrochetFarm thank you! I cannot wait to make this for my family for Christmas. Thank you for this video. I’m excited to watch more of your videos too
I'm having no luck searching for what the weight is on the Mondial Cotton Basic yarn. It doesn't seem to be available to me in the USA. I want my Grinch to be the same size as you are making. Is this actually a crochet thread or possibly a super fine #1 yarn? Any help would be so appreciated. :D
Hey Susan, yep, they sell in local shops. I could never find them online, only here nearby my house. The yarn is a fine yarn, in the US they would call it weight 2 (sport, baby yarn). I hope this helps!
He is absolutely adorable. I watched your videos and am making one now. You mention a link to the BPSC stitch, but I only see a link to back slip stitch. Where is your video for doing the back post stitch? Thanks.

I noticed that for rounds 4 & 5 you crochet in the back loop of the stitch ? please correct me if I am wrong. In my first leg I single crochet in both loops. In my second leg I single crochet in the back loop as you did. And of course they look different. Please clarify.
Hey Anne! Rounds 4 and 5 of the legs you single crochet normally. Grabbing both loops of the stitch. When I crochet grabbing only the back or only the front, be sure I'll mention in the video and in the written pattern! I hope that helps! ❤️
Help!! Round 26 got me stumped,I could not get 30 stiches for that round, I had the 42 stitches from round 25 , but it just didn;t come out to 30 ,so what I did was do 5sc,dec,around and then did a round of 4sc dec and continue on from there to get the 30 stitches and I left off round 29 and continued on.. What was I doing wrong? Thanks for your tutorials already made the gingerbread man and off to do the rest of the Xmas collection
Hey Claire! I got a bit confused with what you did for round 26, it looks like you did (5sc, 1dec) and repeated that around which is not the pattern. I will explain what you need to do: This is the pattern for round 26: 5sc, (1sc 1dec) repeat 12 times, 1sc Total 30sts meaning, you will start with crocheting 5sc, and after that, you will start repetition of (1sc, 1dec) 12 times, which means you will repeat 1sc, 1dec, 1sc, 1dec, 1sc, 1dec.....until you are done 12 times, and after all those repetitions, there will be left 1sc, and you do 1sc. This way, on round 26, you are decreasing 12 stitches (42 - 12 = 30 sts). For rounds 27 and on, you will have 30! I hope that is clear to you!
@@LittleCrochetFarm Yes Ana you cleared it up for me, I just misunderstood the directions, thank you so much!! I have a few requests to make more, I enjoy your tutorials very much, your explanations are great! I am new to amigurumi and enjoy making them. Just finished Santa Claus today and going to start Mrs. Claus tomorrow Thanks again!
Hi Anna. When I did the bpsc for round 3, I was getting 11 stitches instead of 12. So I just did a single crochet to end the round. Then I thought on round 2 I missed a stitch but I didn’t. I couldn’t figure out how u did it, so like I said I just did a sc in the last stitch. Could u explain how u did it. ?
Hello, your Grinch is absolutely adorable. I live in the US and am unable to find the yarn you suggest for this pattern. Can you please recommend another yarn type? Thank you!
Hey, I recommend Catania, is the same thickness and I work with it as well. Here is an example bit.ly/3qlOt4r and I think you can find in the US. Also, you can search for a 100% cotton yarn, sports weight. That will also do!
I can’t wait to try it thank u for this tutorial you explain it so well i hope i will be able to do it correctly i get lost in my mind sometimes 😅 also i have a question do you know how much length of yarn you use please :) if you dont know don’t worry it don’t matter that much :)
You can do this! And he will be great! It doesn't require much. I don't know the exact amount, I always says a skein of 50 grams. But 50 grams you can probably make two and half of this Grinch! 😅I'm sorry for not being specific...
Oh yes, I know which ones you are talking about. I don't have a tutorial for them in the channel, since they are bigger and with many details. I try to keep the tutorials here more simple, for various reasons! Those are available for purchase on the Etsy shop and come with detailed photo tutorial instead of videos here on the channel. The mother doll is this one www.etsy.com/listing/955274722/gigi-the-mother-doll-crochet-pattern And cuddle size dachshund www.etsy.com/listing/1038691129/dachshund-amigurumi-crochet-pattern

I love these. I would like to make the elf and reindeer one for my 3 yr old grandson. Do you have those patterns you can share with me? Or direct me to the link? Thank you for sharing them.
Can someone help me, do you slip stitch the rounds when doing the arms. She says to do 8sc for 11 rounds. Did yall slip stitch each round or did yall keep going around with out slip stitching???😅
Yes and yes!!! I really believe you can crochet him! If the video is too fast in some stitches or techniques, check the description of the video. There are individual tutorials dedicated to the stitches used to complete the Grinch! I really hope you have fun making him!
Ana, I am brand new to amigurumi and I very much want to try your cute ornaments. However I am having trouble determining what actual yarn to purchase. I search for fingering yarn and cannot find any or only one to two colors. So, can you help with more specific yarn selections and also how much is required to complete an ornament? Or maybe what colors and amounts would complete any given collection? I am interested in the Christmas ornaments (both years) and the Alice in Wonderland set. I want to do small size so I know the yarn needs to be small. Unfortunately if I can't get the required yarn and colors it won't work! Also I don't want to spend a small fortune.
Hello Julie! We don't want you to spend a small fortune! 😅 Let's go little by little. The brand I use calls Mondial basic cotton, and I buy them at the local shop nearby my house. I don't know where you are located but, you can use any cotton brand yarn. The weight can be suitable for until 3,5mm crochet hook, even though you will work with a 2mm. For crochet toys, I always suggest getting a bit thicker yarn for a smaller needle. So you won't have see-through holes. The weight I usually work for my toys is lightweight yarn, or #2 or can be even #3. The amount is very little since the toys are all small. I usually buy skeins of 50g of each color, and you can work a lot of toys with that! I hope this answer can help you! ❤️
Aura estaba pensando ...
No! I use the same yarn thickness, a normal cotton yarn. It is actually (in my opinion) good to have a thicker yarn than the needle size. The stitches are tighter having more definition to the stitches and not leaving see through gaps!
Hey thank you for this tutorial! :) I have a question about row 3 for the legs. I don't understand how it is possible to start of with 12 sc, then decrease them by doing BPSC and end up with 12 sc. I have also watched your explanation video to BPSC, but I'm still doing something wrong :/ Do you think you could help me somehow? Or at least explain to me, how you end up with 12 sc after doing row 3? :)
Hey Lisa! Lets go through the first rows of the pattern because something you got it wrong. There are no decreases! The pattern says: 1 row: 6sc in a magic ring 2 row: 6increases (total 12sts) so, at the end of the second row, you have 12 single crochet right? Then, you will change the stitch you are working with. Instead of continue working the row 3 with single crochet (and make 12 of them), you will work with back post single crochet - BPSC - and make 12 of them! For the 3 row, you will crochet 12 BPSC. Once the row 3 is done, and you work 12 back post single crochet (bpsc), you will go back on working with single crochet! This way, rows 4 and 5 you will work 12sc on each of them! For the row 3, you only change the stitch type you are working. There are no decreases! Let me know if is clear for you!
I want to say that I like using the BPSC because it gives a nice shape and helps the amigurumi to stand alone. If is too complicated for you, you can substitute this stitch for the BLSC (back loop single crochet)!
I'm confused on this as well...because when you BPSC you are going through the back of one stitch and up throught the next stitch... so when you do the SC part it makes one stitch...so by working in both you cant do "12" you can physically only do 6 stitches because you are working in two at once

Love your work Ana, I’ve made the Grinch & gingerbread man for my grandsons, do you have a snowman?
I just made a Snowman tutorial!!!

You are so welcome!
السطر الثاني يكون 9 غرز وليس 8 والمكت ب 8 كيف احل هذه المشكله ؟
Happy Birthday🌹
Thank you Silvana!
Can I use wool for this instead of cotton with the needle size designed for wool?
Sure! It will be fluffier! ❤❤
I will explain what you need to do:
This is the pattern for round 26: 5sc, (1sc 1dec) repeat 12 times, 1sc Total 30sts
meaning, you will start with crocheting 5sc, and after that, you will start repetition of (1sc, 1dec) 12 times, which means you will repeat 1sc, 1dec, 1sc, 1dec, 1sc, 1dec.....until you are done 12 times, and after all those repetitions, there will be left 1sc, and you do 1sc.
Gracias por explicar 😊❤bendiciones, desde el estado de hidalgo, México
Potresti fare un video su come fare un cavallo a dondolo per l’albero di Natale? Grazie ☺️
Hey!!! Not for this year! But is on the list for next year's collection! ❤️
hello, you have to work into the stitch you have inserted the loop into. (make 1 sc)
Welche Farb Nr. Von grün hast du verwendet
So cute. Thank you for sharing.
Hey! I am happy you like him! Thank you for being here!
Hola... ¿Sabes? La vuelta 26 no me da el resultado de 30 puntos, algo hice mal?
De que tamaño queda el trabajo ya terminado?
Muchas gracias muy lindo trabajo
I can’t wait to try it thank u for this tutorial you explain it so well i hope i will be able to do it correctly i get lost in my mind sometimes 😅 also i have a question do you know how much length of yarn you use please :) if you dont know don’t worry it don’t matter that much :)
You can do this! And he will be great! It doesn't require much. I don't know the exact amount, I always says a skein of 50 grams. But 50 grams you can probably make two and half of this Grinch! 😅I'm sorry for not being specific...
@@LittleCrochetFarm thank u :) and its is pretty okay i understand you don’t know the exact amounts thank you very much 😄
Love this pattern! Thank you for sharing it. Do you think you’d ever be willing to create a “Max” pattern?
Thank you Chelsea! Well, maybe one day! It can be interesting! 🥰
Thank you so much, it's so cute and your tutorial is so good ! Have a merry christmas !
Thank you! Happy Christmas to you too!
I saw two toys that I can't find in your patterns. It's the dachshund toy and the doll that has baby. Can I please get the link for those two.

@@knittinginjoy8537 Let me know how it goes!!!
Let's go little by little.

tis is sooo cute! just wondering what yarn u used - tk u - just posted this on Pinterest as well.
Thank you!! For him, I used 100% cotton yarn, 3-ply or lightweight. Mondial basic cotton is the brand.

Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
La traducción de este trabajo no se encuentra en Google, que lastima , como me gustaría hacerlo, donde puedo encontrar la guía gracias
Aura estaba pensando ... ¡para ayudarte con los nietos!
El patron usa de ingles para espanol:
(sc) single crochet - punto bajo (pb)
(bpsc) back post single crochet - RDTpb punto bajo hecho en relieve por detrás
aum - inc
dism - dec.
Creo que esto puede ayudarte a hacerlo!
Can you please tell me what yarn you used in this video?
Hey Rebecca! I used the brand called Mondial, is the basic cotton
So cute! Is the yarn you’re using thinner since you’re using a smaller hook or is it just normal cotton yarn?
No! I use the same yarn thickness, a normal cotton yarn. It is actually (in my opinion) good to have a thicker yarn than the needle size. The stitches are tighter having more definition to the stitches and not leaving see through gaps!
Hey thank you for this tutorial! :)
I have a question about row 3 for the legs.
The pattern says:
1 row: 6sc in a magic ring
2 row: 6increases (total 12sts)
so, at the end of the second row, you have 12 single crochet right?
