- Welcome to my first video tour with voiceover narration!
This video is about the most famous, prominent and beautiful monuments of ancient Rome - Ara Pacis, or altar of Peace. During 10 minutes we will explore how the monument looked like initially, in a full-color. We'll take a look at each relief and I'll explain what it means. Also, I show the initial surrounding context of the Altar, when the territory of Campus Martius was 'clear', and the late ancient time as well, when it has become the part of the urban area.
And our main goal is to create the most extensive, detailed and accurate virtual 3D reconstruction of Ancient Rome, and eventually release it to everyone using the game engine! Join and follow us!

The more I learn about ancient Rome, the more I wish I could have visited it and walked within it during its prime. I rather like the narrated video format!
Same feelings. Thanks!
As said before, it's a lot better with the narration. Not that the other videos were not already great without, but it really adds something and allows to concentrate visually on the masterpiece without being distracted by texts. Well done!
Thank you! Soon I'll add subtitles to this video as well, insteas of auto-generated ones.
Classical Art and Architecture is the best. All modern imitations (Renaissance and Neo-Classical) don’t come close. The original classics got the balance right, perfect proportions, perfect materials, and they didn’t go too far with titivation.
Eh. There's some things i don't like about the neo styles like the lack of color or adding to much (e.g. the side wings of the supreme court building take away from the well-executed facade) but there's also things architects did post-1700s that were never possible in the ancient period with classical architecture that took it to new heights. Like steel or gothic buildings but with a classical layout.
What could be more elegant than this? Beautiful reconstruction!
Thank you! Will be more!
Narration very well done. Great to help in the understanding of Ancient Rome.
Great to hear, thank you!
Longtime fan of the channel. The narration truly makes it feel like going back in time and taking a guided tour. Please do more of this!
That's well put, agree!
Thank you very much!
What an excellent work, congratulations!
EDIT: I forgot to comment about the narration, I think it's a nice addition. You should definitely continue like this, in my opinion.
I can't understand how your channel has no more subscribers, something is really wrong in the youtube community.
Thank you for your kind words!
I visited the Ara Pacis while in Rome in 1978. Beautiful !!
I did in May 2023 (3 weeks ago). I agree, it is beautiful. Tip for future visitors: if you don't have advance tickets, you can purchase at the door but bring Euros. No cards. it was only about 12 E; well worth it. The mausoleum of Augustus is next door but was inaccessible when I was there. It seems there is restoration going on.
Wonderful and many thanks! I've been there with my mom!!
Beautifully presented and lovely to watch. Thank you for your UA-cam channel on Rome, my favourite city
Congratulations for new format!👏🙌👏
Thanks! To be continued!
Very enjoyable experience. Thank you for the journey into another time.
I like the narrated tour! I would be happy to see mor of it.
Thanks! Will be soon!
Another immersive and gorgeous video...superb visit!👍👍
Thanks! ✌
Good job Danila thanks for also explaining the reliefs and sculptures. I visited AraPacis a year ago but i was very curious to know more about the reliefs there. The narration was great too!
Thank you, glad to hear!
I was so moved the first time I viewed the #D video of the park around the mausoleum and altar, etc. I imagined it being a lovely respite from the smells and congestion of the city and how I would have loved strolling through there in those years before the district got ingilled and built up from "sprawl". I also just visited a site that covered quite comprehensively the massive amount of study and basic restoration of the mausoleum (finally, thankfully!) going on right now. It has endured both neglect and mixed use of questionable judgement over the centuries and it's so wonderful that the effort is finally happening to bring it back. As I clicked through all the pix I had the shimmering images from your 3D tours dancing in my mind and they were such a gift!
Thanks! I hope I'll visit the restored mausoleum soon as well!
wonder presentation. Great Job! Keep up the good work!
Bravo, guys! Great voiceover, Danila, terrific job!
Thank you!!
Fantastic !!!

Your work is outstanding. Thank you very much for keeping our heritage alive.
This is a really beautiful work. I enjoyed the color restorations, the realism and the accompanying narration. Thank you for a job well done.

Thanks to you!
I remember way back in 1972, when I was in middle School, called BUCHANAN JUNIOR HIGH, in Wintersville, Ohio, U.S.A., that I was taking LATIN I! LATIN was the only Subject that I then put in the Exact Center of my Curriculum and Mental World of Intellection. The previous Summer Months Of June and July I had much fun working on this Art Project, in anticipation of beginning my study of LATIN ONE: from the downtown Steubenville library I xeroxed some "illustrated" plates of the Procession of ARA PACIS, The Altar of Piece, and then copied the preferred scenes on art paper, backed by cut-out cardboard from old album records. I even used some tempera paints for the main V.I.P. figures on the sculptural frieze, then converted the entire SCENE onto bigger old cut out vinyl record covers: then I added Scotch Tape over It, and bordered everything in green colored paper for the edging. it was my very own Homemade PLACQUE of The ALTAR of PEACE, which I hung up high on my bedroom wall. Then during the FALL Quarter, I entered It in the Junior High Art Exhibit and g=gOT an HONORABLE MENTION Ribbon attached to It! i also did this accompanying Placque of the Young OCTAVIAN, based on another Xerox Image. It also received an Honorable Mention Ribbon! too bad I didn't have a camera to snapshot Both into a lasting photo album. This was years before the Internet even existed, where videos and pics are so readily available by the touch of a button. Did other school Youngsters do similar things elsewhere in Latin Studies?
Wow, i would definitelly enjoy more videos of similar content! Thank you
Will be, thank you!
Very good video! 🏛️🕊️🏛️
Thank you!
Nice having a guided tour. Good idea.
Yes I hope, thank you!
Beautifully done Sir. One suggestion. When you show how an area looked under a different emperor it would help to display as y the date somewhere on the screen. Also, a compass overlay from the perspective of the camera which is synced to this view and orbits with the perspective would help orient the viewer. Otherwise your work is amazing. Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback!
Great work !! :-))
Thanks!))
Канал просто замечательный, большое спасибо за труд. Но я бы был очень благодарен за русские субтитры.
Thank you, but now I release content exclusively in English (I plan to add Italian in the future). I stopped all activity in Russian from February 24th.
thank you!
Wow!

Très bonne reconstitution de l'ara pacis, en latin. Je n'ai pas tout compris à la narration en anglais. Dommage pour moi. J'aimais bien les musiques en fond sonore des vidéos. Malgré cela, j'aime beaucoup "History in 3D"...
So after the period of late antiquity with the ground level so high, do we know exactly how it became buried and forgotten? Or do archeologists conjecture that since it was so low it lost significance and was buried to not impede the road way?
🙃🥰😍🤩😘
