Former Dolphins hc Brian Flores said his refusal to throw games as a way to get a better draft pick ultimately cost him his job. Mayo wasn’t the first, won’t be the last.
Stop already with the 'set up to fail'....no one, including the Krafts, expected this to be a W-L evaluation. Mayo has known for years that he was NEXT and did nothing to prepare for it. He looked like he was new to football, lost on the sidelines. His decision making, choosing the DC, was HIS. His interviewing other professionals bears a high degree of scrutiny - it was reported that the OC's he interviewed (and 8 ran away fast) said 'Mayo didn't talk about football' in the interviews - sooooo what might he have talked about? Mayo, it appears, just rubbed it in to others in the building that he was next and thus 'we're ok over here'. But assigning Mayo to other roles as Travis says isn't the answer either - for over 15 years, Mayo played and coached 1 position. He hasn't learned anything else. No serious org wants a 1-trick pony in an executive function. Forced Mayo as HC? Remember, Mayo signed that deal too - Def kudos to Trav though for the Napoleon Dynamite/Uncle Rico "throw a football over them mountains' RE Milton - I was floored by the sheer athletic performance he put on and that cannon for an arm (Maye has an elite arm, but Milton...) as if Optimus Prime launched it! RE Johnson for HC: Never been a HC, and this is more than just a rebuild - tall order for rookie HC. Love seeing the Det squad do well and their offense in action.
Fair shot L😆L he got a shot give it a rest if he was so smart why did he take the job especially when he was in the building this is a 38 year old guy who’s arrogance lead him. His corporate gig was given to him much the same way by name recognition stop with this bullshit narrative. Think you guys need to do your research on Mayo. I don’t care where he lands he can go cry in his bank account. He’s got a corporate background let him go back to that company opps they don’t want him back turns out they were glad to rid themselves of the DEI.
Mayo sounded like Belichick. He assumed that the media were his friend. Hard lesson.

Mayo wasn’t the first, won’t be the last.
At least Vrabel will put together a better coaching staff.
Mayo did the work to get the job and didn’t do the work to do the job.
Patriots fans have had it rough for too long
I think Kraft’s finally made up his mind after the embarrassing home loss against the Chargers.

Patriots set Mac Jones up for failure, Jeord Mayo up for failure, the organization needs an enema.
You got the first part right mayo set himself up for failure
Ben Johnson doesn't interview well, disagree
Johnson better be a stellar interview for them to hire a first year head coach after this debacle.
No way is Kraft going with another rookie HC.
