Yeah this just depends on your truck in particular, my 1996 xe has cupholders, and for the most part is clean. I've got some of the same issues though too, belt squeaks no matter what I do to it and it's extremely embarrassing, it's slow, and that's just how it is I guess. These trucks are getting rarer and rarer these days though, and I absolutely adore mine. I wish I had a nice 4wd version, I'd feel much more willing to try and make it pretty, but there's barely any of those left anywhere.

My roof and hood paint is gone, too. Roof is rust, hood is primer. It was originally maroon. But my interior is in excellent shape for 216,000. My truck also doesn't have a tilt or steering adjustment.

I took my hardbodys fugly old door panels out and peeled all the old vinyl off, wrapped the upper plastic piece in carbon fiber, and traced the cardboard under the vinyl on to a piece of black abs sheet. Cut it out and attached with stainless finish washers and socket screws. Looks badass, cost about 50 bucks to make.
on my hardbody im going with a custom one piece driveshaft thru a local shop and for camming. Delta cams makes cams for the ka24e wont make it turbo fast but will give it more kick so you can at least beat traffic a little ill be making a video on that once my shop has finished repairing the frame rails and rocker panels at the end of the month

I guess my safety concerns would be the fact these are mini trucks so they are very compact therefore maybe others with bigger cars or trucks don't see us..just saying because I've been almost run off the road by semi driver's and wreck less crossover with turbos and a very entitled crowd of luxo or super cars. It's a Hard life to be a mini truck owner now in days. .at least life is a little less harder with the classic D21 Hardbody. .

yeah your column is non adjust. pacesetter header, advance your timing and pop a 3:73 3rd member in it and its not as slow. seat bracket adapter is on corbeau's website. s13 non hicas steering wheel hub slides on can run any after market wheel you want. peep mine for ideas.

The squeaking is ur belts too loose or has lube on em, or they're so tight that they're ruing the pulley bearings. I bought a Walmart center console that has 4 cup holders and multiple storage spots that fit PERFECT between the seats. No, u can't move the steering wheel unless u wanna do something creative lol. Grind ur rust ALL THE WAY OFF, fill pits with bondo, and paint it.. ull be surprised how much is just surface rust. Learn how to bend plexiglass and mount ur own lights (and learn how to wire). U put 100 bucks a month into that thing and u can have it absolutely mint in 1 year. It's an awesome investment. These trucks don't break and the mileage isn't terrible when it's running right. I was really sad to see ur other video (when it was raining) and how u did the cup holder lmao. Thats some crap I would do 15yrs ago lol... I remember when I was 18, my friend blew my factory speakers, so I NAILED 6x9s into the door panels and put those big ass house speakers in the back hahaha. Dude have fun with the truck, but don't forget u CAN actually make it super sick for really not much money. As long as u do things correctly, even a slow investment budget will get it to where u would just fall in love with it.
As far as cup holders go you can go to a U-pull it junk yard and look for a path finder get the bucket seats and the console it has a two cup holders and the seats will bolt up in the original bolt holes so no drilling and the paint job well all I can tell is get your ass busy sanding and that noise up front is one of your belts lose or worn out adjust or replace belts to stop sweaking a simple way to find out what belt is making the noise have truck running and with some WD- 40 with the spray nossle spay it on one belt at a time till it stops making noise and that's the one you need to tighten up or replace if worn out and cracks in the belt !!!

?????? I bought my 1989 4WD Hardbody new in 1988. Drove it for 23 years and 210K miles until my wife talked me into "selling" it to my Brother-in Law. I kept it in great shape for 23 years, and he trashed it in 3 months.... Had the original paint, interior, pretty much everything. The leather shift knobs were so worn from the oils in my hand that the leather looked like shiny patent leather that Pamela Anderson would have a skin tight leather outfit made from. Wish I could fine one in good shape today.
Hit up rock auto for black carpets, they offer different colours, around $150. Some good points in there, but should change the video name to '10 reasons i hate -->my

those are petty things that can get repaired, i dont understand why your truck is so low, i had one of 97, a 2x4 which had a pretty good height ride and mine had a black interior. regarding the steering wheel, it cannot be adjusted. regarding the engine, a good maintenance will allow the vehicle to be quieter and believe me, their fuel consumption also are very decent for their age
Dude...I have the exact same truck. Only with the v6 and automatic trans. My shit flies. Love my hardbody. As far as parts go wheels seats whatever. I guess I have the upper hand. I work at a salvage yard so finding parts is NOT A PROBLEM.
Yeah I have 1986.5 had one blow off bounced off windshield didn’t know what it was at time because there was no other cars around wasn’t till got home noticed one was missing, got lucky a local Nissan dealer had them in stock $20 bucks had to paint it to match color though

I have a 96 and have zero road noises or exhaust problems and if you don’t like the power in it then turbo it and it’s a ka24e motor and parts from a Nissan 240 will work for the motor and I can find wheels all day long to fit the stock 6lug without adapters just milling the center hole of the wheels and the reason for no suspension travel is because you are trying to slam the truck with wheels that are offset to where they poke out you basically have it static dropped if you want anymore info reply and you can follow the Instagram for messaging

Buy a 240sx alternator tensioner it works 1000 times better the squeak is just gonna come back with the stock tensioner on 👍 my d21 had that same problem that squeak is like hell and embarrassing sometimes buying a new belt won’t work for to long
Sorry dude, it's not about the truck that you hate, its you, everything can be fix and make it nice. d21 motor if you know what to put in the motor it will go fast. my d21 goes 11sec 1/4 mile..sorry again.
cleaning or color related can't even be hated on. You chose that truck, you can change that as well. But the hp (which you can't really hate on, it's a small truck, shaped like a brick, not meant to be fast) and technicals such as the lowering capabilities (on stock suspension) does suck, I went thru the same thing.

To tell you the truth… Seems like all your problems can be easily solved with some money dumped into it. These trucks go up in value nowadays. So any money you put into it you can get out of it whenever you want. You can get plenty of power out of a 2.4L. I have a 1993 with a 2.4 L in a five speed and I can smoke the rear wheels tires very easily. Scoots around town pretty good as well. Sounds like you need to put a couple of bucks into it, then you’ll be fine 😉
I had the same feeling about the ugly blue interior. I did something about it though, stripped everything, completely remade the interior into a black & red colormix.
I put my cup between my legs😂 I cut my muffler off little thing is loud, yea she squeaks and is old and dirty but she’s a good truck my truck is fast as shit and it’s the same thing as yours but not lowered I haven’t even done much to it and it’s a good thing I love it
The torsion bars could be adjusted differently, I’m sure the shock in spring set up is different after so many years but it’s hard to say without looking at the truck
Bro that squeak is your tensioner pulley, mine has been doing it so I bought a new pulley and changed the belts and it still fucking squeaked!! I know it’s that pulley because I spray wd40 on it and it stops. I even greased the bolt it spins on and it helped but not all the way. Any takes for you?
I have a 95 hard body that I had since it was new I had the KA built spent over 4 grand on parts and machine work and had son ed who wanted to race yesterday in a V-8 powered Titan and I smoked his ass in my KA-24 powered Hard body I blew by his ass about buck 30 and was hossing it at him and I throwed it back in forth gear and let her rip tatar chip !!! Embarrassed him so bad he didn't want no more of that KA !!!

Lmao ok. this was the 80s and 90s your cup holder was your thighs. If you want an a different interior, find an old pathfinder they had better color. Suspintion can be solved with heavy spring and shock, maybe a 1" lift. But yours looks lowered. Your steering wheel may not be ajustible. But back to the pathfinder you can put it in it. Paint is not hard son. If you want the og color go to your local paint shop, get them to pull your paint code or match. Nowadays you can even get it in rattle can sooo.

Take everything out, cap the vacuum lines close to the intake manifold, remove the charcoal canister and block off the egr.

The wd21 Pathfinder come with adjustable collums and SE 21st pick pretty sure no other models have it factory

cleaning or color related can't even be hated on. You chose that truck, you can change that as well. But the hp (which you can't really hate on, it's a small truck, shaped like a brick, not meant to be fast) and technicals such as the lowering capabilities (on stock suspension) does suck, I went thru the same thing.
I basically wished it was a 240 but tbh it was a great truck, and its in the title 10 things **I** hate about the d21 not what everyone should hate

To tell you the truth… Seems like all your problems can be easily solved with some money dumped into it. These trucks go up in value nowadays. So any money you put into it you can get out of it whenever you want. You can get plenty of power out of a 2.4L. I have a 1993 with a 2.4 L in a five speed and I can smoke the rear wheels tires very easily. Scoots around town pretty good as well. Sounds like you need to put a couple of bucks into it, then you’ll be fine 😉

I had the same feeling about the ugly blue interior. I did something about it though, stripped everything, completely remade the interior into a black & red colormix.

The torsion bars could be adjusted differently, I’m sure the shock in spring set up is different after so many years but it’s hard to say without looking at the truck

Bro that squeak is your tensioner pulley, mine has been doing it so I bought a new pulley and changed the belts and it still fucking squeaked!! I know it’s that pulley because I spray wd40 on it and it stops. I even greased the bolt it spins on and it helped but not all the way. Any takes for you?

I have a 95 hard body that I had since it was new I had the KA built spent over 4 grand on parts and machine work and had son ed who wanted to race yesterday in a V-8 powered Titan and I smoked his ass in my KA-24 powered Hard body I blew by his ass about buck 30 and was hossing it at him and I throwed it back in forth gear and let her rip tatar chip !!! Embarrassed him so bad he didn't want no more of that KA !!!

Lmao ok. this was the 80s and 90s your cup holder was your thighs. If you want an a different interior, find an old pathfinder they had better color. Suspintion can be solved with heavy spring and shock, maybe a 1" lift. But yours looks lowered. Your steering wheel may not be ajustible. But back to the pathfinder you can put it in it. Paint is not hard son. If you want the og color go to your local paint shop, get them to pull your paint code or match. Nowadays you can even get it in rattle can sooo.

Bro everything you don’t like about it I don’t like about mine lmaoo I got mine with Red interior I wish I had gotten blue instead🤦🏽♂️ but yeah man I like the little wheel power it has I been sliding mine but because mine is stock on hight there’s not many things you can do with it unless you have like 10k to turn it into a little drift demon
