Im a rookie. Im a makeup artist who want to shoot besuty couse there is not many photographer since i moved to the country . How do i shoot close up beauty potraits setting and focus wise ?and what lense ? All reccomendation is gladely welcome 😍hugs form Europe
I first had the A7II as well. It's night and day difference with A7III autofocus. There is eyeaf on A7II if you map it to a button. I didn't know that for the longest.
@@StandardUA-camrExcellent is that really? I've got the A7ii and the camera store told me it does have eye af, i have tried to set it to a button but i can't select it, it always says it does not work with this lens, and i have tried multiple lenses
Thanks for adding that BTS part at the end. It's nice knowing that things aren't all seamless and peachy when making a video and that you have to do multiple takes to get things right, and also to have fun with it.
Your wife is so beautiful but also so funny. You guys are a great match. Love how your focus on multiple brands, equipment and software while providing real live perspectives. Keep it moving Bro.
After shooting Nikon for the past 20 years, I switched over to the Sony camera system at the beginning of April. I was playing around with my Sony A7 iii at a wedding and ran into this same issue. The camera was focusing all over the place, and I did not understand what was happening. I am already a subscriber of yours and knew somewhere on your channel you provided us with the content on this problem. I’ve changed my setting to yours, and I’m off and running. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing Manny and Diana! You guys have inspired me to go Sony! I’ve been watching your videos to help me prepare for the switch! Great work!
@@houstoninternationalmedia3408 thanks! I just got it last Thursday! It's definitely a game changer! Now I'm trying to figure all these Sony components!
@mannyortiz There's an easier way to do this. Set your camera to af-c and flexible spot with back button af then map the ael button to af-on plus register af (af-c plus wide). This way af-on is flexible spot and ael is af-c plus wide. No more changing af points but just 2 buttons that controls both.
too late to win the programme capture one, I saw this video announced on my telephone and lost it, but I'm happy that I found it again, Thanks for these tips which must seem so elementary too you now, but soo good to us out there in the middle of thousands of youtubers each telling us how to get the best out of our sonys, stay natural manny, you are very good in what you do!!
The love you have for photography ( not just Sony) but all Art. I will continue to follow your work. I learn a lot from your videos. Just a question, can you do more Nikon ideas...lol
Its probably hard when Manny shoots Sony. Dont wanna sound like negative whining asshole but id suggest you to get learn how your camera works and get used to it. I shoot with Nikon d7200 and man, i wish the body could do more, since i love to shoot in low light (alot in the night time) and the 1 stop from more from fullframe sensor would give me so much more. Cant afford better camera atm so got to work with that!
I have been struggling with this since I got the A7iii so make sure to let your wife know I am here asking about it! Thanks for showing the steps to make it seamless!
I’m still waiting for the Manny & Diane UA-cam channel. I love your chemistry. You guys are truly blessed to have each other. I’m staying with Canon and continue to watch your channel. Keep up the great work.
This is actually a great tip. I’ve had some issues in low light conditions losing the eye and I lose all focus on the area I want to focus on because of that WIDE setting. I’ll have to try this out. Looks like it will help me at least move to the area I want to focus on rather than depending on the camera and waiting on it to decide. Thanks Manny. Appreciate the tip. - #ShootDopePics
Even though I didn't ask this question, I'm glad you posted it because it was something i was worrying about with regards to grabbing proper focus in those situations
First of all thank you for all your great content you post. You really making me lean more towards Sony especially showing more capabilities of this camera of autofocus features.
Glad you 'read out' the difference in using flexible spot rather than wide for shots where the eye is not in view. Few have noted that the little boxes are actually focusing on the nearest point; actually, answering this question was important for us who have the tracking focus in one camera, but not in the A7 III (Sorry, Diana.)
You guys are so funny I love how you both work together to Impact the channel it’s a real inspiration to us married individuals looking to get on UA-cam with our significant others. Do you ever do beauty shoots I’m really interested in beauty photography? I’m trying to get into tethering so capture one might be the way to go

Thanks for this video. It’s going to really help me out when I get my first Sony. Switching over from the Nikon z system to Sony and I am going to need all these tutorials to get up to speed with the new system. Tell the wifey this video was needed. Lol.
Manny I love how you are always honest in your reviews and how clear you are with your tutorials. Thank you for being a big inspiration and continuing to serve in the photography community.
Thank you Manny! I feel like I owe you money every time I watch your videos! I am a new Sony photographer this helps me out a lot! Bdw your wife is gorgeous!
Manny, tell Diana that you are so attuned to your viewers needs that you just know what we want to watch! Thanks for clearly explaining the best autofocus settings now that we have updated our Sony cameras with the latest firmware. I am feeling the need to go back and revisit all my in camera settings to see if they are still optimal. A quick tutorial on A7iii/riii in-camera menu settings in 2019 might be very helpful ( I am asking you, Diana, ha,ha!) Jonathon looks like a patient young man but surely he is Diana's baby bro -not her son!
Great info been wanting to have a travel camera other then my APS-C Fuji. I bought an A7ii and wasn’t impressed at all by the auto focus it was awful honestly. The lack of joystick was a bummer too. I am humoring trying the A7iii to have a full frame walk around camera that’s the size of a Fuji. Tell her this was EXACTLY the video I needed to sway me to try the A7iii as a contender! Thanks dude!
Too funny!!! Your sweetheart keeps you sharp man. Happy for you! Takes a supportive partner in life to make our photography passion work. If she/they are unhappy, our passion suffers. Good for you guys!!📸👍🏾👍🏾
Manny, Thanks for answering the question that’s has been a challenge for me for a while. I have tried different settings but couldn’t get it to work right. This did it for me. Thanks for answering the question that Diana didn’t think anyone asked or needed the answer to. Sorry Diana ☹️

You probably still have your po-po senses!! I also use the same focus setup! Can you post a video of how you contact models for your shoots?! Thank you!
I've been the owner of A7III for 4 days now and absolutely love it! I purchased it mainly to shoot videos, so can you please do some video/film making tutorials, covering some good settings etc.? PS: Love the chemistry between you two! :D
Totally agree about Capture One, most powerful raw editor on the market. I would love to get a Pro licence 😉 Keep the good work Manny, Sony should also thank you as I bought an A7R3 because of you. Thanks for all the content!
