I always love how Bogomil is obviously warming to Axel (even if he's frustrating the hell out of him) when he tries to cover for Taggart and Rosewood with the supercops story. His little silent chuckle when Axel admonishes them for fucking up a perfectly good lie completely seals the deal.
You can see Taggart’s actor hiding his face from laughing, because that part was improvised by Eddie, and it honestly made the actor almost ruin the shot
These movies were some of my absolute favourites when I was a kid. Love the friendship between Axel, Billy and Taggart! Can't believe I never realised Mike from Breaking Bad is in this before, lol.

What I love about Martin Brest (the director) is his ability to insert extremely serious, incredibly dark moments into comedy films. This film, and Midnight Run are two examples of this.
Beverly Hills Cop put Eddie Murphy on the map as a Hollywood movie star, as he had been mainly known as a comedian and SNL cast member before being cast as Axel Foley. Funny thing is, Sylvester Stallone was originally the first pick to play Axel, and the movie would've been vastly different with him in the role. But he passed on it and Eddie Murphy was cast instead, so the movie was altered to match his more comedic sensibilities. Also, Murphy turned down the role of Winston in Ghostbusters for Beverly Hills Cop. Both movies came out in the same year and ended up being two of the biggest films in 1984, so things definitely worked out well for everyone.
@@samuraiwarriorsuniteNever recovered? Dude, are you talking about? The late 80s SNL bounced back like a motherf*****. By 89 SNL was more popular than ever.
He literally saved SNL in 1981 which made him a known commodity. He was also the star of 48 Hours & Trading Places which came out before this & his stand up special Delirious came out on HBO a year before this movie. He was already a star long before this movie came out.
Fun reaction, Addie. I'm so glad you enjoyed Beverly Hills Cop (1984). Seeing Axel Foley stuff bananas into the tailpipe of Billy & Taggart's car was so bananas. They also made a fun duo, even if they struggled to get through the wall. And Billy saved the day at the end. It's also neat that you were able to recognize Judge Reinhold in this movie, since you've seen him as Neil in the Santa Clause movies. I enjoyed watching this movie and I'm also looking forward to seeing you watch Beverly Hills Cop II (1987) because that movie is directed by Tony Scott, the director of Top Gun (1986).

Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) is in the sequels. Reinhold was a solid comedic leading man for a good portion of the 80s who made a big splash in the 1982 teen comedy 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High', a film that put a whole lot of people on the map in Hollywood. He played Brad Hamilton. The cast included Sean Penn (Jeff Spicoli), Jennifer Jason Leigh (Stacy Hamilton), Phoebe Cates (Linda Barrett), Forest Whitaker (Charles Jefferson), as well as Eric Stoltz, Anthony Edwards (Goose from 'Top Gun'), and Nicholas Cage in small roles. You have seen Reinhold in 'The Santa Clause' films. There will be a new movie to this franchise called, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, with Eddie, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton (Taggart), Ronny Cox (Bogomil), Bronson Pinchot (Serge from the art gallery), and Paul Reiser (Jeffrey the Detroit cop "This is not my locker!"), and joining in will be Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It will be for Netflix. I absolutely loved Beverly Hills Cop 2, but the third was not my favorite. However, you might just get a kick out of it. Other Eddie Murphy films to see: Trading Places, Coming To America (See Trading first then Coming...there is a special joke in Coming pertaining to Trading!!!), and Dreamgirls.

The interaction between Foley, Taggart and Rosewood is just classic as the soundtrack. And despite heavy subjects and characters that should be taken seriously, it feels like a warm breeze. Watched this movie over and over and over at a friend’s place. Always was our first pick. Addition: only just now recognized Damon Wayans handing him the banana, and Mike (from Breaking Bad) as Maitland’s hechman 😂

14:38-14:43 Blocking the exhaust pipe of a vehicle will create backpressure, so exhaust cannot be vacated from the engine, which in turn will mean it cannot bring in as much oxygen, which in turn means that the internal combustion engine won't have power to move the car, and in short order the engine will die. (I learned how this worked later in life when an oxygen sensor failed in a vehicle, and the way it failed closed a mechanism and starved the engine for oxygen. (Funny enough, removing the sensor would provide enough oxygen that the vehicle would run rough, but could drive the 30 miles to the shop we left it at for repairs, I lived in the country at the time, between "no" and "where" [The middle of nowhere] ) I'm not sure how effective bananas would be, but the concept is sound enough. 18:20-18:30 Pretty simple answer. the club Axel brought them to was likely in the phone book, but he also claimed he saw it on the way over. Directed by Martin Brest - who cameos as the clerk checking Foley out of the hotel - you s/see next his other buddy film MIDNIGHT RUN starring Robert DeNiro & the late, great Charles Grodin. "Beverly Hills Cop 2" is just as much fun, though a slightly different tone but all 3 of your favorites are in it again! And if you like these films, you're bound to love "Midnight Run" with Robert DeNiro & Charles Grodin (and the same actor who played Det. Taggart in BH Cop, John Aston (as a bounty hunter)). I did not care for BH Cop 3 but others enjoyed it, so I can't suggest it either way.
3 movies, the 4th coming to Netflix soon and the Unaired Pilot from 2013 where it's starring Axels son (Brandon T Jackson, you would know him as Alpa Chino in Tropic Thunder) and Eddie has a supporting role leaked online finally a few months ago. I saw it a few weeks ago and it was pretty solid. I thought it would have made for a good buddy cop TV show even without Eddie in it.
First two are very good. Third is ok. Didn’t have the magic the first two had. They’re working on a fourth one now with Eddie Murphy, John Ashton(Taggert) and Judge Reinhold(Billy).
whats funny about when he's walking past the two guys wearing the red and black leather outfits and he turns and laughs is because that was the kind of outfit he wore when he did his "Eddie Murphey: Raw" stand up special.
Oooh... Just wait till you see Billy in Beverly hills cop 2. When you said rush hour it reminded me of the movie that launched Eddie Murphy into movie stardom, which was "48 hours from" 1982. You can see how Eddie transformed from the goofy SNL character and a stand-up comedian into an actor.

An engine has to breathe. It inhales through the air intake on the engine. It exhales through the exhaust pipe. To simulate, breathe in and don't breathe out. More commonly a potato is used. It makes a tight seal.
If it's a comfort, ways such as 'coffee grounds, peanut butter, etc.' used to deceive dogs used to smell for contraband becomes obsolete when eventually found as new training to bypass the 'camoflage' is implemented. So that trick hasn't fooled them for some time now.

Harold Faltermeyer with this theme music and Top Gun is just Legendary status.
Addie, if you loved Billy in this film, you will really enjoy him in "Beverly Hills Cop 2."
$253 a night for the hotel in 1984 would be about $686 a night today.
Rosewood and Taggart do show up in part 2, and yeah that's a definite watch. I like 2 even better.
Both sequels are worth the watch!
Addie BHC II is also a great movie and yes Axel works with them again and has a better plot line and you will love it.
BEVERLY HILLS COP Premiered 40 years ago today. December 1,1984
14:22 - i've seen potatoes get shoved up exhaust pipes, but never bananas 😅
Hi Addie. I loved your reaction to this comedy classic, it's my favourite Eddie Murphy movie! The sequel Beverly Hills Cop 2 (1987) is great & is well worth reacting to. Other Eddie Murphy movies I highly recommended are 48 Hours (1982), Trading Places (1983), The Golden Child (1986) & Coming To America (1988) I like your channel and I'm subscribed :)
Addie, that was fun, thanks! Great 80's flick! The second one is really good also. After that, I think the quality falls off, but BHCII is good, check it out! You're the sweetest!
Just to be clear when the hotel manager says the room is going to be $230 a night, that’s the equivalent of about $670 today.
I will never get over how perfect that face is
The sequel is just as good and Billy is also in it. Eddie is very good in "Trading Places", "48 Hours" and 'Coming to America". Good job with this one. Thanks. BTW the guy who plays Rosewood is Judge Reinhart and you would enjoy him in "Ruthless People".
7:43 I'm sure he's thinking about "doggie," too. 😜
"I should have taken care of you in Detroit" and that's when Mike decided no more half measures. When you know, you know.
Judge Reinhold played Billy. Judge had a few big roles in the late 80s and early 90s.
3:15 classic cartoon character foot skid 🤣
An engine has to breathe. It inhales through the air intake on the engine. It exhales through the exhaust pipe. To simulate, breathe in and don't breathe out.
More commonly a potato is used. It makes a tight seal.
addie part 2 is 1 of the best sequals of all time and part 3 was cool . yes part 4 will be coming out next year i think
It was fun hearing my name throughout this video 😊
Oh my God, can't wait for you to react to the sequel
This was my absolute favorite film as a kid - I hope you enjoy it!
Part 2 is a must watch
All three are good.
Fun Fact: this was originally written as Sylvester Stallone movie. He turned it down, and Murphy made into a more comic movie.
One of my fav moves. The sequels are good too. Loved your reaction
If it's a comfort, ways such as 'coffee grounds, peanut butter, etc.' used to deceive dogs used to smell for contraband becomes obsolete when eventually found as new training to bypass the 'camoflage' is implemented. So that trick hasn't fooled them for some time now.
You should for sure watch the sequels. They are great.
Hey Addie, love your reactions. Theres this show called Touch, with Keifer Sutherland... it is MIND BENDINGLY good.... i suggest you at least check it out
1000% watch the sequel. It's awesome.
