    @B&H: With what Camera is this Video shot???

    Be good to see some sample footage. 4k is great but if a more refined and dynamically improved gamma curve and significantly improved low light is included, it might be worth a look. It would though be good to see samples of that. Im always skeptical of a claim that "needs no processing in post" - anyway the proof is in the seeing.

    Honestly I didn't see any change that would make me buy this if I had a XA20. Thankfully I don't have a XA20 either

    I am saving up money to travel to the stayes and countries thar relatives live in, and I am trying to figure out if I should buy lenses (sigma arts), or a canon xa30 (I want to make it look more like a documentary).

    Before buying this one clarify me, to out putting SD DVD, it is advisable to cover HD footage and down scaling to SD or Straight away Covering SD footage from the Camera for best possible quality. which is best.

    • @BandH
      @BandH  6 років тому

      The general rule of thumb is that the higher quality you start off with, the better the finished product will look. A DVD shot in HD should look better than a DVD shot in SD. Also, the XA30 and XA35 only shoot SD in 4x3, shooting in HD will give you a 16x9 format, which is standard.
      Thanks!

    What is the feature benefit difference between the 30 and 35? Seems from what little I can find anywhere, it's like one feature difference and a lot of money in between. I want to buy the 30 for the savings but don't want to find out later I gave up a feature in the 35. Or... at least know for the savings it was worth giving up said feature. So what is/are they? Anyone? Thanks.

    I'm considering buying a camera especially to film some music videos, events, small documentaries. I have a Canon 6D and not too sure if I should go for a 5D mark IV, because i also do photography, or go with a camcorder. A lot of the events I film are at night so low light is a must. I didn't really like the idea of spending $3500 anyway on the 5D mark IV, plus i would need to buy a lens to my equipment with Image Stabilization. So i ve done research and it seems this Canon XA30 could be a great option for me, but apparently the quality is not as great. Can someone recommend a solution? thanks.

    This "old" style, where an actual human presents a product, is much better than the last few videos in this "happy, energetic" run-of-the-mill product-ad style, which basically were unwatchable. (And he could just handle the product and show it, instead using those isolated on white shots...)

    I've been considering getting the XA30 for making short films. Will the XA30 make my films look at least semi-professional? Can it shoot at 24p?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  8 років тому +1

      This camera, combined with your own skills, experience, editing, lighting and professional grade microphones, etc will achieve professional results. The ability to tell your story is equally important to the results. This camera will shoot in a 24p mode (23.98fps) and has been the tool of choice for many filmmakers and event videographers world-wide. >Mark

    nothing earthshattering in terms of improvements from XA 20/25. The jump from XA 10 to XA 20 was huge.

    I bought a XA10 and XA20. The XA20 was a much improved camera over the XA10 but I see this a big disappointment.The Sony PXWX70 with it's 1.0 inch sensor and SDI out for less money than the XA25 or XA35 is looking real good. Canon has a 1.0 inch sensor in their point and shoot stills camera that is very good. Canon why did you not use it in this XA30 and XA35?

    Great looking camera Canon...bar one thing, still no 4K or at least high frame rate full HD!
    I feel like Canon is getting further and further behind the video market lately in their prosumer range video gear and even their pro duel purpose gear. With rumours abound that the new 5D mkIV won't have 4K either and only the 1DX mkII receiving this with the 5D mkIV not even being the next DSLR to launch, they are seriously at risk of loosing many Canon shooters.

    i like it but it should have been 4k to compete think of what it could be with 4k it could get bigger than the gh4 etc with the sdi and the other camcorder only things like xlr there are still a lot of people who want it but choose the gh4 etc because they need 4k but cant pay the price of most canon 4k products and don't like the specs and body of the xc10

    Does this mean that there will be a HFG40 with 4K pray to god? I hope so! That way it could compete with Sony's FDR-AX100.

    So I am in the market for a camcorder. At this point I have looked over just about every camcorder under $6,000... I am not entirely sure what Canon is thinking with these offerings. Is this Cannon milking the public with old technology? I can't imagine anyone that has done any homework regarding a camcorder purchase would even think about any of their offerings. They are all way out dated in the spec department, including these! These two both have tiny sensors (bad low light), only one ring (professional?), doesn't shoot 50mbps (the networks won't want it), the audio quality sucks at 16bit (I am an audio engineer and the new standard is 24 bit), and it doesn't even shoot 4K! To make it worse they want $2500! In comparison, Sony's larger sensor cameras the X70 up-gradable to 4K at $1999 + $500, their new NX100 1" sensor with three rings at $1699, JVC's new cameras with 4K at $1295 and $1995.... WTF Cannon? Sorry for the rant guys but to me this camera is a joke and it is insulting that they think the public would even consider it.

    How do you get the fucking battery out

    • @BandH
      @BandH  5 років тому

      The battery release is right under the battery door on the XA30 and XA35. You should be able to push that release towards the front of the camera and then slide out the battery. If you are having issues with this feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphotovideo.com.
      Thanks!

    So XA35 or Sony x70?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  8 років тому

      +Redwing1980 Two different cameras for different jobs/applications. Ask yourself: Do I need 4K and a 1" sensor? An optional upgrade via a license key (Sony part # CBKZ-X70FX) allows the camera to record 4K; Then you go with the SONY. Do you need an HD/SD-SDI output and a 20X optical zoom lens? The go with the Canon. When you're ready to buy? "You go to B&H!"

    GoPro makes $500 action cameras with 4K...Canon makes $2000 camcorders without 4K. And please don't bring up the XC10...worst attempt to enter the 4K market of all time. Do something for your loyal fans and create an affordable, interchangeable lens, 4K, 240 fps, DSLR or mirrorless solution. #Canon

      @PinnacleStudioPro 9 років тому

      runingman3232 That might have been true a year ago but many people have 4K televisions now (I am one of them). Also, for those who do not have 4K televisions downscaling from 4K to 1080p creates wonderful images with remarkable details. There are many videos that discuss this benefit on UA-cam. You can search it for more info. :-)

    • @gzignl
      @gzignl 9 років тому

      +PinnacleStudioPro yes but for who? Even for a youtube video 4K is not that much of a difference, because youtube compresses the hell out of it. For fast turnaround 4K, especially in consumer camera's is a pain to edit. Most people buying those camera's do not transcode to prores for speed.
      Thi is one hell of a good camera and lots and lots of people don't need more.
      As for the XC10 it's selling like crazy, just like the C100 en C300 before it. Not everybody is on the Sony bandwagon, which has lots of issues on its own.
