Have the same model bike that will need the same thing done as well. Very good set of tutorial video's. The one main thing for me was how to make sure the time was set right TDC. And all 4 video's have helped me so nice job and you did a very good job on explaining things. People are diffrent on how they want things explained and you did a well job on doing it. Good job. I will be saving all your video's on this so thank you. I went to start my bike one morning and the starter just spun amd the gears you could hear spinning but no crank so I replaced the starter, stator, spark plugs, spark plug wires, rectifier, battery, and now just need the starter clutch. If it done start and run after that I don't know what to do. But like I said when I try to start it the starter just turns and nothing happens. So hopefully my 01 yamaha xvs 1100 classic will be running good. After all this I will also have new break pads and new tires and tubes as well and new oil and hope it will run good. So after all this I will have the carb synchronized and after all this the bike should be in very good shape.

I want to buy the OEM parts, but there's a $60.00 starter clutch replacement kit. The only part that is missing the small sprocket. Is this just an additional part that's optional, or does it play a part in making the starter clutch operate right that putting the old sprocket will not do? Do you know?

Good question I need the same done to the same bike.... And I would say if the old one has all the teeth and is still in good condition then use the same one that was on there. I always have herd "don't try to fix something that is working and not broke yet".

Awesome job !! Where does those 2 little bearings go ?? They look like one goes on each side of the stater clutch gear . ?? Am I correct ?

Nice job I’m doing the same on my bike but I’m not sure if I should by the after market kit it’s much cheaper than the OEM Kit which is very expensive what kit did you use 👍🏽

Hey Vec great video, i did the same and lined up the 2 dots for positioning the timing on the crankshaft. How did you get the torque on the flywheel nut without everything moving on you? I have a allen key in that hole but when trying to tighten the nut it wants to move on me....will this matter if everything is turning?

Can't remember is i had that problem or not think it moved some but like you said if everything moves, it might not matter just check time when you have it tight

Got her going Vec, started up on cold start with choke on smooth as silk. No more whacking sound on startup. I used a copper coin to jam up the gears. When i took the one way bearing out with the roller bearings in it; well there was a crack in that and i guess everything was binding up and when the gear came out by the starter gear there was a wear mark on the bottom of the engine casing where it was kicking back. Thank you sir for the valuable video :) :) :)

Focus on the work and quit repeating the same shit 1000 times "just about done now" (2 hours later) "you know, we're just about none now" Jesus Christ....
