    I am very happy to see the truth about what briefs to use, and plastic backing is the winner. I hope fitted brief manufacturers restart taking this seriously and into consideration. We don't need to be dealing with inferior products day by day.

    I love the crinkle sound of nappies/diapers. 0.54

      I agree. Cloth is fine for washable diapers, but for disposable diapers, I've always preferred plastic backing.

    Great video. I prefer the plastic backed because in the past I had a olor problems with cloth backed. Thanks for the explanation on it.

      I also prefer plastic backed diapers they're much more comfortable than cloth backed diapers and underwear which suck

    Another great video!! I do miss those molicares with the breathable sides. I was disappointed by them again when they recently changed and went to the elastic style now those for me are you probably the most uncomfortable diapers I’ve ever worn and unfortunately bought a case of medium and large. So I’m off to searching for a comfortable and reasonably priced product.

    I remember when most adult diapers used *"plastic-like"* backing. I prefer plastic backed diapers any day over *"cloth-like"* covering for disposable diapers. Cloth is fine for washable *"cloth"* diapers, but not disposable diapers.

    I'd like to add that "breathability" is not a binary thing; while the vapor permeability of a polyethylene-backed diaper is so low that it's effectively impermeable, the permeability of "breathable" diapers can vary widely - it's a tradeoff that manufactures have to decide on; higher perms are better for skin health, but they also cause the diaper to feel cooler and allow more odor to escape.
    More breathable diapers feel cooler when wet because they are cooler - primarily due to evaporative cooling.

      good explanation! Thanks for sharing the added thoughts. for those that live in hot areas they may find the evaporative cooling an added benefit... It certainly can be either depending on the wearer!

    IID expert super is a classic hybrid with plastic centre and breathable side panels, also I think cloth backed diapers sagging is a major or issue

    Thank you for this video. I started needing incon. products around 2008, starting with the depend "male maxi pad as I call them" and then unfortunately needed more protection which I'm so thankful exists so I can life a full life . I've tried both cloth backed and plastic backed. I won't go back to cloth, but I live in a colder climate so I might be biased, but wanted to comment. Thank you for all your videos.

    My biggest complaint about breatheables is after they are wet they have a tendency to start weeping

    • @RealWorldIncontinence
      @RealWorldIncontinence  3 роки тому +1

      in our testing we use colored saline and when we test the breathability of products the most common wetness on the outer shell is clear.non-saline water from condensation.. while some product do "weep" and certainly feel like they are leaking if its breathable it's more likely to just be condensation. (it does not feel good either way!)

    My experience is that according to ISO Rothwell, the diapers can actually only absorb 30%. I have tested and weighed it with different products, the Rothwell test is a big joke, like a crash test without dummies...
