Because no matter how much talks goin on about the issue the actuall action to solve the deep seated mental problem that caused it hasn't really been done yet.
I’m from Colorado and after the Columbine shooting the media went crazy here over the fact that the two killers Dylan and Eric were huge fans of his and Marilyn Manson’s music. They were actually airing news stories here blaming Em and Marilyn directly for the tragic shooting, because they influenced the shooters with their music which is ludicrous! But a lot of radio stations in state boycotted both of them. It was a good year or so after the school shooting until you heard them on the radio regularly here again! This is an absolute classic track right here! Thanks for your reaction! Much ❤️!
Why make any real changes when you can simply blame rap music, video games etc? That's what politicians genuinely think imo. Should have been solved a long time ago.. That second verse shouldn't still be as relevant today as it was back then. Just sad
I live in Texas and it was all over the news here as well. They implemented a "zero tolerance" rule in schools that made everything so much worse. No backpacks, kid gets bullied he and the bully get in trouble (actual charges), anyone simply mentions the word gun or bomb they get investigated and suspended. They walked all that back years later because it was complete bullshit. On top of that it made teachers look past the bullying because of all the paperwork and time needed to take care of it. Even as a kid in middle school I knew it wasn't the music or video games, i knew it was the parents and mental health
From what I understand, the killers didn't like Marilyn Manson all that much, and absolutely DESPISED Eminem. Of course a couple racist killers who have a weird boner for German/N@zi music and culture would hate the idea of a white guy rapping.
this song made me realise that this dude is an entire genius -- candence, storytelling, concept, poignancy up till this i thought he was just a shock rapper
Other Eminem Classics to check out : "Like Toy Soldiers", "Renegade", "Not Afraid", "Kill You", "I Need A Doctor", "Beautiful", "Till I Collapse", "Legacy", "No Love", "Kim" (warning-only if you have the stomach for it). Then the entire Kamikaze album.
The colombine bit is so wild. Talking about how people instantly blame Marilyn Manson (or Em himself), give the parents a pass and that nobody would even care if it happened in a different part of the country. "Now it's a tragedy, now it's so sad to see"
That first verse on this track is my all-time favourite verse from him. You can feel the power and energy he put into every word through his vocals on the entire track.
The first time I heard that flow I was hooked, never gave the 1st album a chance until I heard this. This caused me to go back and find songs like Rock Bottom, Bonnie and Clyde, guilty conscience. All songs I couldn’t imagine not having in my life now
@@masterroshi2158 Facts, this man has gone through so much shit that you can tell where he is based on the album. to where we are now he is like the semi complete em with his fast flow his lyrical ability like we get to fawn over his shit now cause we saw and supported his uprising.

I am glad I was able to follow Eminem since he started. These songs have a deeper meaning to them if you followed him through his whole career. This song came out at the time he felt all this. All of it.
Cadence masterclass. He specifically mentions the intention for the cadence in his book Angry Blonde that its for breath control when performing. Just so happens it sounds insane. Bravo, Em. Fucking genius
As someone who doesn't like rap in general, Eminem is one of the most prominent lyricists of all time. What sets him apart from the rest is the storytelling and the emotion due to pulling from his own history so deeply. Even though I don't listen to Em on the regular, I feel like I know so much about his life and experiences because of his vulnerability and what he chooses to let us know about his life via his music.
He wrote this out of frustration because the label were asking for another catchy single like My Name Is and he wasn't able to come up with it so this was him venting about that and all the expectations on his shoulders. It was actually going to be the first single on the album and then at the last minute, inspiration struck and he wrote The Real Slim Shady, which obviously catapulted him into the stratosphere. It's not a coincidence that this song has the lyric "I'm not gonna be able to top a My Name Is..." and the very next track on the album is the song that tops My Name is - Real Slim Shady.
This song was the reason I got into Hip-hop as a teenager. The way he expressed his anger resonated with me as a 16 year old that hated his parents and childhood.
@stevecrawford5619 tupac is the goat! to me! but nas,Jadakiss, big pun,DMX,BIGGIE, JAY Z...I could definitely list a LOT more that I personally like listening to..I completely understand why you think that..as it's your right.. just to me...while he has some absolute classics...he had too many goofy songs, I personally don't know anyone who's pumping Em music! and he's definitely not the goat to any black person of my age and I'm 42 so that's truly my Era! again i get it I think he's all time best seller.. that's just my opinion

Wow, I just watched your first reaction to Eminem, Superman. It’s so great to see you loving him so much after that video. Eminem was and is so misunderstood.
I found your channel yesterday and I have to say I can't wait to see more of your eminem videos. You can't upload them fast enough. I would love to sit with you and just get your opinion on his entire catalog. Please keep them coming!
Not only is Eminem a genius ( no other rapper comes anywhere near him ) but all his backing arrangements are near perfect ( I have everyone one of his recordings, I am 74 - and I like Mozart ) .
Another great reaction! I shared your video on Twitter hopefully the stans come running. They will for real reactions. It's been cool watching you discover my all time favorite artist Eminem. He has so many songs something for anyone to relate to. Keep going can't wait for another to drop. Waiting for Beautiful!
As a person who grew up thinking Eminem was just pretty much disgusting, I circumstantially listen to him almost everyday out of respect. I don’t even really always like the beat he picks, or what he’s chosen to write about, but he is so amazing at writing and making his words and cadence make the actual beat while staying on topic and writing coherent thoughts with punchlines that may occasionally even be humorous. The talent and mastery of his craft, and the skill he has as a writer/poet, is shown off best in this song. Imagine writing a song that at the end of every 3rd beat you must have a rhyming syllable…. Also the picture has to be painted and conveyed that we the audience feel your anger frustration perfectly…. And make the story/point make sense. He even has double rhyme schemes, flow changes, to where his voice is the true best of the song, the drums are background noise. This is my favorite Eminem song, and you captured how I feel about it PERFECTLY.
Old school em is my favorite. Such a legendary time. Miss them times cause now everything is so divisive, from the politics to the music… this was rage everyone could get behind
React to TILL I COLLAPSE or NOT AFRAID , RENEGADE is also a song which Em talks about his impact on the young generation and blames the parents for the way they act not cuz of the way he raps
Eminem has literally hundreds of songs on this level. He's been pouring his heart out for decades. He had a bit of a slump in the 2000s, but is better than he ever was these days, at least when it comes to wordplay and just spitting. Like others have recommended, I would try and stick to his early work to get to know the foundation, before moving on to see the growth. From his broken-home childhood and drug addict mother, to his lifelong relationship with Kim and their daughter Hailey, to his own drug addiction and near-death overdose; from his rise to super stardom and his subsequent fall from glory when the rap world turned their back on him. He has so many stories to tell, and he was basically telling them in real time.
I love your reactions to Eminem and seeing you appreciate his music! Going in chronological order definitely gives context to his songs, but sometimes it helps to get a feel for his mushc first. A couple songs I think you'll like based on your reactions: "Square Dance", "White America" "Business" "Til I Collapse"(The Eminem Show), Beautiful (Relapse), "Cold Wind Blows", "Talkin to Myself" "Going Through Changes", "Seduction" (Recovery), Headlights (Marshall Mathers LP 2) -- there are so many more...but I will stop there :)
Probably one of the most respectful things about em is that if the public or celebs or rappers are doing things to get on his shit list, he doesn’t make some passive comment about it in an interview ten years later. You go from being a politician talking about how even Eminem is to a lyric in week haha, that’s something I can’t think of any artist/musician does as fervently. Yeah some will make soft references or even maybe drop a name in the chorus, Eminem dedicates a bar, a paragraph or even a track to you haha
I research about why Eminem Wrote The Way I Am: "The song was written by Eminem to express the negative side of the fame that he had gained. The song makes points such as him not being able to go out in public and live a normal life due to him being harassed by fans. He also vents about the pressure put on him to top his earlier work on The Slim Shady LP."
About 2 years aftery family and I came to the U.S. I used to have this song on REPEAT every single day for a good minute even though my English at that time wasn't very good, I just knew this song had a very clear message, now that I can understand everything Eminem is saying it's 💯% true and very real. If I may recommend a song from a former (RIP) Venezuelan rapper Canserbero with English subtitles any of his songs will blow your mind. Great reaction to this song by the way. 💯
One thing I REALLY have always liked about this song wince this album released, was that SINGLE line about school sh*oters, and the media "blaming Manson", because that alone shows he is not the kind of person most rap fans are, or were back then, where they hated the rocker kids. Em understands what Marylin Manson was going through when the Columbine attack happened, everyone was blaming Manson's music, just like they blame Em's music for similar violence. As you can see, he even got Manson in the video, showing he's not one of THOSE kind of rappers. He doesn't care that Manson doesn't do the same type of music, and Manson doesn't care what music Em does. They can see music unites the underdogs and bullied!
You have some pretty intense emotions huh? You get goosebumps really easily and your eyes well up all the time, even over things that aren’t sad. Your face often doesn’t change, but you form tears. Tells me that you don’t purposely lean into those emotions, they just overflow out of you, meaning they’re genuine. I’ve thought a lot about this, because I’m the exact same way. Feelings of sadness, joy, anger, awe, respect, frustration, appreciation, etc. can all have that effect on me, they often make me form tears. Goosebumps seem a bit different though, I never get them from sadness or any other negative emotion. They’re harder to understand. I call it forming tears because when I hear the word “cry,” I imagine someone sobbing, and that seems very different from what I’m talking about. Excuse the rambling, I just think it’s endearing. It’s what a reactor should ideally be.
I can't even imagine what the clean version of this song sounds like. It's such a classic though. That first verse is insane. You should check out Inspectah Deck's first verse on Triumph by the Wu Tang Clan as well. It's so good. And then it goes Method Man, Cappadonna, U-God, RZA, GZA, Masta Killah, Ghostface and then Raekwon. Just back to back to back
Em put out all these crazy songs with for the most part offensive contents but on the same album addressed twice that it's just music, he doesn't want to inspire hate "Stan" and "The Way I Am" on the same album two stories one of a crazed inspired fan and the implications of that and the media then prosecuting him for that, not giving him a moment of peace even when he's with his daughter. but even when it was "just music" when it came to MMLP I think Em was more focused on really trying to make money for his family, the bigger the splash the bigger the bag and then on The Eminem Show he drops that shit for the most part, he doesn't need shock value anymore he's far too famous and far too rich and really shows the pen behind the madness.. which is his prime 2001-3 Em wrote some of the most infamous hip-hop tracks. this is how people will remember him and also in his older years he put out numerous hits and outclassed every feature easily.
I started watching your videos today, and love watching you discover Eminem. It is like he has several different personalities though. It would be cool if you listened to some songs from the marshal Mathers lp, his first really big album. A lot of them are really intense and filled with rage.
The school bullying line still hits hard to this day. Crazy how a track this old can still stand the test of time and still be relevant today.
That's because the country he's referring to hasn't changed a bit in that regard. So this will continue to be relevant for a long time
it will never get old until the us figures out their problems with guns
What hits is the line about "look where it's at. Middle America, NOW it's a travesty." That shit is deep
@@corysimmons5701 exactly

So the journey of Eminem Reactions begin..I'm here for it!
This is my eminem favourite song of all time honestly
I like the depth in ur emotion for music
Man, to this day, that 'When a dude's getting bullied and shoots up his school' verse still hits hard.... 😢
New to your channel i am glad to see that you have also done other reaction videos to Eminem 😉
This is my favourite Eminem song. And Marilyn Manson is also here.
Its so hard nowadays to express yourself cause what the media will try to do to you. Eminem was one of a kind. He didn't give a f.
It’s what a reactor should ideally be.
my fav song of his so intense and perfect. You look beautiful btw
Just back to back to back
*@**4:07** Em's* referencing his breakout hit *(Hi My Name Is)* saying he's not going to be able to top what we would call today a viral hit
Yes was looking for you reacting to this
I love this song! I totally love Em. He's such a genius. Also, where did you get your necklace? Enjoyed your commentary.
This is the Eminem I miss. I was such a huge fan of this man back then.
It's amazing seeing someone go from thinking Eminem sucks to seeing why he's the GOAT. And impressive to keep listening after her initial reaction.
You should do each album in order, that’s what I did when I first listened to Eminem and I loved it lol
Your reactions became my #2 in one day I hope you continue to react Eminem videos, but also atmosphere (where the road forks- you’d like it)
"Eminem Show" is still his best album for me
One of Ems best ever songs,
one of his greatest songs
Great reaction love this track
Girl, I love this Reaction pretty unique!
Eminem one of my favorite rapper
