If you're going to watch movies for Black history month, please consider Malcolm X, 42 (about Jackie Robinson) and Hidden Figures. Boyz-N-The-Hood is a "Hood Classic" It's definitely some of the worst of our experience. The balance would be good.
Thanks for your recommendations, we will check them out. Cheers!
The mother didn't have a 'temper'. She was fed up with the teacher's microaggressions and her son misbehaving.
Thanks for clarifying the stereotype...I can't...I'm tired 😫
"Whether they don't know, don't show, or don't care about what's going on in the 'hood." One of the most real lines of the movie.
For Sure!! Thanks for watching our channel and your comment. Cheers!

WOW! Great recommendations. We have seen some of them but will add the others to our list. Thanks so much and Cheers!
people in the hood dont even care what goes on in the hood
@@njmenaceifyThey care, but what can they do to stop it? We don’t know where guns and drugs come from. Our neighborhoods have been screwed up for generations. The food is killing us slowly. The schools are underfunded. No jobs. Police are always around. They’re waiting for us all to either die or kill each other so they can buy up everything and move their friends in. No chance of upward mobility unless something major happens. How do you undo generations of that?
The way doughboy treats women is a reflection of how his mom treated him. People keep saying she hit him because he started to fight but technically mom didn’t know who started the fight she just instantly sided with Ricky who is her favorite.
So true. Thanks for sharing and watching our channel. Cheers!
Chris Tucker is not in this movie. The guy with the pacifier was late actor DEDRICK D. GOBERT (1971-1994) playing one of Doughboy's friends. He had a pacifier because he was trying to quit smoking at the time, and the director left it in for that character instead of him smoking in the movie.
We read he died at 22, so sad. Thanks for explaining the pacifier. We had no idea.
@@SiblingsReactandDrinkthe guy you might’ve thought was Chris tucker is Llyod Avery II the gunman who killed ricky in this movie. He also had a role in poetic justice alongside 2pac and janet Jackson. He was arrested for murder and was killed by his cell mate who was racist and demonic I believe
The actress playing Ricky and Doughboy's mother is TYRA FERRELL. She was in Spike Lee's movies.
Thanks for your comment and watching our channel. Cheers!
She was also on "ER"
She's only 7 years older than Ice Cube and Morris Chestnut in real life.
John Singleton holds two Oscar records: first Black man ever to be nominated, and the youngest to date to be nominated (he was only 24 years old, if you can believe it).
24 is very young, he was very talented. Thanks for the info. We only new he got nominated for the OJ Series.
-"Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice In TheHood" was a parody of several black 90's movies. This one, "Menace II Society", "Higher Learning", "Juice", "South Central". If you want some palate cleansers to the violence movies, check out, "Love Jones", "The Wood", "Boomerang", "House Party", or "The Best Man".
-Lawrence Fishburne went by Larry early in his career, then changed it to his full name a few years later in his career.
Thanks for watching and your recommendations. Cheers!
Fun fact.
John Singleton ( writer and director) does small cameos in his movies. In this movie he plays the mailman delivering the mail during the Ricky and Doughboy fight.
That is so cool, when directors do that. Cheers!
@37:57 the mailman that gives her the test scores is John Singleton, hes the director of this movie.
We missed that. Thanks for pointing it out. Cheers!
I love how the sister didn't care and was ready to ride after Ricky died 😅
Doughboy and Ricky’s Mother played in Poetic Justice, she’s the one who said “all I do is dress and rest, cause love don’t live here anymore”
Deep and Real!
she was also in white men cant jump as wesley snipes wife
Watching a classic movie while sipping on Hennessy.. I like your two style
We love Henny! Thanks for watching and your comment. Cheers!
Morpheus, in John Wick, Ike and Tina, Queen of Wakanda, Ride Along, Snow Dogs, The Best Man, Regina King, and Nia Long...etc. A lot of talent in this movie.
Yes they are all great actors. We been watching them since the 80's. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Regina King is an icon she is also the vioce of Huey and Riley from the Boondocks cartoon very hilarious worth reacting to
Awesome, I saw this shortly after it came out. Cool to see those actors when they were young.
LOL. They are in their 50's mow.
Ricky’s wife played in Class Act (Alysia Rogers)
Thanks !
Classic movie choice 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
An oldie but Goodie!! thanks for watching, Cheers!
Did Rick say Cuba Downey Jr.?😂 thought I heard that, I laughed too hard!

Among the best things I love about Boyz n The Hood is Doughboy for his character and story development and Ice Cube’s performance in the role.
Cube at the time was among the emerging hip-hopers in the 90s with his debut solo album AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted after leaving NWA.
The guy may not have had attended drama class in school, never did a film, never did a TV show or a stage show but it was the encouragement from John Singleton due to their friendship that convinced Cube to get the part of Doughboy.
John Singleton met Ice Cube when he was a member of backstage crew at the Arsenio Hall Show and even though Cube turned down the offer a couple times, I’m beyond glad he accepted the offer.
For an inexperienced actor in a cinematic debut, Ice Cube did an awesome job playing Doughboy. He played the role as if he (Cube himself) never had a dad, is the subject of ridicule and verbal abuse by his mum who favours a brother of his and ends up as as a Rollin 60s Crip. He did it so damn convincingly that he should’ve got an Oscar, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe - all three for “Best Supporting Actor” and MTV Movie Award for “Best Breakthrough Performance”.
This was long before Cube did the Friday films (film series he also wrote/produced), Are We There Yet?, xXx 2 and 3, Fist Fight, Ride Along, 21/22 Jump Street, Ghost of Mars, the Barbershop films, Rampart, Tresspass etc
If the Marc Webb-directed and Andrew Garfield-starred Amazing Spider-Man films were to conclude with a 3rd film (a 4 hour 3rd film to end the story) and if Ice Cube appeared in it - he would’ve been J Jonah Jameson (Daily Bugle newspaper boss). Imagine Andrew Garfield and Ice Cube in the same room! Wasted/missed opportunity in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions with us. Cheers!
@@SiblingsReactandDrink yer beyond welcome dudes! 😁😁😁😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
U forgot Nia long
Regina king also FYI the guy who shot Ricky was really murdered in prision by his cell mate not long after this movie was made his name is loyd Avery 2nd

Celebrate Black History Month with Malcolm X top 5 greatest film of all time
We will add it to our list. Thanks for your recommendation and Cheers!
Both Ricky and Doughboy have the same mother, but different fathers, that's why the mother is nice to Ricky because he has plans to make something of himself. She's mean to Doughboy because he doesn't want to do much except hangout with his friends.
Thanks for your input.
incorrect... she resented Doughboy ever since they were kids because she resented his father. she always treated them differently.
@@thelegendarydowntowntonybr2598 that's dumb. If she resented his father, she shouldn't have had a relationship with him. Women did have that choice back then.
@@dionkelly8420 the resentment is from whatever reason they fell out. that isn't explained in the movie, but whatever it was, it's made clear that she hates his father and so she mistreats him. not to say it makes sense or is right, it's Actually a terrible thing to do, but that's what she's doing
@@dionkelly8420 Doughboy actually turned out the way he did partially because of how she treated him as a kid. the biggest misconception about Dough & Ricky is that Ricky was the good son and Dough was the bad one. Ricky got away with more including making a baby she took care of, having his girl live there, and extremely irresponsible. Dough got in trouble more, but was loyal to his family and always looked out for his brother only to get blamed for killing him by the mother.
Idk why but I get the vibe like dude on the left in the reaction was in the streets
Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion. Cheers!

Ice cube wrote produced boys boy in the hood
Actually it was John Singleton who wrote and directed the film. Now Ice Cube did write Friday, but this masterpiece was created by John Singleton. May he rest in peace.

I wonder why they didn't add the incest clip into the reaction.....🤔
We do not remember that scene in the movie version we watched. Maybe in GOT or HOTD? LOL
I rewatched the movie last night and saw the part you are talking about. Looks like we missed it the first time. Funny. Cheers!
I’ve seen this 100 times. What part is that ?
The scene when Tre is talking on the phone with Brandi and he says, "If my daddy mess with your mama, we gonna be brother and sister. Then we can do that incest thing"
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
@@SiblingsReactandDrink lol ok I remember that part now
'Whos's after him? What does he do?' In all my 30+ years, that has never crossed my mind to ask, neither has any other reactor said any sh*t like that. Furius NEVER presented as someone who had anyone after him or someone who did something illegal for a living. That was one hell of an assumption and microaggression. And no, dammit, he wasn't 'getting arrested'. He had called the cops. Thinking the baby in the street was was Tre's girlfriend's baby is CRAZY. Also, thinking the girl from Tre's sex story wanted to steal his ride is INSANE. Why do you all assume the worst? Again, none of these things have ever crossed my mind when watching this movie. Your perception is wild.
Tre's girlfriend being pressured by him to have sex has an 'attitude'? You need a daughter to set your mind right, sir. I see you have issues with women. Furius talked his sh*t to Reva about their son, but she couldn't say anything back? You're the one full of yourself. Out of all the crazy sh*t that happened in this movie, their cafe conversation was the only thing that triggered your to be an asshole.
Thanks for watching and sharing your opinions. Cheers!
For real. I'm truly shocked more people aren't catching the ridiculous amount of racially insensitive and misogynistic mini jabs going on here. I've not seen one reaction video where someone actually laughs during horribly sad scenes or make so many unnecessary observations that lend nothing to the plot of the film. They seem bored and apathetic. I guess I just can't understand how anyone could watch such an impactful depiction of what was going on in South Central at that time and show zero emotion. What was even the point of reacting to it?
Can y’all please do menace to society
Sounds good. Thanks and Cheers!
The mom made a difference cause she hated Dough boys father and she was obviously still in love with Ricky’s father and that was why Dough boy turned out the way he did cause of lack of love he didn’t receive from his own mother growing up and those negative words stuck with him
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts with us.
She's right to have an attitude though, she doesn't want to fall into that trap. You're grown, you know the trap or better yet traps.
Hello
Please Reaction on 3idiot and PK
OK. Thanks!
The brother thinks brandi has a bad attitude because she won't allow herself to be pressured into sex?? What??
Seriously. That was crazy.
But she had sex with him anyway. So all that talk about waiting after collage was all BS.
@@Zara-ec1tjit wasn’t bs, it was her response to being PRESSURED. Notice when she did do it, it was not because he pressured her too, which is the way it should be. With your argument, Tre’s admission to Ricky about being scared to have sex was bs since in the next scene, he was on his gf’s neck about it. It was all ego for him. Next.
