Agree. Parenting is job one, children are our future. Marc Lotter is WRONG! The US, RIGHT NOW, is producing more oil than any other country in history. And gas prices are not below pracademic prices. No matter where Oil & Gas is pumped, the price is set by OPEC and Commodity Trades. NOT Trump and NOT Biden. Marc is RIGHT that energy is the primary component in inflation. Everything made (factories), Grown (fertilizer) and especially shipped (the last two adding to the price of food), costs more. Today's average Gas price in the U.S. is $3.46 and Diesel is $3.66 per gallon. And despite Trumps best efforts to LOWER Miles Per Gallon (which only helps to keep Oil companies' profits HIGH, which is and has been the highest in history each year coming out of the pandemic). An Average Regular Gas Car costs $0.17 a mile, not including maintenance which is closer to $0.50-0.60 a mile. And EV has no maintenance other than Tires, which cost $0.03 to $0.05 a mile. Driving a Gas Car costs 10x to 20x that of an EV, which is why countries that relent on Fossil Fuels will always have a higher cost of living. The GOP is ALL about making rich people richer, they could not care about making you richer, by reducing the cost of energy and by default YOUR cost of living. Ask yourself, Why do they HATE Solar and Wind so much? Because it is FREE. They don't want you to produce your own energy. Even though power companies get 21% of the electricity free from wind & sun, 31% in Texas, 54% in California, they don't lower your bill. It's all about profits (buy low and sell as high as you can get away with it). Both parties happily give $60b a year of your tax dollar to Oil Companies, who are already making more money than God. Who pollutes your Air, Your Water, and Your Food and when done making trillions of dollars, stick you with the clean-up costs, while they walk away with all the profits. And dose your Gas, Heating, Cooling, and Electricity prices going down with all this extra pumping of US Oil and Corporate Welfare? No! Because lowering the cost of living is NOT their goal. Increasing the profits of big contributors to THEIR Election is the goal. Not helping you. So start demanding your benefits of renewables and stop making Fossil Fuel Companies Richer. The same is true about Tariffs. It a tax on you, not China. Trump's 100% Tariffs will double inflation. Tariffs only should be used to compensate against countries who undersell the market.
