Pay your down payment for insurance close to the 21st day after applying for your authority. You have to wait 21 days from the time you apply for your Authority and you want to make your insurance effective a couple days prior to that to make sure the insurance company has time to process the filings so your MC will be active on the 21st day.

I second you Mike GET YOUR CDL ! Just booked my place in a new class in May . I’m going start this business off the right way. Gaining all the knowledge and putting my business in a good financial state form the start . Having CDL vs Non-CDL brings more responsibility I think in a few ways but one thing I’ve learned just getting in early in the game is get ORGANIZED is a must ! #grinding

@@entremike is it good to start non CDL first to get my feet wet? Imma be honest man I currently smoke marijuana and I know that’s a big no no in this line of work. The goal is a CDL though for sure so I’m planning on stopping towards the end of the year. Tryna become financially free. I’ve been at my 9-5 going on nine years.

Ottawa Canada. Running a 2014 Ram 2500 (power only, sold my 7ton float last fall).. planning to pick up an enclosed car hauler. I've got a 7ton miska dump trailer too that I run with fencing work. I have my CVOR which I believe is like your MC. Good videos man.

You're one of the real one out and I F wit you. Hopefully we'll run into each other at a shipper or receiver and we can chop it up. Having a CDL is the way to go. I have no issues finding loads for my driver in my semi. And I don't even look at any loads on the board that's below 11 thousands pounds for the cdl box truck I drive. You'll be surprised how brokers will almost always give you what you're asking for once it's over 12k pounds. Because they know the non cdl box truck market is over saturated. And they'll not get a non cdl box truck to take that load. So if I find a load that's like 20k pounds I'll call on it and try to get like 2.65 and up to get in on my cdl box truck or 3.50 and up to get it on my semi for my driver.

The Game Was to be Sold Not Told" The Hotshot game is Saturated and has been turned into an up and down hustle.. Everyone that first started off thinks that they are doing so good and that they are making money until REALITY and Certain issues come up!!! I've watched it get driven into the dirt. None CDL Contributed to messing up the Hotshot game too!!! The brokers get by and continue to thrive off of New Hotshot Companies starting year after year; They last a couple of years go out of business, then comes along the next Contender with a truck, trailer, with big hopes and pipe dream... I've Participated and watched it for years!!! Good Luck to all that try...

My wife and I are looking to get into hotshot trucking. We already have the truck we are looking into the type of trailer and the loads to haul. We are leaning towards enclosed trailers to start.

Excellent content, thanks for doing that. I noticed the load board listed 2 loads back to back and were identical. Does this mean there are 2 identical separate loads or mistakenly listed twice. Also the broker said he had 3 loads coming out of there. Would you ask to take more than 1?
