Hey brother, an android enthusiast here, I have been using my oneplus 5 6/64Gb for 5 years now, I was also let down by the software, but now I have the Pixel Experience Rom on my mobile phone and I am really happy with it! I prefer KOSP, but it's now end of life and development moving to Flamingo, so I'm waiting to see how that goes.
If you don't mind flashing a few more times in the future - KOSP
If you want to stick with something for a while - PE
I always wanted one plus 7t McLaren edition do you recommend I buy that phone and put in the custom ROM?
Only if you can get it for a good price.
The ones I see around online are often too expensive for what they are.
Between the camera and battery, you may as well just get a Pixel 6.
Something to keep in mind too is that the Maclaren edition is counted as a different device, so ROM releases are less common on it that the 7 Pro/7T Pro
@@FilthyCasualTech i have a 7t pro McLaren that I bought when it was released in 2019 and i love it till date i never wanna upgrade my phone after this. But unfortunately since Android 12 will be it's last official upgrade i might just upgrade my phone in 2023.
I'm still holding out hope that under screen cameras will finally work by then!
How to download the pixel experience on OnePlus 7 pro?
Can see you found the install video 😁
Link to the ROM please!
Have just updated the description with the links
Bro, I have flashed KOSP 2.6 on One Plus 7 Pro, and it is very smooth 🔥.
But got only single-660 multi-2450 in geekbench test which is low
Also in throttle test it is spiking up and down b/w 78-96% (Clocks are all over the place)
Starts throttling Battery-39°C and Max Temp is 41°C in 7minutes
(Sometimes even test starts throttled @80%)
In OOS11 Battery Temps were going above 44C which was hot ,but there were no throttling.
Did I do something wrong ,Please suggest.
(Widevine L1 wast lost to L3 with OOS11 and even with KOSP it's still in L3)
That score only seems a little under standard of 700/2500 - doesn't sound all that concerning.
The throttling I can't comment on as I didn't test that and I'm now testing YAAP.
My 7T Pro went 10 mins without issue on YAAP though, so doesn't sound ideal.
I've seen L3 flag when the previous ROM you were on was also on L3.
I would be trying to restore that, you could try the MSM download tool and revert back to stock and hope to get L1 back?
@@FilthyCasualTech when i lost L1 with OOS11 , tried downgrading with Recovery as well as MSM twice , it didn't help😅.
in KOSP 2.6 , the clocks are idling @ ~1700mhz as low , even without any load
Request:- Please add throttling test in your YAAP video
I guess if it's still smooth and you don't need to performance, but it's definitely odd.
Have seen quite a lot of discussion about the L3 issue online and yet to actually see a solid resolution unfortunately
Will try to include throttling data in the next review :)
@@FilthyCasualTech Thanks😁
Cut your expressive movement in half, and then again, and then again, and then a few times and it will be looking much better!
Appreciate the constructive feedback, still working on the whole thing so always like getting some notes on what people thought - cheers :)
DOES WE NEED MAGISK OR ANY TYPE OF SOFTWARE TO RUN BANKING APPS LIKE GPAY ,PHONEPAY ETC...
Nope - I was able to run Google Pay and my banking apps without issue
You will need to take measures if you root though
@@FilthyCasualTech can you show us how to go back to original rom and lock the bootloader
Yep, that's in this video about the MSM Download Tool
ua-cam.com/video/V4i7Dnflrsk/v-deo.html
I find myself using it quite frequently
fast charging support bro?
Yep, my Warp Charing worked just as well as it did on Oxygen OS
Happy Good Easter Friday sir, can this ROM work on 7t pro 5g version?
Happy Easter!
In the about section, what is the model number listed?
I can't find heaps of info on the 5G version, but I think it might share more with the McLaren model - is it listed as HD1925?
@@FilthyCasualTech HD 1925 is the model number
Unfortunately everything I can see is that these ROMs won't work for the 5G.
You will need to find a ROM specially made for it, and there isn't many available - it's just different enough to be a pain
How's the camera experience???
I liked GCAM, great shots and worked well in good lighting
@@FilthyCasualTech I'd installed KOSP way back, but had to revert back using MSM tool as picture quality wasn't good as compared to the Stock 's one... So has it improved or is it still the same
I definitely saw GCAM taking a hit on KOSP, but it felt like Pixel Experience GCAM was on par with OxygenOS GCAM
I've never loved OnePlus Cam so didn't use it all that much
@@FilthyCasualTech thanks! Would be flashing the same in a couple of days
Enjoy!
Does it work with the 5G model?
Best to check out this thread:
www.reddit.com/r/OnePlus7Pro/comments/pdj6iz/custom_roms_ive_tried_for_the_7_pro_5g_gm1925/
Basically, the 5G model is different and painful 😭
I've actually seen some recent YAAP updates for the 5G model if you want to bail on OxygenOS though.
The codename for the 7Pro 5G is guacamoles
The Always on Display burns a significant amount of battery, disable it to get better battery life
I should really test next time, but it didn't seem all that significant.
Can definitely get better battery without it though
@@FilthyCasualTech yeah for me it's eating through 4 to 6% an hour I have a 7t with the battery health being 97% so I guess it can't be efficient enough that's probably why OnePlus never gave us the aod feature
I'm also curious to hear your thoughts on Kosp or Yaap, do you think pixel experience is better overall?
Will try them next 😁
Case link?
I usually use a Spigen Liquid Air case, but the coverage for most of this video is a Dbrand Swarm skin
@@FilthyCasualTech where can i buy?
If you have a 7Pro, Dbrand still look to stock skins, for any other 7 series though you'll be out of luck

How to install
Checkout my install video - the documentation from Pixel Experience is pretty good though
I think its even beter on 12gb ram variant
Unfortunate issue with the McLaren edition is it has less ROM support, as it's counted as a slightly different device
Hi everyone, does Pixel experience rom will allow us to upload original standard pics to Google Photo for free?
It looks like it should as per this update:
blog.pixelexperience.org/2022/01/january-update-and-so-it-begins/
Try kosp thats more stable.
Can't imagine anything being more stable as this was flawless for my run-through
I am curious to try KOSP though
Kosp vs pixel experience!!
I plan on giving KOSP a try soon, so might see how they compare in the future 😁
Try crdroid
Will this work on Gm1920 European 5G version?
Unfortunately it's considered a different device
GM1920 has a codename of 'guacamoleg' compared to the usual 'guacamole', and I don't really see much development for this one.
