Dreamer once said that working with Jerry Lawler was one of his favorite moments of his career. He said he has never seen another wrestler get so much heat from the fans that Lawler did when he went to ECW. It made him proud to be part of it.

The issue between Heyman and Lawler was not just because Heyman refused to take a bump. He had been asked if he would do it weeks beforehand, and assured Lawler that it was no problem. Then when it came time to take the bump off the scaffold, he chickened out. When they got backstage, Lawler punched him in the face and broke his jaw.
Lawler being the WWF company guy, and sparking a feud with ECW is weird from a kayfabe standpoint. Just three years prior he was fighting off a WWF invasion over in USWA.

Great video. I really regret missing out on this as it happened. I didn't start watching wrestling until early '98, right after Wrestlemania 14. I believe the first RAW I watched was literally the next night. There are several epic things I missed out on in '97 and the beginning of '98. Fast-forward to now and I haven't watched wrestling in what feels like forever. I got burned out somewhere around 2014 or 2015. I don't remember exactly.
@@ShubhamMishrabro That must have been about when I checked out because I vaguely remember what I guess were the beginnings of the Jericho/Owens angle. If I remember right, KO was just starting to show signs of being something when I stopped watching. I think by that time I was watching sporadically as opposed to religiously like a few years earlier. Starting right after WM14, I watched every RAW, and then Smackdown, and usually Heat and some of the online stuff religiously for well over a decade. At some point in the early to mid-2010s I started to taper off until I eventually stopped watching entirely. Not for any particular reason, I guess I just got burned out, plus the product was starting to get really stale and wasn't holding my interest.
I think the WWF definitely got a huge boost from the ECW partnership, especially since their biggest star in the world really found his Stone Cold identity in the land of extreme and WWF catapulted him into Legend status
