    Atom LT is probably the number 1 because of versatility, as you stated.

    Great video, I might have asked this before in another video - I have an Atom LT and I'm looking for something I can wear over it to add some more wind resistance as I will be going hiking in a really windy area in a few months. Do you have any recommendations on what to get?

      I really like the sawyer hoody a lot. It's Gore-tex infinity fabric as windproof. Fits great over my atom LT and my proton LT.

    And I would have guessed the Aton AR was your favorite cold weather jacket. Nice video. For lighter jackets which is warmer in the winter, the Nuclei FL or the Atom LT ?

      The Nuclei FL is definitely warmer then the Atom LT. Crazy warm for its weight!

    A couple suggestions. Chapters to jump around to specific pieces of gear. And two, do a 5 min version and I bet you get more views, tough to watch 20+ min videos many times. Thanks for your content.

    I had an Arc goretex pro shell for years. Replacing my hiking / casual coats this year. Bought Ortavox, who use swiss wool with 3L derzimax or Permex, and Mammut, as my Goretex pro shell. However after watching several of your reviews, I added a Thorium hoody. Tx

    Hi Chris. I was reading reviews on the Arc’teryx website and some people said the Covert Cardigan suffered from pilling. Has yours displayed any signs of this?

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  Рік тому +5

      I think that most fleece jackets would be likely to have some pilling at some point, due to the nature of the material. I don't know if other brands are any better or worse, as I only have Arc'teryx stuff. I have a Kyanite AR which a lot of people have said has a lot of pilling. In my review of that fleece I said honestly that I could see that happening as the material is very soft. I have not yet seen any pilling in mine yet. My Covert I've worn a lot, and I have two of them. I don't have any pilling on those yet either. I think that it depends on the use. For me it's just casual use, nothing too demanding. If you're wearing heavy backpacks on them, strenuous activities stretching the material a lot, or possibly after multiple washes, you may see some pilling in any fleece.
      I really like my fleeces. They are perfect to wear under layers for additional comfort and warmth. Or stand alone at times. They are great in all seasons from heavy to light weight, and I wear them a lot even when I'm just hanging around at home.

    What year is your kyanite from? I’ve been wanting one but heard the new ones aren’t as good🥴

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  Рік тому

      My kyanite LT is about a year old, my AR I bought last August. The LT is awesome, no problems with that. The AR is heavier, and a lot of people have complained about piling. I haven't had a problem with that yet. However, I haven't worn it a lot, and when I do it's just casual around the house or out to a store.

    Merino 200, Kyanite LT hoody and Atom LT do you think I’ll be good for a week in Salt Lake City in January. Pretty much gong from car to buildings/restaurants etc. Tia

      @meandmyjackets  Рік тому +1

      The kyanite Lt is one of my favorite pieces, but it is pretty light. I would like something a bit heavier instead of the atom Lt. I like to be nice and warm, so I would prefer something like my thorium AR on top. But as long as you're not spending too much time outside, the atom may be ok, but I'd go with something heavier to be sure.

    which do you like more / which is warmer? Atom AR or Nuclei FL

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  Рік тому +3

      The atom AR is warmer, and heavier. It has twice as much insulation as the nuclei FL. It's a great all-round winter jacket. The nuclei is just really unique because it's very warm for its weight, and it can block the wind incredibly well. I've never had another jacket like it. I'm amazed at how warm and light weight it is. The atom AR is really warm and very comfortable. Both are great in their own ways. I really like them both. :)

      I am putting my nuclei sv over my beta Ar . I dont think you can wear the alpha sv over it, it is too big. Nevertheless it will keep you warm below 20 with a good midlayer like atom ar .

      Keep checking on the outlet site, as well as the regear. You never know when it may pop up again. Just remember that last spring it was revised, and the insulation and length of the jacket was changed from the previous version. I have another video that shows the difference between the older version and the new version as well.
