Great #1 choice. I bought the praxis on a whim and use it everyday. It's kept it's sharpness surprisingly well. I'm still waiting to see when I'm going to have to sharpen it, but it's still cutting hairs when I run it across my arm. I'm going to pick up another. Great video!

    Hey, lefty love,
Gotta share a lefty experience with you. My dear Son, who's a leftyalso, did two tours in Afghanistan. Started him young, with the NRA JUIOR MARKMANSHIP program. On his 2nd tour, he had to take out unnumberd amounts of the enemy. Before he returned home, spotted a .308 sniper rifle, with adjustable Harris bipod, just for him! He couldn't get enough of! Also got him the H&K/Benchmade OTF, before his 2nd tour, which he carries to this day! Just hoping that I got him a good start. Thanks again man!

Great vid! Some of my favorite $40-$20 knives are: Boker Auto's (Kalash is so snappy!), Ganzo G740 (good for larger hands, axis lock clone), Kubey Dugu KU210 (Aus 10, Wave feature, Cool Tanto Design, good action), Kershaw Thermite (reverse tanto, very slim profile), Kershaw Natrix XL (very slim profile, big blade, love the Olive/Black colors). Cheers!

I just watched the video and decided to order one blade, the Harnds Assassin from your link because it had a nice look and at the cost even if it is dead after a year of cutting tape on boxes it will still be cheaper than replacement blades for my utility knife. Not much into clip points but it will work for the little I need it for while I research for a new 5 inch or better karambit.

I carry the Dozier and it's great, with two thoughts. For me, the thumb stud is too tall and catches on my pocket, so I had to file mine down some. Now, it's fine. Another thing I like to find in a knife is handle design that protects my finger from being sliced if I were to say stab cardboard, for example. Fortunately, the jimping is real and effective, so that helps.

Another excellent video. I liked this better than the 20 for $20,& I liked that one a lot ! Finally got a Feldspar, the micarta scale exclusive from White Mountain. Handle a little cramped for my hand, yes it's the full size, but otherwise great. Was already a CJRB fan cause I've had the most unreviewed knife by CJRB, the Brier, for a year now. Can't say enough good things about it. It's almost 3& 3/4 inch blade so not for everyone but I'm a big guy.

Great list Jay! I've always thought that the Tenacious from Spyderco was one of the best looking designs even as a budget knife. I never picked one up because of the blade steel. I just feel that it's overpriced with everything we have in budget knives nowadays. But might have to pick the S35 version up. My edc is the Civivi Ortis and it is such a great knife. Sharp as hell and holds the sharpness well. I didnt think I would like the clip tip design at first but then it just grew on me. If he is saying the Praxis is even better, I'd really like to try one of those sometime soon. I also had a ckrt M16 and it was very good too.

Thank you Robert! It is an "Arnie", good eye. I've been searching for a good watch with a digital and analog display that didn't look like a hockey puck strapped to my wrist. I had no idea how unrealistic those requirements might be. I'm relatively new to the watch world, so I've been focusing on learning all the terminology in an effort to better understand my preferences. I've been reading about the reliability of Seiko's inhouse movement and thought it would be a good place to start.

I own the Brazen, Praxis, Dozier, Rampart, Buck 110, Ontario Rat 1... the Buck 110 was my first and the Brazen is the last one I bought (so far). I don't know if I love the Praxis or Brazen more... I even added a Kwik thumbstud to the Praxis like you did. The Brazen has 14c28 Sandvik and thumbstuds and a lefty capable clip which I love (that's my trifecta) ... but that Praxis action is impeccable...

I know exactly what you mean about the Praxis and Brazen because that's where I'm at with those two. I friggin love the Praxis, especially with the Kwik thumb stud on it, but like you said, the Brazen already has two deployment options with a good budget steel. It's also offered in Micarta, which muddy the water even more.

Say i have a question my honey badger if i put it on my spiderco sharpmaker it gets sharp but when i make my boker plus strike automatic wich is also D2 i can't make it sharp anymore. Is that because of american and german steel?

Yeah, the notifications are weird that way. Do you have the diamond rods for the Sharpmaker or is it the ones that came with it? I just bought 2 Artisan folders for $60 each. D2 steel. One has a Dagger type blade and the other is a similar design. Both are just under 4”.
IMO they were over priced by $20. I’ve bought eafengrau knives for $20 that put these to shame. If I wanted to upgrade to m390 the prices went close to $250.
Oh well. They both are very pokey. I’m not doing any heavy work with any of them. They kind of fit the bill.
Thumb studs are my preference as well.

Sorry I let you down Teddy. I agree, the Ortis is a great knife, but I felt that the Dogma at #5 was slightly more deserving of a higher rank. Here's my thought process on that: For about $7 more, It has almost the exact same blade in D2 steel instead of 9CR and G10 scales instead of FRN.
