Well it looks like your trip is picking up. That's good but a long ways back. Watch the weather and comfort yourself in seeing the US having mega snow storms. Stay safe, Bill in GA.

Playa Santispac sure is beautiful but you’re right to many people. Irresponsible dog owners make me crazy - can’t fix stupid! I appreciate you taking in the old buildings - cool how all those buildings were built from old ships! And the story behind that church, wow. Sorry you lost your footage but regardless thanks for another great video. See you in the next one! Curious, has Lori been to Baja before? Choosing some great places to visit. Be safe!

That is a good question as to what is making the noise, I have heard comments about this before and in fact for quite a few years and with half tons as well in later years. GM had some bulletin out for the half tons just a few years ago to replace the plastic pads on the one leaf spring but I don't know that it solved much. I don't know that pulling the spring eye bolts and lubing them would do much good as the movement is supposed to be within the rubber bushing of the spring eye however perhaps loosening the bolts and tightening them with the weight of the camper on would reset the permanent twist they have in them from all that weight. Some have stated they started having a problem shortly after they had fluid filmed the underside of the truck as it got into the spring pack and dirt worked its way into the fluid film between the leafs. In my mind if it was a leaf spring on leaf spring rubbing action causing the noise I would be tempted to spray graphite spray between them ( that is just an idea, I have no info to claim it would work ) . Also its been said that some have sworn it was the leaf springs when in fact it turned out to be a shock bushing eye. And another item I thought of, you had installed that swaybar and I know when I helped my brother install his the instructions said to lube the inside of the urethane bushings that clamp around the swapbar with the provided lube and I think that was to prevent noise as well as allow for movement. Certainly wouldn't hurt to check the hardware, the spring eyes and shackle as well as the axle to spring pack ubolts. Leaving you with more questions than answers I am afraid 😆

Thanks for commenting. I replaced shocks with fox and greased everything. Squeaked prior to replacing. I lubed leaf’s and no difference. A shop told me it was spring bushing but that’s an excellent idea to loosen then tighten with load on. Never thought of that. Thanks for that!

@@jjsoutthere7267 I sure can't seeing it hurt to try that, loosen and then re torque the hardware while its on flat level ground. I have assumed due to the age of the truck and probably trying to keep it off of crap salt roads that the hardware would not suffer from rust as per dealing with the hardware to ensure a good re torque. One other item I had not mentioned but you may had tried lubing that as well in your experiments and that is the pad contact to the overload leaf although I would be very surprised if that would cause such a sound. By the way does the truck make this same sound when its a straight up and down movement or more noticeable when the camper is swaying from side to side ?. Story time, although nothing to do with your exact situation but long ago when my dad had bought a dually and was pulling a fifth wheel trailer, we were hearing this constant clacking sound when we hit any little bumps in the highway and it turned out the factory had forgotten to slip on these rubber pads onto the steel assemblies bolted onto the side of the frame for the overload spring to compress onto and it and the overloads were only being engaged lightly and clack clack clack down the highway as it was metal to metal ... it didn't take dad long to figure out what the issue was and realized from GM that there should be pads slipped on. Would you be able to fasten on your camera with a microphone under the truck and drive at slow speed like you were in this video over a predetermined rough surface, it might prove interesting.
