There is a reason, there are safety barriers around these rides, and this is it.
Thanks for letting us know Capt. Obvious!
Yeah, but some people think they know better or more. Sounds like some mental issues at play. Maybe wanted a good selfie or video for social media even. People are crazy stupid these days.
Did you not watch the video? The man wanted his keys so he could leave.
I personally would have complained instead of did that though
Misleading title, guest went into the restricted ride path area, a 38 year old man...should've known better 🤦♂️
Ikr
What’s misleading about the title? He did get hit by a rollercoaster. The fact he was being a dumbass doesn’t change that fact
@@Dookieryankind of like using “pedestrian ran over” when someone running across the interstate got hit. Makes it seem like its not the victims fault when in reality, it is
You're just looking for something to complain about lmfao.
@@iamyouniverse5729 do you think people may think it was a runaway rollercoaster? They build those things so it damn near impossible to get hit by one unless you’re doing something dumb
I work Security and honey, common sense is NOT common. Its amazing how people go out of their way to put themselves and others in harms way.
Honey?!? Who calls people honey?!? Wtf
I feel more bad for the kids more than I feel bad for the man. what happened to the man was completely his fault, but his kids did nothing wrong.
Yeah thankfully he did not kill a rider during the hit.
And the people he traumatized on that ride, the employees, and the EMS and hospital staff. They will all be carrying this trauma forever. So sad all the way around.
This guy was dumb enough to 1) not take his keys out of his pocket before riding the ride, so it doesn't surprise me at all that he was also dumb enough to 2) climb two fences into a restricted area and get hit by the ride
Why does leaving his keys in his pocket making him dumb? Where else should he have put them?
@@xoxoMoonChildxoxo In one of the cubbies on the station platform that's designated for that purpose.
@@xoxoMoonChildxoxo It makes you INSANELY dumb and shows a total lack of curiosity or insight. You should take EVERYTHING out of your pockets. It's a ride that exerts multiple times the force of gravity on you. And has negative forces up to half of gravities force, which cause things to "float" out of your pocket. You always put things in a zipper pocket, if allowed, or the cubby and lockers provided. This is really basic stuff.
that’s a good way for someone to steal them
@@xoxoMoonChildxoxoit’s an amusement park. The 1st thing to do at the entrance of the park is to empty your pockets
And the Darwin Award goes to…
...A father of two children who rode the Rollercoaster that mangled their dad
@@RugMann a stupid man who risked his life over a mild inconvenience. The rollercoaster is a non-sentient object, it isn't at fault here. The man mangled himself using a rollercoaster.
So he left the two kids outside while he went to get killed?
Boo hoooo@@RugMann
@@OttawaInHD I think he actually survived. And yeah, he probably did keep his kids out of the dangerous area.
Not really the best Darwin candidate, is he? Considering his kids weren't harmed and he might recover
We hear this story again and again every few years. Some people really have to learn things the hard way.
I am sorry for this man, however the signs are in place for a reason. Dont go into a restricted area if heavy machines are in operation
I'm sure theres more to the story. Like the guy confronting the kid saying he lost his keys, and he probably said tuff luck.
dude there's heavy ass machinery operating and lethal speeds... you don't disobey multiple warning signs without risking your life
Perfect example of the sign does not apply to him!!!
If the train isn't damaged, get it running. Nothing to investigate. The ride did not malfunction. If the dude lives, the customers on the train at the time should sue him for emotional distress. Kings Island should sue him for damages, too.
Good idea
Now you know they are wasting their time suing him. He doesn't have any money I'm assuming but a lifetime ban from ALL of their parks is definitely in order.
Gonna force some new BS safety protocols on the park at the parks own expense… completely unnecessary but idiots are the reason for so many dumb warning labels that it’s inevitable 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
@@kendallbedford2523bruh he probably has a lifetime ban from life 😂😂😂
He didn’t live.
Imagine being the front of the ride
Horrifying
There’s a story several years back that’s similar to this and the person trespassing was decapitated. I know it was on one of the Batman clones but idk which one.
You don’t mess with these rides. Especially these inverts because they do get low to the ground not low enough for a rider to touch the ground or trees but low enough that this can happen. Idk why this guy just couldn’t wait.
Don’t bring personal stuff like this on rides unless it’s in a zippered pouch to avoid the whole situation.
@@ninjagirl226 Exactly or pants with button pockets or zippered pockets!
The Final Destination series ride!
They should sue the mans family for the damage his body caused to the roller coaster
Yep 💯
The family had nothing to do with it. Why put them through that when the guy is the one who made a dumb decision. 🙄. Not everything is about suing someone
@@-greentoad I’m sure it’s a joke bud
im guessing you must come from a broken home or an abusive background of some kind
Banshee is an AWESOME B&M invert. It's absolute common sense to NEVER be in a restricted area. The dude was told no, and thought rules didn't apply to him.
Rules are there for a reason: not just for his safety, but also for the safety of the guests on the ride. If the guest lives, he should be permanently banned from the park.
Honestly, it's the weakest of all the B&M inverts from what I've heard.
Looks like a fun ride
Agreed along with all of their other parks as well
Ever since I almost lost one of my flip-flops on an amusement ride, I always make sure my shoes are tight and everything else is either deep inside my pockets or in a locker rental at the park.
I am so glad you saved your flip flop. That could have been a life changing disaster.
NO SYMPATHY FOR THIS MAN.
I DO HOPE THE RIDE IS OK THOUGH
A typical human response.
how would you feel if that was someone close to you?
@@tswizzle-tk3fi NO ONE CLOSE TO ME IS THAT STUPID
Even though it was incredibly stupid, he did have kids so I can’t help but feel badly for them
There was someone who dropped their hat under a roller coaster in GA and they combed the fence to go get it.
He no longer had a head for his hat to go on.
He left the park and his kids. What a fool. How sad for the kids, how tragic for everyone. Such an avoidable incident.
It's a miracle that he's still alive, praying for his FULL recovery 🙏
I’m going to be honest here because I lost my Dad and Grandma to head injuries. He might be alive but brain dead getting ready for his organs to be donated.
This is what happened to both my Dad and Grandma. And it’s not pretty. I remember my Grandma’s swelling. I remember how cold my Dad’s hand was and the jaundice and discoloration. Some days I wish they had just died at the scene so I would have been spared seeing it. And the delay from injury to surgery for this can be several days cause they have to run a bunch of tests.
Hoping for the best but sadly no news isn’t necessarily good news.
My heart goes out to you in what you've endured ninjagirl, thank you for sharing your perspective . 🙏🙏🙏
People don't know shit about amusement parks. There are barriers for a reason. This was stupid, as he chose to get past the barriers and put his life and others at risk on purpose. The park should not be blamed for this.
He not they. His kids didn't go with him. It was one single man acting stupid.
He endangered multiple lives being a self centered moron.
@@RA-hx9uc Forgot about that, thanks
I hope the cedar fair sues him for damage to the rollercoaster, and loss of ridership for the duration that it has to be shut down, and bans him for life from all their parks.
Hope these kids end up with a smarter father
I'm sure there will still be a lawyer for the guy's family who claims the park should have done more.
The USA is the most litigious country in the world
Great reporting, was the guy hit, hurt, hurt badly, killed, knocked onto another planet????? WTF??????????
Critical condition in the hospital as the video states. Moron.
He is in critical condition
The answer was only on screen for 2 minutes and 10 seconds of this 2:38 clip. Great literacy skills, were you kicked out of school, left school, never attended school, knocked onto another planet????? WTF?????????
He was decapitated... In critical condition
Can you read bro
There's only so much you can do to protect people from their own stupidity.
That's how six flags left our city, a dumb person went in to restricted area and got decapitated
Really? Which Six Flags?
No sympathy for stupidity
actual natural selection who in their right mind after being told that the ride is still operating and that when closed the park will help retrieve the item goes over a labeled fence around the ride
Allot of people do it and don't get hurt... just cause it restricted doesn't mean ur gonna die
@@stabaholic187 Even if you don't get killed or injured, if you are caught in a restricted area, the park has every right to prosecute you.
@@stabaholic187 but if there's a giant roller coaster going at 60 miles an hour through the restricted area it means there is a chance that you will die. just dont go in areas with signs that say you could get hurt.
This and that lady who stuck her hand in the hot sping and yellow stone. We need to turn the difficulty level back up before we're all too dumb to live.
Keys > Ride active
The problem with making things foolproof is there's always a better fool to come along.
Unfortunately the park will be sued for millions for something they have zero control over.
Do people never learn? This same type of accident has happened multiple times on the same model of ride (B&M Inverted) within Six Flags locations
What you have to do is learn the times when the Rollercoaster gets low to the ground, then you can get ur stuff... allot of people do it.. Rest in Peace to that unlucky fella
@@stabaholic187 or just dont be a moron..and go places in a theme park you're not supposed to go. you're a guest
@@stabaholic187 What you have to do is stay out of restricted areas no matter how familiar you are with the ride.

@@stabaholic187 As a coaster enthusiast myself, and being quite familiar with the B&M roar, I'm sure I could figure out where the train is at any given time.
You STILL have to stay out of restricted areas. The park has every right to persecute violators even if no death or injuries result.
If death or injuries result, it only results in news stories like this which make parks look bad. Even if it's the victims fault. And the vast majority of the time, it is the victim's fault.
Did he get his car keys?
was he wearing a orange safety vest
Well, no, of course not. That's why he was looking for a ride in an ambulance. You don't have to tip your paramedic like you do a taxi driver.
🤣
😂
He’s probably mangled real bad
I haven't been to Kings Island for over 50 years. Great to see it's still in business.
Barriers are in place for a reason. Don't circumvent them.
I remember here in the bay area in California a man lost his hat and went into a restricted area and ended up getting his head kicked in by a low riding roller coasters guests foot! Signs are there for a reason!
Wasn’t that in Georgia? Where the boy went over the restricted area trying to get his hat and got his head decapitated by the ride at six flags.
Guy just traumatized his children and the unfortunate people on the front of that ride! I’d sue him, they’re going to have PTSD from this episode of his selfish behavior
Thats why theme parks have lockers for you to put your crap in
Or wear pants or shorts with zippered cargo pockets to prevent loose items from falling out.
A lot of theme parks usually have a place to put your belongings before you get on the roller coasters or any type of ride. Six flags does that and I don’t use a locker.
The family will still sue the park
I worked at Kings Island running rides for 8 seasons during the 1980s, if they figure out who talked to the media he will be fired, this is told to every new employee that only authorized people are allowed to make statements to the media. People are constantly trying to get into restricted areas just for a hat. I used to walk the racer tracks at the end of the night and came back with a garbage bag filled with stuff, hats, game prizes, keys and wallets.
Shut down the ride because of stupidity. lf i was on this and someone did this i would get a lawyer and sue for mental anguish. This has to be traumatizing for the people on the ride.
For a set of keys?
Poor guy just wanted to take his kids home
@@RugMann play stupid games win stupid prizes

Probably had ear buds cranked up to ten.
Impatience
I worked for a theme park and you have to be aware of your surroundings when working at any ride. I don’t know how many times I had to hit the stop button because of someone trying to stand up on a ride before the last drop.
This is ridiculous. All because he was impatient. Those poor children.
note to allllll people who want to anonymously go on the news - it doesn’t work that way. you’re still on the news and people can figure out who you are because they post basically everything except your name and face. lol lol lol. seen it in many different videos aside from this one.
So who is it?
Sometimes speaking anonymously has nothing to do with not wanting those around to you to know, but rather not wanting your face plastered all over the screen, or wanting folks to focus on the message rather than the messenger.
Not everybody has that "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME!!!" type of personality.
I know the park will pay to make this go away and that’s awful. We reward too much bad behavior
Person clearly jumped the fence. They got what they had coming. Doesn't take even common sense to realize you'll get struck going in those areas. Let alone he doesn't even have the common sense to not get in an intense thrill attraction without loose articles in their pocket. Then he goes and traumatizes other people with that ignorance. It's crazy.
He died. I feel bad for his family. Lost keys aren't worth losing your life over.
Oh, that’s an open and shut case. That guy went against rules and regulations and warning signs because he was inconvenience. Guess he won’t do that again. The park should not be held responsible whatsoever. As they say you can’t fix stupid.
This story should've ended immediately after the restricted area part. What a muppet.
This has happend more than once at King's Island. People just need to stop and think before doing something so foolish! I do hope the man will make a full recovery and be smarter the next time. Totally preventable! I wonder if any of the riders will sue the guy?
The coaster didn't strike anything. Dudes head struck the coaster.
Reminds me of the time a guy got killed trying to get his hat that came off during the ride. He hopped the fence to retrieve it and was killed by the coaster
No one tells that guy "No"
The banshee said no!
@@gojewla 🤣
It's going to take longer for him to get home now
Uber does exist. He couldn't call a friend? I get that losing keys is inconvenient, but now, his kids and those other people are left with those horrible memories.
What did those keys have that this man risked everything for, with children present. Awful.
He pulled a real life Stanley Parable. Narrator: "And although he could read all the warning signs, Stanley continued walking toward his demise. There was still time for Stanley to turn back but he was making a conscious effort to scale the "keep out" fences and walk willingly into danger. In his eagerness to prove he is right and get his keys, Stanley walked directly into the oncoming roller coaster. Well whoop de doo Stanley, we are all very impressed"
FAFO is the point made here! Lesson learned
How devastating for his kids
Where are the two kids he was with?
??
Would have to be stupid to not have your necessities secured when going to a place with rides. Even when I was a teenager, it was common sense to have my keys in my front pocket and have them on a key chain snapped to my belt loop. Not long afterwards, it was also common to use a fanny pack to secure your valuables in.
I guess his keys were more important than his life. He is still alive but who knows his condition...
First…that person should have made sure keys were secure. Those keys falling out could have harmed someone on the ride if a rider hit them going at those speeds….this is why everything should be secured before going on these rides. Second…it was their own fault they fell out….so they should wait like the employees said to do. Third…it was their fault for going into a restricted and dangerous area…and this could have even caused the death or severe injury of an innocent person on the ride….but this person didn’t care about others. I don’t feel sorry for this person….they caused this whole situation themselves….and it’s just lucky that innocent people weren’t seriously hurt by this.
I feel like the guy hit the ride more than the ride hit the guy.
The front row passengers hit him. It's amazing that none of them had serious injuries.
Tragic but so stupid. There is only so much you can do to protect people. He managed to bypass several safety barriers, too stubborn or stupid to believe they applied to him.
This team member is about to be so fired 💀
No he isn't.
I thought the same thing.
No he wasn’t
If anything the man is getting fired from his job for being an idiot
If they found out he talked to the media they will can him, I worked there and they tell you that you are not allowed to speak to the media, they have people who are authorized to do so
Too bad he didn't get his Darwin award before he had two kids 😢
I don't feel bad for him at all, not even a drop. He was told to come back but he chose not to wait, he thought he knew better, he found out he didn't. I hope if he survives that he's banned from the park, his children should be allowed to return but with their mom and not the dad. I have sympathy and compassion for his kids and their mother, not him, he should've listened and this wouldn't have happened and he's more than old enough to know better.
At those entrances it's possible to put a safety lockout on their gates to send a command to shut down the ride if that happens
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
Dude clearly never watched the ride while in line.
*goes to Hershey park every year*
Them: why don’t you ride roller coasters?
Me: because while y’all riding it, I’m over here at this fence watching y’all flying upside down 3inches off the ground. 😫🙏😱
LOL you hop fences and then are not even aware of your surroundings for roller coaster trains that can kill you?
Damn!
Impatience was his main problem. Doubt he was ever easy going when coming to waiting. It cost him dearly.
if you're going to go into a restricted area like that, stay low.
Sorry to hear about this, but my feet stink, time to hit the wave pool and take a piss
Honestly if i had to leave and they tell me i gotta stayy till after close. Id be tempted to
Congrats for Winning the Award. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So did he die? Is he in hospital?
Reminder this is why rides have bins located near the exit. I couldn't bring Duckie on dragon fyre Wilde beast backlot stunt etc you can't bring your keys
He played a stupid game and won a stupid prize
It is almost like you shouldn’t be an idiot around heavy industrial machinery.
"Common sense"- we really need a new term for this. I'm open to suggestions.

Way to go mr. Entitled, but you're willing to do this again???
This wasn't the best explained story. Its like we got the middle of the story but not beginning. Very poor job. I know it wasn't a long video but still.
I mean they will get it for you, but not until after park close.
Thought he was the exception. Stinks for his family. Those kids should have their dad. Make better choices everyone! I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to sue… I hope he won’t win, but this is America and we love awarding the guilty all the time.
