  • If you arent using a radio with a "waterfall" - how do you know you are on center frequency with the other station? Lets have a look!
First of all - I want to apologize for not being able to hear the "tone" that well in the video - hopefully you can hear everything over headphones or if you crank up the volume. I couldnt figure out how to increase the volume of the "spot pitch" tone on the Elecraft K3S.
Also - the K3S came out in 2015 - I think mine is only a couple of years old, but what I meant is that the technology is really almost 20 year old technology.
    Thanks for watching!

Great tip, especially when jumping on the clubs transceivers. My tone is 700hz due the same problem, too much loud music and flying around in piston aircraft!!. 73 from VK land.

I love Elecraft, but I have a Flex. Go Figure. Thanks for this video - I'd love to see one on the best headsets for CW

This tone will also be the tone when you press your cw key. So that's another way to zerobeat a station. Listen at the same tone that you hear when you are keying yourself. Especially handy on older rigs like my ts850.

Very excellent point - I totally neglected to mention that.

Filters are nice but doesn't explain why signals are distorted.
