  • Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. wants to be included in the upcoming debate on CNN between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
There hasn’t been a third participant, an independent candidate, in a presidential debate in over three decades…. Since Ross Perot in 1992
“No hedges, no ifs, ands and buts. I'll take the pledge. Because I know the American people want to talk about issues and not tabloid journalism. So, I'll take the pledge and we'll stay on the issues.
Now, just for the record, I don't have any spin doctors. I don't have any speech writers. Probably shows. I make those charts you see on television.
But you don't have to wonder if it's me talking. What you see is what you get. And if you don't like it, you got two other choices, right?”
That was Ross Perot in the 1992 town hall - the first-ever general election presidential debate held in a town hall format…. A citizen asked the candidates to "focus on the issues and not the personalities and the mud."
What were Ross Perot’s greatest moments, notable remarks, and most famous lines from the 1992 debates?

This election I will never forget.
I was working in an old family owned Hardware Store in South Jersey.
On election morning my Boss asked me to clean out, an old camping section
of unsold goods. One of the things was a case of cheap drinking straws.
I had a fun Ideal. So I set up 3 extra large glass vases with the 10,000
straws in their boxes, in front of them.
    I wrote a sign.
NOT who you wanted to WIN,
but who you actually VOTED for TODAY!!!
    6,000 straws
    Bush 2
    Clinton 18
    Ross Perot every other straw!
The next Morning The Philadelphia Inquirer called to see if our numbers matched theirs?
    They did NOT.
I lived in a 50/50 neighborhood, and everyone voted for Perot.
The only thing Clinton tried to get thru that Perot said was a must, was National Health Care. I can still hear Ross saying Fiji has NHC, why can't WE?!!?

This was great, and sad because we have fallen so short ever since.

The last pre-Trump candidate whose motives and intentions were not for power and the opportunity to vastly increase their personal wealth but, like Trump's were for the good of the country.

Now let's pretend the two dinosaurs in the upcoming debate have any concern outside their personal reputation and political power. Don't worry, surely they'll be doped up to seem 'lively' and 'energetic'.

I was planning on voting for Perot. Then he dropped out, then tried to reenter the race. By then, what votes he'd secure went to other candidates. IMO, the country needs to be run like a very successful business. You know the kind that sticks to a budget while taking care of its people. All presidential candidates need to be included in all national debates. Myself I'm tired of choosing the lesser of two evils. Trump 2024
