    My oral hygienist told me Gum Disease is common in more people than you know.Many people don’t know they have the disease because the symptoms are hard to detect. Millions of people are walking around totally clueless about what’s happening in there gums. Bleeding and loose teeth are the symptoms most complain about when it’s discovered.

    I'm so depressed. After going to 15 dentists and dealing with severe pain from my gums, teeth, and having sickle cell disease which constantly stays flared up because of this I am told all my upper teeth have to go and I will need dentures. Possibly on the bottom teeth as well but just a partial. I'm only 31! About to graduate soon and now I have to go through this and put off my medical billing & coding externship. I wish ppl would stop going into fields like this knowing they don't want to genuinely be in them.

      Rinse your mouth with salt water.Get a water flosser. antibiotic mouthwash after. Disinfect your toothbrush with hydrogen peroxide after each use . The chances of finding a dentist that really wants to save your teeth is 1/1000. But they will want you to continue treatment or procedures. They invest in themselves and their retirement in your mouth! If a patient never needs to come back , they make no money. Just be aware of that. I didnt have any issues with my teeth until I visited a dentist at 27 years old, just so I can use my insurance. If you hold out and care for your teeth, you maybe able to grow then back . They are doing this right now

    Diabetes is reversible, contrary to what is said in this video. It's the damage done to tissue that isn't. Makes me think this is also reversible by changing dietary habits, but any bone loss that has occurred is permanent.

    • @MP-uv7tc
      @MP-uv7tc 4 роки тому +5

      Yeah bit of b.s about diabetes being irreversible. Fasting reverses it & Right diet will do that too no sugar etc. Agree bone loss would be permanent tho I heard of bone grafts on this I think. Garlic & Ginger kill bacteria in the mouth & blood stream so should be go to keep it from worsening and are reasonably priced. Thanks.

    • @holycrudscones123
      @holycrudscones123 3 роки тому +6

      Dietitian here- what she means by diabetes (type 2) not being "curable" is that once you go off the treatment plan (diet, weight loss, medication, etc), the diabetes has a very high likelihood of coming back because the underlying insulin resistance is still there. Many CDEs (certified diabetes educators) also practice with this mindset so patients remember that they need to adhere to lifelong lifestyle changes to properly manage the condition. Bariatric surgery and the subsequent physiological changes in the body, however, seems to almost act like a cure for diabetes.

    I had appointment with a dentist for routine check up and he said I have no gum disease. The hygienist who cleans my teeth said I have pockets in my gums and asked me to make a private appointment dentist with a special interest in periodontology and after they measured my pockets they said I have Stage 2 gum disease (mainly the back teeth with pockets up to 5-6mm) and quoted me £1700 for 2 sessions (1 hour each session). Is that over priced? The dentist has a PHD in Periodontology. This seems crazy price. I hope it’s not a dentist scam !

      Unfortunately dentist s have been taught to look in your mouth for something to fix. That's their business model. Unless you're going to a biological dentist or holistic dentist that looks at the whole body you will most likely be told that you need procedures that you possibly don't need. For periodontal disease I recommend you get a water pic and focus it on the teeth that you know have deep pockets you need to use the waterpik just with plain water don't need to put anything in it start on a low setting and increase as tolerated. I would also suggest that you get Closed toothpaste. These recommendations are coming from a biological dentist who has been in practice for 45 years.
