A lot of people do not realise that a second love can be even greater than a first love, and Amy and Laurie were far happier together than Jo and Laurie would have been,
usually the first love at least at a younger age is more of a crush and then the second is true love. that's how it is at least in movies but irl I think too
I hope this makes people realise that Amy and Laurie were meant for each other along and Jo and Prof.Bhear (don’t know if I’ll spelt it write) are also true love
I really like this version, the casting was really perfect. But one thing I dislike that they did Amy and Laurie’s relationship pretty dirty. I feel like they made Jo to be Laurie’s eternal love eventho he was married to Amy. Jo’s letter even said that Jo wanted Laurie to take care of Amy and made it like it was such an obligation to marry her. Unlike the other Little Women movies that say how she wanted Laurie to come back to her. They didn’t show how heartbroken and upset Jo when Laurie married Amy. They refused to show Laurie’s love or sacrifice for Amy because they didn’t make Laurie an alcoholic & a playboy and didn’t even cast Fred. Ugh so much things that should’ve been done here. What a waste, Amy and Laurie had such a great chemistry in this series
@@anusikharawat2070exactly she wanted someone and anyone at that point would have done for her. She was tired of being alone because her two living sisters were doing their own thing and had someone. The writer always planned for Jo to end up alone-to realize that she didn’t need a husband to make her happy and complete her but everyone wanted her to end up with Laurie, so she basically said screw it. You want her to be with someone, fine . I have never understand why some people ship Laurie and Jo together when Amy is the best match for Laurie and Jo never had any romantic feelings for him.
This adaptation would have worked so much better if they had a child actress to play young Amy. I got so mad when a teen ager Amy burns Jo´s book. It works better in the original story when Amy is a child and doesn´t see the outcome of her actions. I did like the adult Amy in this version though. This version brushed off Laurie way too much. In the book he is very possessive over Jo and also over Amy when he first meets her in Europe. I ship Laurie and Amy in the books (and Friedrich and Jo) but it is difficult to find a decent presentation of their love in tv/film version. This is a great video.
I completely agree with you. Only in thr 1994 film version Amy was a child and it's a shame because you can empathise with her much more. It's a real injustice towards her character...
I agree about the child Amy being a better choice but in this adaption I can be more accepting of Laurie and Amy because she looks older in this. I can never wrap my head around the fact that Laurie and Amy always had a brother sister relationship in my eyes because of their age gap and then suddenly became attracted to each other when she was no longer a child. I don't like them getting together in the 1994 version because Amy seems so small and then seems to be a grown woman in four years, where as even though this adaption strays from her being a child like she is in the book, their relationship makes more sense to me. Does that make sense? Like I ship Laurie and Amy in this adaption but not in others
@@ainellewellyn2073 In the book, Laurie had a brother-sister relationship with every March girl. And the age gap between them isn't actually that huge, Amy started out 12 and Laurie was 16. It's just that in most versions they use the same actor for 16 year old Laurie and 20-something Laurie so it seems like he doesn't change, but a child actress for 12 year old Amy and a full grown woman for older Amy and that's what confuses the viewers. It's also worth noting that the events that take place in the second part (when the characters are all adults) happened over the course of several years (Jo was 15 at the beginning of the book, 16 at the end of part one and 25 at the end of part 2, which means part 2 took place over the course of about 6-7 years).
@@hkc8544 there is no way she was 25 by the end of part 2. The story spans from 1861 to 1865. There's only a 4 year time gap between the begining and end of the book, save for the end at the school. She was 19 by the end of episode 3 and 17 at the end of episode 3.
Christina Roberts agree! She was such an antagonist in here, I couldn’t empathize w her at all. Maybe that’s why I couldn’t understand why Laurie fell for her. Good thing the new adaptation gave a little more perspective regarding her character.
Amy wanted to take Laurie from Jo... remember Meg got to go too and she didn't do anything to Meg. It was Laurie.... Amy was after and she didn't care if she stepped over her older sister to get to him. That comes from having a mother who will cater to the narcissism in Amy.
Me too I watched it last night and I enjoyed every second it was a great despite the backlash and criticism that the movie is getting I can say that I am most definitely enjoyed it and I'm planning to watch it again
The character Amy is a rendition of a narcissist who constantly wants to take what Jo March has. She didn't care if she stepped over her older sister to get it. The money was just an added bonus. Remember Amy only went after Laurie because he was rich. If he were poor, she may have had feelings but she wouldn't have married him.
In the book, Amy is redeemed :) She turns down a much richer man, Fred Vaungh, because she had always been in love with Laurie. I think the books do a much better job of depicting Amy, and her growing relationship with Laurie. None of the adaptations do any of the other March girls justice - and always paint Amy as the villain.
Idk why but watching this video i feel like this cast does not have the chemistry and the charisma, the screem presence then the new version have. I didn't feel the urge and the love i feel for amy and laurie that florence and timothee made me feel, and i also don't feel the strong presence of jo...

AmyxLaurie is the superior ship
Laurie and Amy are my favorite couple. They love each other and have one daughter named Bess

Yeah because that was how it happened in the book . Jo never loved laurie she was jus thinking to give him a chance cuz she was alone.

This is a 2017 version by BBC.
HOW TF DOES SOMEONE SHIP JO AND LAURIE-
Katherine Newton? Is this another “Little Woman’s” movie?
I believe it is a miniseries
😍😍😍😍
Whats this version? I had no idea they did a other Little Women 🤔
DramaLover904 it’s the 2017 BBC/PBS version.
The best version ever
Who plays Amy in this? Wonderful video by the way.
Katherine Newton I think

The only thing about this series is that Amy is such a brat, she is kinda stuck up in the book, but she isn’t such a brat.... idk tho.

What little women movie is that
So which adaptation is better?
But when Amy burnt Jo's papers, I was soooooooooooooooo mad I literally wanted to beat her out. Sorry not sorry

Pero yo tengo entendido que Jo veía a Laurie sólo como un buen amigo y no tuvo sentimientos románticos hacia él
