So Israel does tell people to get out, before they bomb the buildings, but Hamas puts in roadblocks to stop people from escaping, so that when they die, again, Hamas will get sympathy from people in the west who just read headlines. Many Palestinians hate Hamas, and they hate people in the West supporting them. The only people who don't hate Hamas are the religious extremists, which unfortunately there is a lot of them too. And there's also plenty of people who hate Hamas privately, but support them publicly.

I read a NYT magazine article about 20 years ago from a female US journalist. She was visiting Israel and Palestine, and had interviewed people from both sides, and I remember her saying that there were many Jews in Israel who wanted a two state solution and who were very much against what their government was doing. I also worked with a young lady who was Jewish and she was very much against what Israel was doing to the Palestinians. They are many more out there, and I'm grateful Sam is one. I was an avid listener to Sam when he was on Air America.

*So in self defence, the Jewish refugees formed an official state, to gain protection and rights, from the rest of the world watching, to not be killed*
Palestine and other Arabic nations then immediately reminded everyone of their goal to kill all the Jews, and immediately invaded, and lost, and got pushed back.
*As Israel pushed them back, they found themselves occupying hilltop land, that served as a military advantage to Palestinians to try and kill all the Jews, so they kept that land, but gave Palestinians a number of years to leave*
Palestine kept declaring to kill not just all the Jews in Israel, but all the Jews in the world, and kept invading and kept loosing. So Israel put blockades etc in place, (and started removing them from the land they previously lost, and were refusing to leave, where they were launching their attacks from, to try and kill all the Jews) to stop these unprovoked attacks from happening. (Egypt also blockaded Gaza, because, as well as other reasons, in the 1980's, Palestinians revolted in Jordan and tried to overthrow the Jordanian king, so Egypt doesn't want to deal with that)
*When Israel have stopped the blockades etc, the attacks increase, not decrease. When Israel gave Palestinians land to live in peace, they immediately declared to kill all the Jews, and used said land to launch attacks to try to do so, but they lost, so the land was taken back off them*
The context of their formation, is that they were religious extremists, long before Israeli refugees even started arriving in larger numbers to that region in the 19th century. And because of this they tried to kill all the Jewish refugees, over and over again, kept loosing, which only made them more angry, more violent and more extreme.
*Some regions just develop more extreme ideologies for various reason, like the Germans in WW2, but Palestine having a lot of extremists, had nothing to do with the Jews, other than them being Jewish and defending themselves. Palestine is much, much worse than Germany in WW2 they are just not as competent, so they have never been able to actually achieve any of their goals*
If Palestinians put down their weapons today, the conflict would end, if Israel put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel. That's the difference.
*The conflict will end, when Palestinians love their children, more than they hate Jewish children*
The only thing that will ever change this, and it is very sad, because there are tons of completely innocent people in Palestine who do not support this, but are terrified to speak out, is a change in ideology. But what isn't helping, is people from all over the world, siding with Palestine. You wouldn't side with Germany in WW2 so you shouldn't side with Palestine either. Just because they are not as competent, their ideology is the same if not worse, so again, you should not side with them at all.
*You can't send in special forces etc because there are 30,000 soldiers in Gaza, and many, many civilians willing to attack special forces too, and you have no way of knowing who is innocent and who is an attacker* Nearly half the population could be attacking you. You can't just expect Israel to keep letting attacks like this happening, and missiles being shot at them, so they have to destroy the buildings where that military equipment etc is being held.
Yet Hamas put their bases under hospitals and schools etc, to gain sympathy and support, from people in the west, who just read headlines. So Israel does tell people to get out, before they bomb the buildings, but Hamas puts in roadblocks to stop people from escaping, so that when they die, again, Hamas will get sympathy from people in the west who just read headlines. Many Palestinians hate Hamas, and they hate people in the West supporting them. The only people who don't hate Hamas are the religious extremists, which unfortunately there is a lot of them too. And there's also plenty of people who hate Hamas privately, but support them publicly.

I read a NYT magazine article about 20 years ago from a female US journalist. She was visiting Israel and Palestine, and had interviewed people from both sides, and I remember her saying that there were many Jews in Israel who wanted a two state solution and who were very much against what their government was doing. I also worked with a young lady who was Jewish and she was very much against what Israel was doing to the Palestinians. They are many more out there, and I'm grateful Sam is one. I was an avid listener to Sam when he was on Air America.

For Israeli Jews support for a 2 state solution only around 30%, support for stopping expanding settlements if it jeopardized peace treaties was down, in almost every metric the Israeli support for a meaningful peaceful resolution has declined
