Walabot DIY Plus and Plus X device are similar. The difference is that Plus X can work with lesser calibration And that DIY Plus can be purchased only on Amazon, and Plus X on walabot website. Also the Cases look different. Sorry for the confusion.

Video production old TV on your page OG
All walabot products can be bought directly from their website
I've been interested in these for a while now. Thanks for showing off all the different models
It's great to prevent drilling into electrical.
Cool technical tips, OG been a fan since the old vintage TV on your UA-cam
Great job on this video. Very helpful and informative. Thanks.
Strong recommendation to try refacing with UHMW-PE tape (lots on Amazon) Tougher and slicker than anything should be. My guess would be for thinner version of UHMW tape, it may stick better but those adhesives are really good regardless. It's slick and virtually immune to abrasion regardless. 3D print a holder between the Walabot and your phone (consider with or without phone case) and you won't have to rely on the Walabot's gummy bear.
Great video. I ordered a 3-foot USB-C to USB-micro cable from Amazon. I use it instead of the cable that was provided. This way, I don't have to hold the phone on the wall with the Walabot device. I find it to be easier to handle.
Great minds think alike.....did the same thing.
Thanks for the video, great job. The calibration requirement and having to keep it on the wall to avoid losing calibration appear to be cumbersome. I’ll stick with magnets. They are cheap and super effective and hassle free. And they free your hands to work since stay on the wall once they find a nailhead. This may be useful for finding critters or wires though.
It won't find any wires of PVC/gas pipes though. And you're relying on the drywall screw being centered on the stud, which often isn't the case. I use a magnet or Franklin stud finder (faster, like you said) but then check with Walabot for wiring or gas/plumbing before screwing something. Best of both worlds.
@@hansangb all good. I’ve never had an issue hitting wood when using magnets as stud finder. If in doubt, use a pilot drill to verify wood edges at magnet.
You don't need to recalibrate the DIY2 if lifted for the same wall. I'm not sure the UA-camr read the manual
Good luck not hitting PEX pipes. Thise new plastic waterline do not show on stud finders nor with a magnet. Be careful on newer builds as you will need a Flir, Walabot, or other penetrating imager to locate what's behind a wall in new construction.
@@nelsonbusch2910 1966 construction but we do have some pex in remodeled areas.
That is one handy tool 😄
DIY2 does not require recalibration if taken off the wall of scanning the same wall.
Check the manual of the DIY plus to see if it's the same or different
Nice info and review as always for Walabot DIY.👍
thanks
Nice product. I liked it
The biggest downside to the diy2 seems to be that you still have to put your phone on it if you want to mark anything accurately
I purchased a longer cord from Amazon and now I don't have to hold the phone on the Walabot device. It works great!
Great content as always TT.
Is it compatible with iPhone?
DIY2 is compatible with iPhone see link in video description for more info.
Looks like the brst tool for trades folks.. HVAC and plumbers..sparkie will be happy too 😊😅
Can it find studs in an exterior wall with vynl siding and OSB sheathing?
Why do you recommend DIY Plus for android users?
What if one doesn't have a WiFi?
I wonder if this can find rafters on a shingle roof. So far nothing exists for that job yet
tnx..boss...but which good?...plz tell me.. plus/ diy2
I use diy plus more.
@@TampaTec why?
this looks like for professionals my guess
I need a device to detect joists on a carpet floor.
I never tried that but diy plus may work.
Hiii
Hi
My experience with Walabot is not so good 😕
ဝယ်လို့ရလား
I have the DIY Plus X. These are a pieces of crap! Do not waste your money. It may be good for studs, but that is it. Not good for electrical cable identification at all.
As descent as it is, i think it's grossly overpriced. Then, i saw that they charge shipping. Not for me. go find another sucker.

What failed John?
