they should downgrade the status of rizal class into corvette, and BUY 6 new REAL HEAVY FRIGATES

I think that is the plan the plan once the delivery of the 2 HDC-3100 Corvette is made, the JRC will be Re-classified. I'm not sure what the hull classification will be either PS as with the BRP Conrado Yap (PS-39) or FS, which I preferred moving forward.

Jose rizal frigates must be changed to Jose Rizal corvette flight I and HDC 3100 shall be called Jose Rizal corvette flight II
Actually that was the plan of the Phil. Navy after acquiring at least a 5000 ton destroyer type Class Frigates, at least 3/6 units of it... Then re designate the 2 units of Rizal class to Corvettes after up grading it's armaments to full equipped missile capable warship. Then acquire additional units of HDC-3200 Corvette class to complete a 12 units of it,
Then after that acquire at least 2/3 units of a Navantia or Damen Offered Frigates with Tech. Transfer too, so we can build our very own warships locally... Coz the HHI deals are without tech. Transfer deal, we just choose HHI due to cost effective and freebies reasons only, so after acquiring enough missile capable warships that practically cheap, we should consider getting a warship deal that can give as a long term solution in terms of warship production, to supply our Phil. Navy more modern and missile capable warships in the future.
The best option is the cost effective one. And because the primary rule was a coastal and territorial defense.
Just some minor correction on the HDF-3800 0:24 to 1:04. Looking at the model, it only has 16-cells VLS, not 32-cells as, mentioned. Also the PN upcoming HDC-3100 has 16-cells VLS with potentially space for additional 16-cells, while displacing 3,200t fully loaded. Which I expect to see a follow-on order with some improvements.
Although it's best to wait for the PN to published its requirements, I think 32-cells VLS should be the minimum with the ability to quadpacked 8 of them with short-to-mediun ranged SAM for a total of 32, while the remaining 24 are dedicated to Long-range or ABM SAM like the SM-2 or SM-6 equivalent. 8 SSM should be the minimum while having space for 16 SSM if needed, a single CIWS preferably Missile-based like the RAM , 2 30mm RCWS, 2 triple-tube torpedo launcher, and mounts for small arms such as 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine guns. As for dimensions a larger design should be preferred. But will depend on cost and the final requirements!

Remember, RP is on a tight budget. A well built warship that is affordable like HHI, will be formidable as long as it's missiles, torpedoes are great and deadly. If Korea has been building good ships, why spend more hundreds of millions of dollars for a European built of the same standards, Use the money saved for the best missiles and torpedoes.
I totally agree!.. Why spend more funding on a very expensive warships, if we can acquire the same missile capable warships in a cheaper price? At least we can acquire as muchwarship as we can if we do get the Cheaper but has the same power and capability as well...

Any of these would suit the Philippines nicely and a couple of them would certainly improve the PN. Any such competition would not come down to who has the best Frigate, but who can offer the best terms and offsets, the best training, logistics and support solutions.

Well, as seeing the current modern frigate the Philippines recently purchased. All these potential frigates can easily mirror the limitations of the Antonio Luna & Jose Rizal. Ships that were originally designed with VLS & CIWS but ordered without either.
I get it. Most people think the Philippines just need coastal and territorial vessels. Well, if a certain neighboring nation continues to encroach further into Philippines territorial waters. That nation isn’t coming with coastal vessels.

FYI: the first Asean country to be offered the mogami class by Japan was Indonesia, and Indonesia also already has Damen Sigma (and is currently building the AH140/type 31).

We cannot compete againts china ship per ship. Subrang dami nilang barko nag aaksaya lang tayo ng pera sa mga barkong iyan. Sa halip ay bumili nalang tayo ng medium range tactical nuclear missiles at e base sa palawan. Ito ay mas mura, less personel required, less maintenance, at hamak na mas effective deterence against china keysa mga barko.
Ok po yan, pero mas effective ang deterrence ng Pilipinas kung, meron tayong LBMS at GBAD's at MLRS systems sa ating Shore lines at least MR/ LR systems, at several warships na merong Missile capability to literally confront and deterr any aggressions while being back up by our Missile system and gave security if Aggressors try to intimidate or bully our warships due to lack of numbers...
