I remember being 8 years old watching that game 5 San Antonio vs Detroit with my dad. He wanted to Detroit to win and as soon as he saw horry catch the ball wide open he said "it's over" out loud. He then told me all about big shot bob. Hell of a role player and just a great winner. That shot against the Kings I still remember to this day. I remember being glued to the TV, my wife and kids had to leave to a birthday party in the middle of the game. I stayed home but remember being so frustrated during the game. Horry was always the go-to man for the win. Nearly every team in the NBA wanted him on their team just so he could be on the floor in the final few seconds. The higher the pressure, the higher the chances he would sink the winning shot from three point land.

Man, thanks for posting this. I loved that Shaq-Kobe 3 peat lakers, but Robert Horry was the hidden gem of that team. What I love, that is this mistake every team Horry played against made, they focused their defenses on the known stars (Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Hakeem, etc), but you see this "oh no!" moment when they get the ball to Horry, he does that kickstand shooting motion, and he is able to get the shot off without a hand in his face, and the ball is in the air. The opposing team knows they are f*cked, but they are hoping divine intervention is coming, but it doesn't. That man was solid gold in clutch moments.

He is the all time buzzer beater champion. That game winner he had against Sacramento was his best imo. The whole entire city of Los Angeles was yelling "Horry Horry Horry Horry"
The guy that coached Horry at Alabama was the awesome Wimp Sanderson, the man who created the Plaid Palace at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa Alabama. And I went to the same high school coach Sanderson went to here in Florence (AkA Flo Town) Alabama. Horry was always my favorite Alabama player.
