I always loved Father Ted from a young age, always enjoy seeing new people enjoying it, all time classic over here in the UK and Ireland, still sad that we lost Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) literally the day after the final episode was filmed RIP
@@MeganRuth Wonderful, I'd love to see how other people respond to them in real time. I am a Canadian expat myself, and there are a few BBC comedies that drove me insane with laughter. I would be curious to see what you think of a BBC show called Bottom. I'm a fair bit older than you, it seems, and times certainly have changed since I fell in love with it so many years ago.
A classic sitcom. We visited Dublin back in 2018. The first day we were on a Hop On Hop Off tour. We were behind another double decker bus. At the back of the bus was a huge poster of Father Ted. Conforming that we were in fact, in Ireland. 😂
You should do the whole episode to get context and there's so much more to it.there's only 3 series 6 eps each.the actor who played father ted passed around the time the last ep aired i think?
I love how that black mark is on the window in this scene but we only get the pay-off for that later in the episode (...one of the bits nobody ever reacts to.) Does everybody know this was actually part of a full episode of a Sit Com - I fear the internet may be forgetting these things!
@@MeganRuth Thank you! That wasn't a go at your reaction, but more of a comment on how every Reactor always gets hounded into watching the same few minutes from the same comedy shows - when in most cases they are funny because of their context within the full show.
Nahh it was Irish but just shown on a UK channel because RTE (Irish TV) wouldn't show it for obvious reasons. They would have been inundated with complaints from practicing Catholics.
@@RazorMouthThis is a myth. It was never offered to RTE as the writers have said on numerous occasions. You must remember Scrap Saturday. That was much the same team, and they went a bit closer to the bone on RTE. Remember the ""Whistling Bishop" and the "Addams Family" dig at the Shinners.
Couldn’t help but notice that you ‘mouthed’ that Fr.Ted is a racist. Ahem!! He was singing the song from ‘The Lady and The Tramp’ sung by the Siamese cats. His actions were NOT racist!!
That scene is priceless! For sure he'd be considered a racist by today's standards. Though i don't believe Ted means any ill will 😂 Looking forward to seeing how you react to more Father Ted, particularly John and Mary, the "old married couple" 😂
@@MeganRuth Compared to the one sided racism spewed out about white people on many so called reputable channels and media in general nowadays , his is a very mild and benign type.
Dear beautiful lady ❤. I'm Irish myself. Firstly I've only just seen your you tube channel recently as I've been going through a very hard times personally over the last 2 years after losing my mother back in June 2021. Then my partner and myself sadly broke up 12 days after my mother's death and as I'm an only child and my father passed away many years ago I've been alone ever since in the family home. Also not working at the moment trying to get work. Anyway enough about me. Father Ted was actually banned from Irish TV even though it was an Irish production etc as it was seen as making a laugh and fun of Irish priests as they were playing priests but weren't able to say mass properly or do funerals etc and that was what made it funny😂. Anyway God Bless you and your future endeavours ❤
@@MichihiroHonda sadly it was Banned from Irish TV. Well to be clear Originally it was. Actually the interior shots were in England while the exterior were in Ireland
Everybody misses the "Lighten up Dougal" when he has the lampshade of his head and how the two of them go back to normality after she raving and shouting about racism.

I hear you're a Father Ted fan now, Meghan.
It seems I am! 😂
Feckin yanks!
I wonder if she had a go at the Greeks. 😂
It's not the Greeks. It's the Chinese she's after.@@LennyHenrysDorsalCavity

Ive seen this clip so many times and it never gets old also your laugh is so infectious i love it
Thank you! 😊😂
Colm trying to avoid being a racist because he just couldn't be arsed 😂.
“Only the farm takes up most of the day and at night I’d just like a cup of tea, I might be able to devote meself full time to the ol’racism.”
I always thought this might be an allusion to the KKK operating at night...
SO-SO IRISH
Warms my heart to see you enjoying Ted - one of my all time favourite shows - watch more!! ❤😊
aw thanks! And I will! 😊
Remember when the Cuban priest gave Ted a fertility statue? That's the worst thing to give a priest.
This is a classic clip. The whole episode is fantastic
I'll have to watch the full thing!
@@MeganRuth yes, full episodes would be great, its an amazing comedy series!
@@MeganRuth Especially watch out for the scene when Ted is standing at the window with the perfectly-square bit of dirt on it.
You really should watch the whole episode. Ted gets caught up in being racist when he is not multiple times, guilt by association, etc.
You have to watch the full episode !

Please watch the entire series, Miss Ruth. One of the funniest shows I ever watched. There isn't a dull moment.
I’ve started too! The first 4 episodes are up on my channel :)

Father Ted is such a great show! Happy to see people reacting to it!
It's a brilliant clip, isn't it?😂
Your reaction was so spontaneous and you've got a fantastic laugh as well as being gorgeous looking😊

'Technically' you're ok, it was a Channel 4 production.

Father Ted is a UK show, set in the ROI.
It might have been produced in the UK but the comic genius behind it from the writers to the cast is 100% Irish.
Nahh it was Irish but just shown on a UK channel because RTE (Irish TV) wouldn't show it for obvious reasons. They would have been inundated with complaints from practicing Catholics.

Great show, so funny
So many great British TV shows
It's Irish though too
Written by lenihen an irish writer and all the actors are irish , how ever its a British TV channel that produced it
I remember watching Father Ted on CBC back in the day. My dad and I loved it
Father Ted was on CBC? How interesting!
Thank you, great reaction .
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Have you seen Tarzan The Fearless?
Father ted was created and written by some Irishmen but made by a English channel as no Irish one would touch it due to the religious content.
This clip really does the episode no justice
Please watch the whole episode it gets better and better
You gotta watch the whole episode.
Later in the sketch the black rectangle in the window comes into play !! 😂😂🤣
frankie boyle michael jacksons childrens hospital :O)
Naw don't do it I'm Irish
Why is he racist? Lighten up
He’s not a racist. It’s called poking fun also referred to as satire.
What is satirical about it?
'Down with this sort of thing.' 'Careful now.' 😂
😅😂❤
“Ah, go on.”
At the start the joke is that there's a Chinatown on an island with a handful of people!
I love that Jesus is watching over Dougal's shoulder.

To all intents and purposes it's an Irish show. I think the production company was British.
Seeing you laugh at that are you a racist now ? Laughing at an Irish Priest that's
terrible, to be shore.
